I wanted to try a new company online to order livestock.  I found AquariumCreationsOnline.com and wanted to give it a try. On February 17, I ordered $616 worth of stuff.  After a couple days and I didn't receive a confirmation of shipping, etc.  I called and left a message and also an email. On February 21st, Tom the owner called me and we had a great conversation on his company and the quality of his livestock.  I was confident that this could potentially be a great place to order moving forward. He indicated that some of the stuff I ordered was being quarantined and prepped for shipment and he wanted to put some of the fish I ordered together to make sure they were getting along and eating.  I was fine with it and thought how great Tom was and really cared.

I waited another week and a half and on February 28th, I emailed and left a phone message for Tom to check the status of my order.  I didn't hear back so I waited until March 3rd to reach out again.  Finally Tom sends me an email regarding his son and that he was in a serious accident and was in a coma.  I felt terrible for the family and wished his family the best and my condolences.  Here is the email:

"On Mar 3, 2016, at 9:26 PM, Order Manager <orders.aquariumcreationsonline@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi Jon - most of the delay has been because of what's going on with my stepson. I believe I spoke to you about it. Just in case I hadn't.  David is in a coma from a motorcycle accident 2 weeks ago. His cerebral pressure is through the roof and he has 2 bleeds in the head. We have been spending almost all of our time at the hospital because he is critical. I did do the test with multiple females and it didn't go well. Too much fighting. We have been feeding our swimming pets daily and heading back to the hospital. Over the weekend I will see if everything is ready, etc. I will touch base with you next week. I appreciate your patience. As you know we are a very close family business and this has been just so hard on everyone.
Tom"

Of course, I wanted to respect that so I indicated to focus on his son David and just cancel my order and refund it.  I didn't want to burden him at a time like this.  On March 21st, Tom sends me an email that says that his son David is slipping away and that he would refund me the money.

Jon - sorry last week was awful, Davids been slipping away and we've been staying close to the hospital. I am trying to take care of things and will be doing your refund tonight or in the morning when I stop by the shop.
Tom"

Through all of this, I still had confidence in Tom and his business and really wanted to try him out and told him this.  I wrote:

I'm so sorry to hear about David. My prayers go out to you and your family. Please let me know when you are ready for some business. Even though we have technically not done business together, I am confident you are the right person so once everything is good on your end, I'll be here. "

I waited over a week and then wanted to reach out again just to check the status.  On March 29th, I emailed again.  Tom responded:

"On Mar 30, 2016, at 11:03 AM, Order Manager <orders.aquariumcreationsonline@gmail.com> wrote:

Jon - I will take care of it this week.We have been at the hospital almost all the time. David's had 3 operations this week alone to inflate his lungs. Still asleep but they are trying to get him to breath better to get rid of the pneumonia.  I understand I should of done it last week but my brain is a fiz right now, I haven't been over to the shop in over a week. My grandson has been taking care of feeding and topping off water on everything for us. I will get over there and take care of the refund asap. Again my apologies. "

I really wanted to be sympathetic with his situation so I gave him some time to get the refund back.  On April 5th, I reached out again to check the status. From then on, Tom went completely silent.  I've left numerous phone messages and emails with no success at all.  The most recent being today 5/27/16. I'm just so disappointed in this.  We are not talking a couple dollars or a couple hundred.  This is $616 that Tom and AquariumCreationsOnline.com ran off with. I'm very disappointed with this particular case because when we spoke on the phone, I really liked what I heard but I guess everyone can put up a front.  I was also extra sympathetic with this situation because of his son but now I am wondering if that was all made up too.  I sure hope not and I am sometimes too trusting which is exactly why I am now short $616. I really didn't even want to file this report but hopefully this report helps others.
