===================== Arise Virtual Solutions, Inc Willow CSN  C T CORPORATION SYSTEMArise Virtual Solutions Inc., Willow CSN Incorporated C T CORPORATION SYSTEM Ripoff, Fraud, Criminals, Abuse, Miramar Florida

I signed up to be a Arise Certified Professional In hopes of being able to work from home. I had heard great things about Willow CSN, and thought the same would apply under their new name "ARISE". First off i was surprised at the lack of support i got through the whole process. First you have to pay for your background check $20. Then you have to Incorporate yourself $150 and last you have to pay $100 for their test to be certified and Start applying for work with them. Once you are certified you can start looking for company's to work for though Arise.

Also once you have paid all that money you will need to have a bare computer with basically nothing installed , for me that meant a new one from ebay $150. You can not have dial up internet, it must be broadband and you must have 2 internet providers in case one goes down, in my area broadband is about 45-50$ x2. You will need a battery back up surge protector($40 eBay). A NEW phone line IT MUST BE NEW($30 a month). and you will also have to pay to get trained with the company you chose to work for, the prices vary.

I spend about $600 Just to get started with them and to top it all off THE REASON FOR MY COMPLAINT ON THIS PAGE,,,,,,

********THEY DON'T HAVE WORK******** I have been certified for 5 months and they have not had a single client to apply for in all this time. On their forums there is countless amounts of people with the same complaints, WE HAVE BEEN RIPED OFF.

I have called Arise almost daily since about the third month and they know me by name pretty much, I have yet to speak to a manager or anyone that can help me get my money back.

WHY DOES ARISE KEEP TAKING PEOPLES MONEY IF THEY KNOW THEY DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH WORK FOR EVERYONE THAT APPLIES AND PAYS????? THEY KNOW HOW MANY CLIENTS THEY HAVE AND THEY KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE PAY TO WORK FOR THESE CLIENTS AND THEY ALSO KNOW THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH WORK FOR EVERYONE YET THEY CONTINUE TO TAKE THEIR MONEY!!!!!

I WOULD ADVISE NOONE APPLY TO WORK FOR ARISE AND IF YOU ARE IN THIS SAME SITUATION THEN YOU SHOULD POST YOUR COMMENTS HERE.

CAN SOMEONE HELP ME WITH THIS?

#1 Consumer Suggestion

a suggestion

AUTHOR: Sms1361 - (U.S.A.)

Hopefully I can offer something more than opinion or argument. Work at home jobs are difficult to find and set up. Obviously there are alot of separate issues people have with tech support, human resources, and the paycheck situation.

However, may I suggest that if you cannot return your equipment just deal with the loss of funds for "training" and apply that experience to another opportunity such as West Corporation. It is a major outsource center with a great rep. I never worked for them from home, rather I was in a call center. Customer service is a bit too stressful for me personally but the company pays fair, offers benefits, and has a professional staff.

Remember any major work at home company will attract tons of positive and negative reports just as "Arise" has. I hope you find this helpful if you have not sought any resolution thus far.

Very Sad!!!

AUTHOR: M.B2009 - (USA)

Hi, I have been with arise for the last year, at first i thought it was a great opportunity because i got to work at home and make decent money. My first client was very easy but i wasn't making what i wanted so i paid for another training class and payed 250$ for 6 weeks of unpaid intensence training for Carniv*l Cruis* L*nes. I LOVED my job that i did with Carny it was fun and i really enjoyed what i did. Soon after i got out of training they decided they where going to split everyone into different departments, and changed pay and many others rugulations. Thankfully i got to stay in sales and i made good money around 15-19 average an hour. All of the sudden hours dissapered and i went from working 50 to 10 or less a week. I understand that it gets slow and certain times but arise kept telling us there would be more hours and none came. You have to fight for hours on every client and they have cut the pay on serveral of the clients. I found a great forum workplacelikehome.com and arise has done really shady things to their ic's. In almost 1 year i have never spoken to anyone from arise even when they missed up Everyones pay, it took 2 weeks for them to even admit they where wrong and finally fixed my chack which was about a 300$ difference. Finally arise has cut carniv*ls pay and now i would go from 15-19 an hour to 8 if im lucky, as well as the other carny applications. This is not fair to be able to limit hours to almost nothing cut pay by half to many clients not just mine, and still be offering more and more classes when their are no hours availble when you get out of training. I have decided to leave arise and move to a better work at home company with bennifits, support, communication and i do not have to pay anything to them, ecspecially the 20 bucks arise takes out of every paycheck for what???

