A month ago my husband posted an online order for business cards at VistaPrint.com.

I was really surprised when, checking our bank / credit card I verified 2 unauthorized charges showing: one for this Shopping Essentials thing and the other for A Vista Print Rewards Program. They were identified as: AP9*SHOPPINGESSENTIA-V and AP9*VISTAPRINTRWRDS -V

I only recognized the name Vista Pint on it so I visited the website and tried to found out anyhting about this charge by verifying the order my husband filled. There was no explanation to it at all, I end up ate the FAQ section of their web site and actually found informatuon about this program and also a cancellation form to it, but there was no explanation on how we got enrolled on this. So I called my bank and the person working on their dispute department made a call to the Vista Print company, where a person called Andrei explained that actaully BOTH charges were made through their website when the order for the business cards was submitted.

Looks like at the end of the purchasing process comes up a pop up window where you enter you email adress, and by doing it you are actually activating both so called " rewards program". I'm positive my husband probably inseretd his email thinking: 1. it was still part of the purchasing process, 2. it would probably be used to receive the confirmation receipt and maybe some kind of electronic newsletter.

One other thing to consider is that he never received any kind of confirmatio for this "enrollment", there was no email or letter sent to explain any of the programs, not even a "thank you for enrolling" email, which definitely would've caught our attention.

So the conference call among Andrei ( representative of Vista Print and Shopping ESsentials) the Bank and myself ended up well with Andrei stating that the charges would be reveresed in 2 to 5 business days. Let's see how it goes.

One piece of advice - When I first called the bank the dispute person told me to call the Vista Print Company directly, but because I read the other Reports here I insisted on having the Bank intervention on this. From what I read here, whenever you contact the fraudulent company directly things can be pretty difficult, but I guess because I requested the Bank to call them they imediatelly agrre on reversing the charges. So, insist on your bank intervention, might be the best way to get your money back.
