we sent americredit a western union payment for the amount of 627.94 on 2/11/11 that put my account up to date. however on 2/12/11 a tow truck showed up to pick up my truck. i feel that is bad because i could have used that money to feed my family.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Not Very Helpful

AUTHOR: Himikatz - (USA)

I'm sure the original reporter is very much aware of the could have's, & should have's. Therefor your comment wasn't at all helpful in any way shape or form. Alot of us get behind in bills due to one circumstance or another. If the facts are as stated then the fact would be that this person sent payment in which brought their account current, therefor their vehicle should not have been taken from them. As they said it is bad business for the finance company to do this.

My suggestion for future refferences is that when this happens and anyone falls behind on their payments when you contact the finance company to make arrangements make sure you 1 get the name of who you are speaking with, 2 that you confirm the amount needed to make the situation right, now if that involves a repayment plan in order to get your account current such as you owe $600.00 but can only pay $300.00 today but can pay the remaining $300.00 next week  the most important thing to remember is to make the payment when you said you would and for the amount you said you would and if you won't be able to, you have to call the company and talk with them, they can't read your mind and if they do not recieve their payment and have had no communication with you then they will assume you aren't going to pay. 3 I would have called the finance company back after making the payment to confirm they recieved it and that the situation was now taken care of.

Now chances are you will get your car back, but agian chances are that you will have to pay the towing cost and storage cost that the towing company charges, however maybe you can get the finace company to eat those fees but doubtful. My suggestion for the future is that if you know you are going to be late with your car note to call the finance company before you are late to inform them that you will be late and when you can get the payment caught up. Believe it or not most Finance companys do not want to take your car from you as they generally lose money on those types of things and would much rather you keep the car you have worked hard for and paid for however we have to communicate with them.

I do hope you get it worked out and that you get your truck back, just use this as a learning experiece and move on from it.

No.

If you would have made your payment on time to begin with then there would be no last minute Western Union payment and no repo.
