Ara Financial Rip-off debt Lombard Illinois

They called me today, saying thatIc owed Texaco 1084.00 of a debt that I paid off over 10 years ago. They said that Texaco would receive an out of court payment of 642.00 to avoid court fees.They immediately tried to work out a settlement paymenty but could give me no further details about why this account was still being charged other than my account was one of many that still needed to be closed.

When I challenged it, I was handed over to someone who was said to be handling the agreement who was nice at first but then grew very rude. She said that Texaco has attempted to settle this claim before and sent me many letters over the last year to clear this up so now they wanted their money.

I never received any notice from them. However, I recently opened up a new line of credit with Texaco so I asked why would they allow that if I still owed them money. To that they said that some companies do that after a period of time. I said if I owed as much as claimed why still.

To that they said that they bet it was a small amount. When I asked to receive notification in the mail. The lady got rude, saying that they wouild put this as affirmed for court on my credit report and that they were not a mailing service and hung up in my face!
