She tells the interested parties that the new classes are cancelled in order to draw them into an additional paid subscription for training, whereas the classes were to be free and part of a Bally Total Fitness membership. These free classes, supposedly included with membership, are the selling point to prospective members.
When contacting Bally Total Fitness, their phone system does not allow you to speak with corporate, located in California. Every toll free phone number prevents you from speaking to a live person except to pay your bills.
When you Google Bally Total Fitness and especially include Bankruptcy, you get years and endless links to their struggling situation. But this does not entitle them to install April Suttons to rip people off. And her response its a free class and we can cancel them at any moment and last moment.

Bally Total Fitness has an unsympathetic approach to customer service, and this is further proved in a Yelp.com discussion started by a consumer pleading with other Bally members for advice on how to cancel his Bally Total Fitness membership.