I would stay far away from them, they are a horrible company that only cares about money, and nothing else. Yes they are legit you can work from home and make money but there are so many other companies that are so much better than arise that you don't pay any money to, can get bennefits and get so much support. Don't waste your time and money on this company.

Which Companies with Arise Should I NOT Work for???

AUTHOR: Jon - (USA)

I would like to know which companies NOT to work for... I had a friend apply with Interval Exchange and they got DENIED!!! She did Everything right, it's just that the company is way too strict on qualifying people.... Any idea about Barnes and Noble or Carnival Cruise Lines??? I see Carnival available a LOT which makes me wonder if they drop people like flies or if they truly need more people...  I know Apple is tough...  My mom works for them and is constantly taking classes on a weekly basis and has to meet (talk on phone) to her performance facilitator weekly as well...  But she makes almost 2 grand per month with Apple Sales and she enjoys working from home!  Any help is appreciated on what companies NOT to work for!!  I just looked and saw that Barnes and Noble is limited and not year round, but Carnival Customer Service says Year Round work...  Thanks!

AUTHOR: 4 Ur Eyes - (U.S.A.)

I had worked for Arise , and yes it has areas that can be improve but when u call 50 times 4 THAT DAY about that same issues IT GETS OLD PPLZ as if u that only one in that world. There are other pplz that were in front of u. As for that commit on Carlos havin ur husband fired is funny n not true he is a small fish in a large pond n has no power to do so.

As for tech. support that as more ticket than pplz to answer them is true , yes they need more individuals but when u r assisting a computer illiterate customer who's ego is greater than is IQ is not easy n my favorite mr. MIT who knows everything but still calls in to insult our reps. while pplz who need that help as to wait.

Yes they need to improve some areas of there business startin with IT n customer service. But with any business it takes time trust me wen I say I have worked for numerous companies e.g an airline that have been around for a while n until u have to call n have a convo wit reservation fr 4hrs r been transfered numerous time u will appreciate arise.
AGAIN ITS AN INVESTMENT PPLZ SO STOP SAYIN THEY HAVE NO HOURS uR RUNNING UR OWN BUSINESS UR EXPENSES FOR START UP AS NOTHING TO DO WIT ARISE CLAIM DEM IN UR TAX RETURN PPLZ.
ONE THING I CAN GIVE THEM CREDIT FOR IS THAT NO FEES OR JOB AVAIBILITY ARE HIDDEN. IT WRITTEN N KNOWN TO U THAT EMPLOYMENT IS NOT GAURANTEE. ALSO IF UR WORK EXPERIENCE DONT MATCH THAT JOB REQUIREMENT Y WONDER Y U NEVER GOT WOW!!!!!

I make sure every customer knew what they were gettin in to , n as for call backs . Working from Home real deal.

AUTHOR: Jaime - (U.S.A.)

Been an Arise acp for 5 yrs and do make an income. But the cost to do so is very high. Just having a corporation that makes less than I made in High School Part time almost is crazy. During my 5 yrs I also worked for live ops which was much easier but way less money and pages and pages of offer you MUST READ. I would have normally thought some of these comments where not true, until last year when i brought my boyfriend into Arise as an agent. Well they took our money for classes and barely gave you hours. Made you take insults from customer and monitored your calls badly if you had any attitude. Just to pay you $7.70 per hour or less. We are both stuck because no one is hiring that will pay more or ever give benefits. My boyfriend was terminated from both of his clients within an hour of each because Carlos Yanez at Arise didn't like him. So we had no income for over 3 months. After spending money on phone lines, computers, headset and supplies.

Also alot of the actually employees of Arise are family members so you know how that one goes. If you go in person to their offices no one will speak to you other than the receiptist once you are buzzed in. It never used to be like that before. I knew everyone's face and have meet them from time to time. Now they are all in locked down.

We need better jobs in Florida ........

Good Faith Effort

AUTHOR: Poolgoddess - (U.S.A.)

