I have a free phone from Assurance Wireless that I cannot use. Where I live, I get no signal so it's useless, however, now that I am away from home due to involvement in an emergency situation (with a loved on in the hospital for the last week +), I have been able to use it. Because I needed additional minutes/texts, I paid the $6.05 required and received them. When I got low on texts, I added 250 more minutes/texts and they TOOK THE 94 MINUTES REMAINING ON MY CALL BALANCE and replaced them with 250. They did add texts to the 11 I had (now have 261 texts) but ONLY 250 call minutes! How is this even legal?!! I PAID FOR THOSE 94 MINUTES AND THEY TOOK THEM! This company is a ripoff. I usually cannot use it and now due to their "we can't add additional minutes a second time, we can only REPLACE them" crap...I don't want this dayum thing anymore! I am not finished with this...as soon as the current situation ends, I will be contacting everyone from Virgin to Congress to find out how they can screw customers over like this and get away with it. It's WRONG and, like so many other injustices, MUST BE CORRECTED! Just because they are "free" phones, doesn't mean they get to add additional screws to users. Peace to all...and when injustice exists...FIGHT IT!

i was approached by people in the street promoting assurance wireless phone service. i was told i had to cancel my pgone service with safe link and i did not mind that because safe link is terrible the phones are just a piece of garbage. assurance wireless has sent me many applications askinf for more and more documents. i have provided all truthful documents and no response and no phone. when i go to the internet to check on the status it only says application recieved no customer service nothing. if this is a government service then why isnt the government investigating all these complaints. i to am very low income

to the consumer witing this report, I definitely feel your pain with regard to this company, i have had 3 instances in signing up myself and a couple of relatives, I would like to make a couple of suggestions to assist you along your way. respectfully, your complaint isnt as clear as it should be and your correspondence with the company should be clear, concise and emotion free. Your state should have an agency that over sees  telephone services, contact them, also contact lifeline, also, contact experience@assurancewireless.com as well as virgin mobile corporate and sprint corporate. provide dates of whom you have contacted, offer emails you have recieved, what date did you initially purchase 6.05 worth of min;text? how much did you have prior? how much did you have after? who/when did you talk to about this, their response? did you request escalation? did you get a ticket number? its all in the details. assurance customer service wont help you, so you have to go forward  to corporate, you will get assistance but you need those details it takes a bit of time and patients but you can get resolution
