Have you ever heard the saying that you can take a girl out of the trailer park but you can't take the trailer park out of the girl? Not to offend anyone in a trailer. Louis Normand, Jr left me homeless. This coward had someone repo my truck because (my salesman told me privately that the GPS had stopped working) and that made his Finance Manager Grady nervous. I was paid up but they could not track me and 'control the security of his asset' is what my salesman told me when I went to pick up my personal property that was in the truck that they also stole.

They took my truck and everything in it and then called the sheriff's office on me when I saw a card my six year old daughter made for me sitting on top of a trash container where they recondition trucks. I admit, I lost it. They took my truck which took my business, my reputation with my carrier, my personal property, and the sentimental things that many of us owner operators with children carry in our truck always close to us because we miss them. I start to shake even to this day and right now in fact when I think of seeing the Easter card of a bunny rabbit my daughter had made me that was stuck in the middle of my steering wheel in a dumpster as I was told the truck had already been rented out to another customer. You cannot get any dirtier than these wh*res who you pay weekly to f**k you.

The sheriff's deputies that arrived took me aside to get my story and told me that his department was out there all the time and that he felt bad for me. He said that this business had more complaints from customers claiming theft than any other business in all of Harrison County so obviously something was wrong with the company. I Googled the population of the area the deputies referred to in 2005 and it was approximately 188,000 and they have more call outs than any other business should tell you that the 'program' Louis J Normand, Jr has gotten rich off is wrong for everyone except himself. Let's call a spade a spade. He runs a criminal organization and should be prosecuted on a federal level for racketeering. Forget Mississippi doing anything about him because his company is a sizeable source of revenue from taxes and the influx of out of state money spent while waiting in the hotels for your truck to come out of the shop.

Their mechanics are a whole different post but wow, you have never ever in your entire life witnessed such incompetence as those who are supposed to make the truck DOT ready. You have to wonder if the name 'monkey wrench' originated from a place such as this. Untrained monkies with wrenches that rarely are working on a truck. A mechanic should instill confidence instead the 'man I don't know what is wrong with that truck, we all looked at it and can't figure it out' look in their eyes. But, it is easy to get off track considering the scope of wrongdoing that I will get back to the original topic.

Now you might think that it would be a slam dunk lawsuit that any attorney would take on a contigency basis right? Good luck, you have very little legal recourse because in every contract is an arbitration clause and you have to pay for it to be held in Harrison County, Mississippi. That is the primary reason that these thieves are still in business. When you sign that contract you lose the ability to hit them where it hurts and that would be paying the numerous and just claims they are guilty of so much that they would spend more time in court than at the dealership.

But it is now 2013 and other ways have emerged to bring the guilty to justice. You take them to the court of public opinion and let them judge by what they read. Louis Normand, Jr has made this an easy case because there is so much material written about his companies that all you do is do a little research and viola, show it to people. Just as with a guilty verdict against them would cost them money make no mistake about the effectiveness of your first amendment rights online in turning potential customers away from the setup they call the golden rental program. Let them know who they are dealing with since the name is always changing from Classic Show Trucks to United Truck Group to No Credit Check to American Truck Group to American Truck Showrooms and as far as the rental division Transport Financial to Bally Financial to Truck Capital to National Truck Funding. I will be listing more but that is what I have currently.

It has taken me years to recover and prosper by dealing with honest folks from something that feels like it was yesterday. These souless bastards burn the experience into your very being like a scar on your spirit. To those of you who have been scarred as I then I understand if you do not want to get involved because it is easier to try to let it go and not think about it. I respect that ability but it is not one that I possess. Taking them to the public court of opinion is what I feel in my heart is moral and just. So unless you are burying the experience of dealing with Louis J Normand, Jr and his rent a truck company under whatever name of the day he believes fools those with bad credit, then speak out online. It feels good.

Oh and shame shame shame on the Truck Paper for allowing this criminal a space to advertise the setup. You should take his advertising rates and multiply them by 10. He is a very poor reflection on your paper and their judgement. The type of company Louis J Normand, Jr runs should be advertised in the back of some hardcore taboo porn magazine if at all.

The website www.thetruckersreport.com has a very helpful forum written by owner operators just like you and me. They have over 100 negative reports warning people to steer clear of this operation. Many people do not make the connection though due to the ever changing name so I will do the work for you.

Here are some of the complaints from 2009:

Well I'm almost went down there to buy a truck in ms...I'm glad I didn't they lie way to much about their truck 1st truck had 600k next day it had 780k also he changed price on it few times they told me they done overhead with new mains and rods 2days ago...next day I called and found out all that is been done 16 months ago...I wouldn't waist my time with them...

Run Run. They are one of those places that cater to guy's with BAD credit that can not get a truck somewhere else. And as is the case with 90% of those s****.> 12.23.2009
I've rented a volvo 670 with 600k plus miles on it. Because of my inexperience and bad credit, I dealt with these crooks. I was paying 699.00 per week and if the payment was not in by noon. The scumbags would call you for the payment. I was leased on to Landstar at the time. Between the crooks at Landstar and this rental truck place, I was basically working for free. I put a security deposit of $6750 and $250.00 pocessing fee. In 3 months I paid these scumbags over $15,000 between deposit and payments. The truck had some serious front end issues and was killing steer tires. I finally gave up and told them to come get the truck in Florida where it worn the tires until the wire started to show. I dealt with a guy name Chris and he is a piece of work. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. The tractors for the most part or worn out fleet junk from companies that did'nt maintain them well. BEWARE!

United Truck Group/Capital

Looking for others that have experience with United Truck Group out of Gulfport MS. Our experience was extremely unpleasant but looking for info on anyone that has leased to own a truck from them. We are considering a class action suit as they have not met their financial obligations to us. Please reply to this message and I will monitor it.

Not only did they not meet their financial obligations to us they call the law on our driver when he stopped by to pick up our deposit. The local law officer was very aware of the false nature of the call and without stating it, indicated that they would like someone to step up and put an end to the shenigans that happen there very frequently.

Check out their BBB rating .... "F"

12.31.2009
Wish that we had taken out Tuckster advice and contacted the BBB before investing nearly $10,000. The truck that we got was not as advertised that is for sure. The transmission installed was not for that model, etc. When we returned the truck (per contract within 30 days) all we have gotten was the run around. Promises to refund our deposit or to get us into another truck were just water under the bridge. When a driver for us went to physically pick up the check (after several promises to over night it to us) they called the police on him and told them that he was part of the "mexican mafia". The police stated very clearly that they were tired of being called out to the shop under these pretenses when obviosuly the driver was very non threatening (and not Mexican by the way). The individual officers are discreetly encouraging us to put an end to their charade. Unfortunately we didn't get any other unhappy o/o when we were there as we just assumed that they would keep their word. Great example of the make up of the word 'assume'.

More to come. Thank you for your time in reading this and giving it your consideration. The court of public opinion is an extremely effective tool in exposing those who have flown under the radar tricking people such as Louis J Normand, Jr has while operating in Gulfport, Mississippi.