Well, I like many others attempted to work with Arise. I have 5 years independent contractor experience working from home for several different legitimate companies. I also did my research on Arise, and knew it was very, very easy to get terminated from your SOW. Therefore, I had all my finances, licensing, and equipment ready to go before I ever applied to Arise. I paid all my fees, got client qualified, and attended all trainings and passed the tests with good scores. That's where my problems began.

When receiving my logins, they did not work. Upon several res center tickets, 3 different live chats, and emailing everyone I knew got me nowhere. In the first 30 days on the project, I contacted Arise tech support, trainers, and PF's every other day to resolve an issue that I had NO CONTROL OVER.

I am a business owner, and I personally would not treat my contractors with such disrespect. I was terminated over logins that would never work, which I tried my utmost to resolve on my end. The techs would say my system is fine, all their troubleshooting did nothing, and they would "check on it" and update my ticket. Sure they did-updated it by closing the whole ticket without any resolution.

Now I have a bad mark on my performance and I am unable to EVER service that client again. It makes me think llloooonnnngggg and hard about even requesting another project, because if they couldn't get my logins for one, how would the next work out??

Please note that I GAVE UP a current project making good money to even start the Arise process, and I got a lot of grief from my husband over spending money on a SCAM so foolishly. Upon voicing my opinion in other forums, I was slammed for my "sour grapes" attitude, when all I was really trying to do was warn the newbies what they were in for....

The Truth....

AUTHOR: Mieke - (U.S.A.)

I have been an agent with Arise for about five years; Kara, who notes she worked for about a year, has been determined to slam Arise at every chance she gets. If you read some of the complaints, notice the talk about an employer / employee relationship- a HUGE red flag that indicated they DID NOT bother to read the Arise Business Model. Essentially, you are in business for yourself. As with starting any business, there is initial investment. If this scares you or you do not agree with the model- then DO NOT apply.

It is a choice. However, to not read the information before continuing only to whine about it later is not only unprofessional, it is juvenile.

No companies will please all of the people all of the time. However, the VAST majority of people who have contracted with Arise are happy with the company- myself included and like I said, I have five years in.

So do your research and when looking at the complaints, notice it is the same people finding new ways to tantrum.

Momtimes3 - how long have you been with Arise?

AUTHOR: Kara - (U.S.A.)

The resolution center is a newer component of Arise. It is just one more way for Arise to blow you off. You even admitted that they are slow to respond. READ the complaints. Do a search on the internet. There are a lot more people who are unhappy with Arise than you think. Prior to the resolution center, if you had an issue, you had to email different Arise employees and THEY WOULD NEVER RESPOND, that is why they implemented the resolution center.

ARISE IS THE BIGGEST RIPOFF OUT THERE. They train too many Agents for a client only to tell most of the class they did not pass. I am working on my Masters Degree. My college final exams have never been as misleading or evasive as the tests administered by Arise for client certification.

I advise everyone to stay away from Arise.

Arise is not a Scam and Kara is lying

AUTHOR: Momtimes3 - (U.S.A.)

I have escalated issues and concerns to the 'Managers' and these employees do not respond to you (Connie Adcock, Nanette Hampton, Joey Moore, Lister Lestrade, Elizabeth Torres, Maria Onofre, Wendy Thomas, Brad Kerley, Lev Oliver, Angie Castellanos, etc.) Arise demands that the ACPs act professionally, but how about professionalism in return?

Half of those people do not work there...how could you be emailing them? We are told to go thru the resolution center and I have and while they may be slow sometimes, I always get my questions answered

Arise is a scam...where are the hours and the money that we should be earning?

AUTHOR: Kara - (U.S.A.)

I have been with Arise for over a year and have found them to be very unprofessional. I have made numerous attempts (phone, email, and 'Resolution Center') to get issues resolved. The issues are never resolved; furthermore, their technical support is so inept that they put the blame on the ACP when the issue is with Arise. Arise has many technical issues that they need to resolve. Their systems go down at least once a week and they do not compensate you for lost time.

I have escalated issues and concerns to the "Managers" and these employees do not respond to you (Connie Adcock, Nanette Hampton, Joey Moore, Lister Lestrade, Elizabeth Torres, Maria Onofre, Wendy Thomas, Brad Kerley, Lev Oliver, Angie Castellanos, etc.) Arise demands that the ACPs act professionally, but how about professionalism in return?

