SECOND EXTENDED WARRANTY SCAM ATTEMPT RECEIVED FROM THIS COMPANY

I received a call from Mike from Auto Processing Center, Santa Ana, CA, 7/19/2013, to offer an extended warranty on my 6-year old vehicle.  Incredibly, this a second attempt to rip me off within a year.  I had previously fallen for their extended warranty scam last Fall for another car I own and authorized a payment so I could review their contract with a promise of a prompt refund if I called within 30 days to cancel. When I received and read the contract listing American Auto Shield as the provider, I saw immediately that there was no chance they would ever pay for a repair because it was packed with exclusionary clauses and provisions so they could easily weasel out of paying any claim, i.e., a completely worthless contract. I called to cancel; they gave me the run around.  I followed up in writing like the others reporting ripoffs. The notarized statement of mileage is absurd since I called within 30 days and the waiting period for coverage hadn't even started. That's part of their scam to make it difficult to cancel. I did everything they asked but they still refused to provide the promised refund so I disputed with my credit card company and recovered the 3 payments. I also filed a complaint with the attorney general as everyone should.

Upon getting this second scam attempt, I decided to listen to Mike's pitch to see if they had made changes in their methods. He offered a 5 year or 100,000 miles policy that he claimed covered everything except consumables for $3,600 lump sum or payments. He said there was a 30 day money back guarantee and all I had to do if I didn't like it is to call 1-888-926-7277 and I'd get a prompt refund.  He said I'd have to decide while on the phone. Same scam so far. I asked who provided the service. He said Enterprise Financial Group.  I asked to look at a sample policy on their website or by e-mail. He said they can't do that but when I make a payment they will send the contract to review. I asked to see their website. He transferred me to a manager. The "manager" told me they don't have a website. He said Auto Processing Center is a subsidiary of Enterprise Financial Group and that's all I need to know. I asked for their address. He said they don't give out addresses which is strange since Mike gave me the address. I ended the call. It's the same scam as before.  I intend to report this to the Attorney General.  These crooks need to be put out of business and prosecuted.

DO NOT FALL FOR THE EXTENDED WARRANTY SCAMS from Auto Processing Center, Vehicle Processing Center, Auto Protection Alliance, American Auto Shield, or Enterprise Financial Group.  If you have made a payment to them, send the cancellation by certified mail and be sure to immediately dispute it with your credit card company and provide them the proof that you followed the scammers cancellation procedures.  These extended warranty scammers are crooks. Don't be fooled into thinking they will ever pay a repair claim.
