April 2015 I contacted the shady company called Auto Star Transport.

I was told for $840 I can have my car transfered from Glendale, Arizona to Lakwood, OH - NO PROBLEM!

Nothing was explained to me. The agent was too concerned with getting my information.

Once scheduled I received a ONE page document that outlined the contract.  Appearantley it is custom to only send 1 of 3 pages - leaving out the information about refunds.

The pick up date was scheduled for May 29, 2015

May 29, 2015 - No Auto Star and no phone calls.

I called to ask why and was told that the first pick up date was not until May 29, 2015 and as a result they don't look until that date.  Not knowing this I explained that we're leaving the state of Arizona and that had I known this a head of time I would have found another carrier.

Afterwards I learned that all this company does is post on a national board that a car needs to ship. The drivers control the pricing. So how is it that they can legally ask me to sign a contract for a set price and then turn around and say "Well the driver is asking for more money, if you don't accept we'll keep looking"

This is an absolute scam to force the consumer to pay more for a service that was origianlly agreed too by contract.

I attempted to cancel because of the bind this company put my family in. I was immediately told "Great, thank you for the $150 that is NOT refundable"

An immediate phone call was made to Auto Star.

Nicholas, the Manager decided that he was doing me a favor, "an exception" as he put it by not canceling my order.  He still acknowledged that under no circumstances would I receive a refund.

Complaints have been filed with Florida's Attorney General, the BBB and the Attorney General in Arizona.

Auto Star was able to locate a driver and thankfully we are moving forward.

My experience with a brokerage was not what I expected and to be quite honest, I was disappointed.

My advise is to make sure you get all of the details before commiting

Auto Star employees acted professional while trying explain the contract to me.

Although I may not agree with the refund process, the fact is I don't have to worry about that because Auto Star did what they were hired to do.