I do not know anyone who is working with Arise who is making much more than minimum wage. While it is true that I no longer pay for daycare, since I am only making about $5 per hour working for Arise, so I need to work almost 80 hours per week just to make my mortgage each month - not what was inferred by three different Arise instructors with three different clients.

By the way, anyone still considering this scam, if you sign up for a certification course, you only have ONE attempt to pass the quizzes and exam. If you fail any single portion, then you have to pay again to retake the course. Oh, you also have to pass QA on live calls or you do not certify. I have previous experience working in a real call center and have never been so pressured as I have been with Arise.

In life, emergencies happen...whether you are the employer or employee. With Arise, do not think that you can have a life, not even one with a single emergency. Case in point, a few months ago I had a family emergency that resulted in an immediate family member being hospitalized. I needed to release my hours do to this emergency. Now, if I was working for a legitimate company, they would understand emergencies happen. Not Arise. I emailed my 'mentor' to advise of my situation and even offered to fax copies of the ER documents. NO RESPONSE. But do you know they fired me, excuse me 'terminated my SOW', with my client?

All everyone is saying is BEWARE.

Here are the companies Arise has as 'clients'.

Too Risky Business

AUTHOR: Millicent - (U.S.A.)

Many people are very successful for years with working with Arise, however this does not mean that the company practices fair, honest and ethical business practices.

Working as a independent contractor, it will cost between $500 to $1200 to begin working for a client. Most people once they pass the client exams will make this initial investment back in 30 days or less. Do not assume that working hard will keep your contract from being terminated.

Once employed, it may take months to enroll in your first class, I waited almost six months for my first client, because opportunities fill up extremely fast. Also, some clients are better than others to work for.

Arise is not the type of company that anyone should begin with if they need money right away. A set service fee is deducted monthly from your salary, problems are slow to resolve with technical equipment and pay checks, and many clients require weekend hours with a minimum of 20 hours per week. Some clients offer very poor training, some have very high sale expectations and some will terminate 50% to 80% of their contractors every six months.

Currently, there are more complaints against Arise's business practices than compliments, and this is a warning that the company is a high risk investment of time, talent and money.

I Don't Have Positive Experience

AUTHOR: Nicolettes - (U.S.A.)

Arise is a good idea overall.

That's a fact that you have to pay an awful lot of money by the time you can start working.

It's also a fact that they deduct a fee from you bi-weekly which is fine.

What is not fine however that if you have any more complex issues there is nobody you can talk to. They wont call you back, you have to go to a ticket system which read by ignorant people, since they never give you a satisfying answer. You will have to go back and forth.

It's also not fine that you're not getting compensated if their system is down or you cant work because of THEIR fault! And if I wont catch it I would not have been compensated for some hours that I was entitled to. They said they sorry and pay me the next cycle.

BUT you will get deducted money anytime for example if your bank rejects your direct deposit. You won't know why because the bank says they dont see an attempt. You just end up paying for someone's mistake. Nobody cares. They hold the money, they can deduct from you but you can't deduct from them!

I'm usually one of the satisfied people not someone who always complains but since I started working with Arise Im going from problem to problem. It's getting very frustrating!

This can be an okay part time job but I would not dare to rely on them full time.

Active Arise Certified Professional

AUTHOR: Ruthie - (U.S.A.)

my experience has been quite the opposite. You must remember that the opportunities will follow retail trends- if it is not a busy retail time of year, you may not see as many opportunities posted. Did you begin the process just after the holidays? If so, this may be a factor to consider.

With regard to the workstation compliance issue- their workstation requirements are posted on their website- you do not even have to log in to view them. Did you not read them before starting the process? Your post makes it seem like you were not aware only to be presented with it at a later time.

In any event, it appears as though this opportunity was not for you; I hope you find something that is a better fit. I wish you the best :-D

Thank you,
Ruthie

Arise Is NOT A Scam

AUTHOR: Nicole - (U.S.A.)

I have worked as an independent contractor for 3 years and it's my only full time job. No where does Arise GUARANTEE work. You enter into this as a business opportunity. As a business owner, and adult, you are not owed anything. If there are no clients posting for new agents then that is not Arise's fault.

Tons of clients post around the holidays. Some for seasonal work with a chance to work for them permanently and some just permanent. You are never guaranteed a spot.

