Ameriquest Mortgage - AMC Ripoffs with FORCED ESCROW ACCOUNTS Orange County California

I will try to make this short. I was under the impression when I refinanced with AMC that my real estate taxes were being paid. Unfortunately whie on maternity leave earlier this year, I received notice that my taxes were delinquent. I quickly contacted the City of Philadelphia and made a payment arrangement with them to pay all back taxes, and I would handle paying future taxes myself. All of this took place in April 2006. I have since been paying on time every month and paying extra when I could. Well I received my October statement yesterday to find that not only has my rate gone up - from 7% to 9.2% a $200 increase per month, I am supposed to pay $519.16 for escrow!!! So now my monthly payment has gone from $1000/mo to $1800/mo! all with a weeks notice. They will not accept payment without escrow included.

So now I am supposed to request a hardship and see if they will spread my back taxes over 24 or 36 months. No guarantee they will. Also if they do it probably won't be before my Payment due October 1. So I am supposed to come up with an additional $800 for next week. Also they claim they were able to legally do this because my taxes were delinquent, which I argued they were not since I was under a payment arrangement of which I have notarized, dated documentation to proove. They do not care, now I owe them the money and they can't assure me I will be granted hardship. minus the fact the escrow is including future taxes which adds $130/month anyway and doesn't get included in the hardship request.

I am trying my hardest to get a refi with another company. I have contacted my State Attorney General and I believe I am entitled to restitution under the class action lawsuit, PA gets 8million for consumers. hopefully I will see some windfall of that.
