ALL of these lenders offer extentions, yes you will pay more cause it rolls that payment to the end of the loan, so you will pay Interest on that till the end, But if your down on your luck and thats the only option sometimes you just have to except your gonna pay in the end to get out of a bad spot now. If your smart once your back on your feet you start over paying to try and get that balance resolved as soon as possible. Even if you send in $5 extra a check that money most likly will go to your Principle balance and over time that could save you a few hundred buck and pay off your car a little sooner.
I will say when I started with the company it was very honest about what they could and couldnt do and those we failed on did get refunds. but after the first 2 months the owners Nate and Micheal mustly Nate seemed to get greedy and turned a legit chance to help people into a con job.
And for all those lenders out there not listed above most all have at least defurment programs, and some smaller lenders have mod programs If you have a Credit Union I'm sorry to say your Screwed as out of all the lenders I worked with while I was there only one lender was more heartless then credit unions and that was Chase. If you have Chase I'd recomend go anywhere that will accept you cause Chase on several occations came after clients cars near pay off with +equidy shortly after past due to try and maxiumize their profits.
As for A.D.C. finally looking like they are being shut down congrats I couldnt be happier as I warned them before I left that their treatment of customers would be their down fall if they didnt change tactics and it seems it only took 4 months after my departure for that to come true. I know most of you will probley never see a dime of the money you gave them back but on the bright side at least no one else will be con'd by them, and for that I appluad all of you involved.
If you have one of the mentioned above please try and save your own loan, it is fustrating, but with a little presistance you'll eventually get a rep at the lender willing to help.
And if they mention they dont have a program the best trick is to tell them you know someone that has them for a lender and they had worked with him several months ago, alot of times this will get lender reps to give you your true options.
Best of Luck to you all

You can try to get the lender to agree to release you from responsibility for the difference between what they can sell it for and what you still owed, but there's no guarantee they would, and they're not obligated.
Maybe, just maybe, they'd be willing to modify the loan to make monthly payments affordable, if keeping your loan alive promised to be more profitable than taking a sure loss on a repo.
But you need to find someone there direct to deal with. Anyone outside is just gonna con y'all.
and any such mod would almost certainly add to the principal and lengthen the terms beyond however many months your loan was for. It would merely make monthly payments lower.
You might also try asking them how much they're likely to sell that remaining debt for to a collection agency, and see if they might instead sell that debt to you for a little more, assuming you could afford to settle with them in order to erase the debt.
The only other way to erase the remaining debt, if any, is to declare bankruptcy.
