Avast Online Security WRONGFUL BILLING PRACTICES! Okay they send an email stating that your acct will be automatically submitted to your card. You never gave that permission but okay. So you go online to cancel. There is no way this site will let you cancel. Says wrong password. Then they won't sent a new one. Finally it will tell you that this is an incorrect email. RIGHT - THE EMAIL THEY USED TO SEND YOU THE REMINDER!! Okay, I'll just call. WRONG. Internet

AVAST Internet Security's billing practices are nothing less than crooked.   The product is okay and I probably would have continued it if they were not crooks.  I let this go and continued the product because it is such a hassle to get it canceled.  To start with they automatically bill your credit card.  I never agree to this so if I agreed it must have been in very tiny print or really misleading.  I was going to continue the product, just not the automatic payment process.  I rec'd the email that my card would be billed, with directions on how to go online and cancel subscription.  Okay, I thought well this is good. 

I will cancel the auto pay & just pay as I go, keeping the product.  Then the horror begins.   The site is set up so that it is virtually impossible to cancel a subscription.  It will not take the info which they sent you themselves.  Then it tells you your email is incorrect (the one they used to notify you).    Okay, so just computer problems.  I'll just call the number given and cancel the substruction that way.  NO YOU WON'T.  Why they give the number is beyond my imagination because you cannot do anything by calling the number,  support, payment, cancelation... NOTHING.   They then explain how to go in and set up a a support ticket. 

After telling them you have done that many times, and it is not working  -- not taking your information, DAVID (or the name he gave) told me basically that that was too bad.  I was told that I was doing it wrong.  Good grief, how can you submit a ticket wrong?   I work on/with computers everyday.  Give me a break!  I was then told again I must submit a ticket and "When the support techs ARE READY they will contact you."  ( IF they even get the ticket they MIGHT, AFTER the subscription has been charged.)    I tried again to explain that the system was not working & my tickets were not going through, and that I just wanted simply to handle it by phone.  I asked if he could not do it, could he send me to someone who could.  No way!  

YOU MUST CANCEL ON A THEIR SITE WHICH NEVER WORKS.  THIS IS INTENTIONAL SO YOU WILL GET FRUSTRATED & JUST LET IT GO UNTIL YOU ARE BILLED AGAIN!!!    When I called my credit card to get a note posted not to accept any payment requests from them, the credit card representative was going to just post a note to the acct, not accepting anything from the company.  However, when I told them it was AVAST, they wanted to cancel out my card entirely and give me a new one.  I got the feeling that they have had lots of problems and complaints with this company.  Product itself was okay.  Actually liked it.  But will never ever order it again!!!!
