I purchased a 42' plasma tv for $2599 on 11/1/04 and the tv went out 1 year and 2 weeks later so it was after the manufacturers warranty.
I was happy that I purchased the 36 month extended warranty until I found that they will not honor it. It has been about 2 months now and I still have no resolution. If I am lucky to get a hold of Doug Ward the service/warranty manager he just gives me the run around. He typically will not take my calls until I call 15 times in a row and he gets sick of me. He is now to the point that he will not call me back at all.
Do they think this is just going to go away....I think not. I am interested in filing a law suit if there is anyone else that would be interested in participating.

You are leaving out some of the story to fully appreciate your problem.
1st off I want to make it clear that I am not a big fan of American. They treat their employees like crap. I will defend them when it is due.
1) If you called me 15 times, I would avoid you to. That is just childish to call that many times in a row. If you are not getting satisfaction, then take it to to the corporate level.
2) There are some things that are not covered under the warranty. Did you ever think to read the receipt?? If you didn't like what the warranty covered, you have canceled it and or returned the TV. If you were miss lead.

I was a repair center supervisor at American Service for many years and I know Mr. Ward personally. I'm wondering what happened on the extended warranty since it is usually in their best interest (profits) to honor an extended warranty. Yes, Mr. Ward has had a habit of being a bit abrupt, his people skills are somewhat lacking, but it seems unlikely that he would just refuse to repair/replace your plasma TV. I'm just curious about the actual facts behind all this. I'm not standing up for American TV Service or Mr. Ward, as I have no personal interest in either one anymore.
