I bought a new Seagate hard drive from Ascendtech in early November. I installed it the day after Christmas. It was dead.
Seagate won't provide an exchange since Ascendtech buys the drives from Seagate as an OEM. Ascendtech only provides a 30-day warranty. As 45 dyas had passed, I was screwed out of $70.
Don't believe Ascendtech's claim that the products that they sell are covered by the manufacturers of those products. It just isn't true.