You took that risk and you don't have a right to fault Arise for the lack of work during the time you came onboard.

It's all about timing. When I officially came onboard there were several clients hiring and I was accepted into one which I still work for.

A friend of mine also started as an IC with Arise last year and she has since had 3 clients right out of the gate.

There are plenty of clients, plenty of hours with some clients, and finally....

Arise is NOT a scam or a ripoff.

Arise is not a SCAM!

AUTHOR: Iwah4u - (U.S.A.)

I have been with Arise since Sept of 2007 and have had over 4 clients already. In fact, I am training on another client as I am typing. I do not know how you can say Arise is a SCAM when they are giving you the opportunity to run your own call center from your own home. Arise does not guarantee everyone who applies and become certified that they will get a job. Every client have different requirements as to who they want to contract with them.

The economy is bad right now and when I first got certified right before the holiday season, there were so many opportunities available. Agents were training on several clients at a time. I too spent about $500 to get started. I even purchased a new Dell computer for work purposes only. I even bought the phone and headset they recommended. But when I trained on my first client and decided it wasn't right for me when I started taking calls for certification, I did not come on here and report Arise as being a scam and just waited for another client instead.

I'm glad I waited because the new client I trained on and worked just for the holiday season, I made back my initial investment and more. I also trained on another client while working that seasonal client and worked for them for over 6 months making $14-$15 an hour before I decided to try a new client which I am averaging $16-$18 an hour.

Who knows how much I will make with the client I am training on now but I will not come on here to file a claim if I do not make any money because everyone's experiences are different. Some find a great client with plenty of hours and call volume with good pay, while others get stuck with client that do not have enough hours to go around with a lower pay scale.

I do not know what your situation was when you decided to type this rip off report against Arise, but right now I see in the portal 2 client classes being offered that you can sign up to train on and start working soon!

Nothing but positive

AUTHOR: Thecrew - (U.S.A.)

I have worked with other companies that provide free training and the opportunity for making money was just not there. Arise has allowed me to form my own business, be my own boss, and work successfully for clients. Yes, there are always start up costs to forming your own business (which is what you are under Arise). They have always been upfront in training costs and honestly, in any business you start, there are training costs! You can't open a franchise without paying fees and training costs to the company either! So when you look at working under Arise, you need to focus on it from a independent business point of view - NOT as an employee or independent contractor like other work at home opportunities. Arise has been wonderful to me and like a smart person, I have researched this company high and low and have found that the only time I come across negative opinions is because the people posting them have not done their homework and research and had a misconception regarding the process.

Please Dont Give Up

AUTHOR: Eag011 - (U.S.A.)

I am a current an independent contractor for Arise. I knew up front what was needed and that information allowed me to make an informed decision as to whether I wanted to take the training courses. I've worked for them for a year for 3 major companies. I also knew that to get the opportunities that I would have to watch for them and apply. I'm not negating your concerns, I just think you have to really do your homework before you spend your hard earned cash. They didn't make me do anything, I chose to join Arise and they advise that you will have expenses which include all the things you mentioned. There are other work from home companies, but basically they all require that you have a plain old telephone with no features, a computer with high speed internet and some don't have a cost for training. I really hope you find what you're needing.

I never said i bought all that stuff from Arise!!
Arise requires you have everything i mentioned before you start working with them so i went out and bought it all on my own and in the end they didnt have any work for me and they should of told me this before i spend my money buying all this stuff.

However i did have to pay them their fees which totaled to about $200 and the training you do with them also cost money.

This company is not as holy as they try to seem!!

BEWARE!!!!!

Unsure how this can be a scam

AUTHOR: Delores - (U.S.A.)

I am unsure how this can be considered Arise scamming people and taking their money when the majority of the money paid went to other companies than Arise. Arise is not paid for the background check and they are not paid for the incorporation filing fee. This gentleman did not purchase a computer or DSL or the second phone line from Arise either. The only money he paid to Arise was for the training. I can't see how it can be considered them scamming all that money from people when they got very, very little of it.

Please see the article "4 Real Jobs You Can Do From Home" by Liz Pulliam (http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/CollegeAndFamily/RaiseKids/4realJobsYouCanDoFromHome.aspx) for more info on Arise.
