This all started in Jan. of 07 our furnace went out so we went to Home Depot because i remembered seeing a display free interest for 12 months so we left our name and address in the box provided thinking we were dealing with Home Depot. we recieved a call the following day from Home Depot and they said they would send someone out from ARS Service Express. I questioned that because i believed we were dealing with Home Depot and asked why another party was being involved and the question was side stepped.
Anyway it was cold we were without heat and a represenative (salesman) And what a salesman he was. everything a buyer wanted to hear as far as service, of ARS comes to our house, We wrote a contract with him for a new heat pump and air unit.
That was the beginning of the most unproffesional business experience we have ever encountered. It started out that they were suppose to be at our home at 9am. they were also installing a water heater for us so their plumber was the 1st. to arrive. he had no idea what he was suppose to do here and he had no water heater with him. so he disappeared for several hours, Also at 8:30 am. the power company showed up to cut our power because ARS stated we needed to upgrade to a 200 amp service so the power was cut to our house totally.
Now granted this is Florida but it was still cold. So then the 2 furnace installers showed up, ripped out the old furnace and air conditioning but couldn't continue because they had no power, and no portable generator, and NO ARS electrician to be seen. the electritian did arrive about 1pm. in the mean time the furnace installers made several request to their office for a generator which was ignored.
Long story short i never seen such an unorganized mess of a business in my life. We had to get on their electrician to quit talking about his personal home to the other workers while on our time with no power yet to our house. 11 hours later we finally had heat. With in a few days we were getting calls from a recorded message from ARS to have the service done on the unit.
This was insane being it was only in a week or two at the most A few weeks later after my complaints to Home Depot the manager of ARS called me, he stated that for all our agravation he would be sending a gift certificate for us to go to supper, like all else more wind. in the contract it stated we would recieve a 1year service plan 2 visits.
So several days ago about Wednesday of last week i called ARS and again got a incompetent person. I told her i wanted the service check up she asked when it was installed i stated Jan. she responded "it may be to young" my response was it's been in for 7 months and i get 2 checks in a 1 year period so common sense says once during the cooling season and once during the heating season so each part can be checked during it's normal operation.
Finally she set me up with an appointment for today July 31 between 10 am. and 2 pm. So just as when the installation took place we sat and waited, and true to form there was no show. no phone call no nothing! finally at 3 pm i called, and yes after 5 hours of MY Time wasted i was a bit irrate but not surprised at their response that they called this morning and i wasn't home (THEIR WORDS) again more wind with no action.
I agree with the poster from Texas they are the most rude business when it comes to customer service i ever saw. To me it appears our time is nothing but when it comes to paying for their services it's gold. Personally i believe they ARS SERVICE EXPRESS should stick to sewer cleaning because when it comes to SERVICE they always talk CRAP! and it appears to be breach of contract in my book!
