This place si such a rip off!! Took 3 solid gold & diamond rings, 1 necklace and 1 watch...only gave me $163 for jewelry i found out later to be worth much more!!

The 2 diamond rings i sold to them each had real diamonds in them. They offered me nothing for one diamond and only $25 for the other.  I sold them the rings and said i wanted the daimonds back. I was told they would be ready in 4 days.

I went back after the 4 days and was told the diamonds werent ready yet. This was a friday. I called back the next monday and they said they still were not ready. By this point, im getting very aggravated and just want the diamonds or to buy the rings back. I go there and tell the woman behind the counter that i either want the diamonds or i want to buy the rings back. She says the rings arent in the store.

By now its been over a week and im getting really mad. The next day she calls out of nowhere and says the diamonds are ready to be picked up...BUT they had chipped one of the diamonds trying to get it out of the setting.

I picked the diamonds up anyway, and took them to another jewelry store to be appraised. The diamond they were going to give me $25 for i was offered $700 cash or $1000 store credit. There is no way they didnt know how much this diamond was worth. They were just trying to make an enormous amout of profit off of me and rip me off in the process.

They diamond they chipped i was told wasnt worth anything BECAUSE they had chipped it. Itook it back to them and told them i wanted a replacement diamond. They said no, that it wasnt their problem.

I am now in the process of filing a lawsuit.

I was not "pressured" but they are untrustworthy!

AUTHOR: AmyMart - (United States of America)

I too have filed a ROR on this company. I just returned from a hotel scam that they hosted and not only did the man incorrectly measure my diamond, he called someone on the phone named "Marshall" for a price! This "Marshall", whomever he may be, never looked at my diamond and told him to offer me 200.00! Do you know that I was at Earth Treasures this morning in Eatontown, NJ and they gave me a price of $1250.00???? I was also at Ginny's Gem's in Howell, NJ where they gave me identical information regarding the cut and clarity! I did not feel pressured at any moment by these scam artists BUT anyone dealing with this company who does not know the value of their merchandise best beware!!!!!

Careful Gold Selling

AUTHOR: Richard - (U.S.A.)

I am a professional metals buyer and spent a couple of days with this company at one of their hotel buys and @ one of their retail outlets. I can safely say watching how they work that never is any pressure applied for the buy. The staff is professional, courteous, and simply makes an offer to the customer and either the customer takes it or they part company.

I think that they are profiting (based on market) nearly 300% on their gold purchases and about 80% on the silver coins but again that is their right as there are no laws, restrictions or regulations of any type on what is a fair exchange sort of like going to an auto dealer and trading in your 4 year old car. You know what I mean, if you are lucky they will pay Kelly's blue book price and not a penny more and detail it and you can ride by and find your old car with a big red and black sign that reads something like "LOW MILEAGE-LATE MODEL-ONLY $XXXXXX" which totals almost double what they gave you, the same car that they told you that they could only give you "$xxxxx" the same car the called "old".

The moral to this of course is, like anything else we need to shop around the gold and silver that we trying to sell. You wouldn't think of making a large purchase for a car or perhaps a flat screen tv without doing your homework and would not go to only one business to shop, then why on earth would you not follow the same logic for something that is trading for almost $1550.00 per oz?

I do feel bad for this person with the bad ARA Cash 4 Gold, but they did nothing wrong you did. The held no gun to your head to sell. You need to own up to the error on your part. As for the diamonds, why on earth would you leave these valuable stones with a gold buyer that cannot take a diamond out of a ring in front of you and while you wait? Unless they admit that they did chip your diamond or hopefully you have a recent appraisal with pictures, proving in court that they are liable will be difficult even with legal representation and quite frankly I think that you need swallow this one and accept the facts as they, learn a lesson from it and move on.
