Bad Boy Designs Took 8 Months to Sand Down HALF of my truck & NOTHING else but refuses to refund my $2500 down-payment?? Glendale Arizona

On July 13th, 2015 I left my 1966 Chevy Pickup Truck and my required deposit of $2500.00 (I paid in cash), with Moe Madrid of Bad Boy Designs in Glendale, AZ. According to Moe, the body work and paint services that I had decided on, would take 2 months to complete. 

I contacted Moe, around mid -September, AFTER the 2 month mark since I hadn't heard from him. I learned that my truck was not yet finished, that he had fallen behind due to other projects he had previously started working on, but promised to have my truck done ASAP.

From that point on, I contacted Moe at LEAST once a month to inquire on the progress being made. Most of the time my calls were avoided however, when I did reach Moe, it seemed like all he had for me were more excuses. My truck remained in Moe's possession for approximately 8 months!!!

I finally removed my vehicle on March 2nd, 2016 and took my business elsewhere after seeing with my own eyes, what kind of 'progress' was made in 8 months. It had started becoming very obvious that I was being given the run around so I decide to head over to Bad Boy Designs and check things out.

I was completely stunned with this so-called professional's negligence not to mention his complete disrespect toward a CUSTOMER'S vehicle, especially after he was already given a $2500.00 down payment. A little over half of my truck had been sanded down to the bare metal and then it had been parked outside so it could sit in the rain and rust!! "Angry" is definitely a gross understatement for what I was feeling toward Moe Madrid at that moment. My truck left that shop with more damage than when I dropped it off, and why?? By the looks of all the pictures he posted of his "completed work", he didn't find my truck "As IMPORTANT' as some of the other jobs he was hired to do. The dates on the pictures proved that while MY truck was supposed to be being painted, etc.. he chose to instead, overlook mine and complete the projects that would be more beneficial to his 'image'.

I wish I could say that this is where my experience with "Bad Boy Designs / Moe Madrid", ended.. but no such luck. My truck is with another shop now however, it was 'missing' a few things like, a set of chrome bumpers and a chrome grill that I, myself, had put on my truck before dropping it off with Moe. When asked by the new shop where these parts were, Moe gave them a huge line of BS; saying how the parts were "bad" and new ones had to be ordered. I was already having to pay more to the second shop due to the damage done to my truck as a result of Moe's carelessness when leaving it out in the rain, but now I've got missing parts to replace too? Really?

To make matters worse, after Moe PROMISED to refund my $2500.00 down payment, he goes right back to avoiding me at all cost. Moe Madrid had not finished even ONE task on my truck, there were no services rendered (He didn't even finish SANDING!)He broke every promise he made, so how exactly can he justify keeping the $2500.00 he required me to pay as a down payment? He never EARNED anything from me.. I sure as hell don't agree with paying $2500.00 for HALF a sanding job!

I took the liberty of checking out some things online regarding Moe and Bad Boy Designs and came across a few different reviews, one of which was almost identical to mine. This leads me to believe that UNETHICAL and unfair business practices are the NORM for Moe Madrid and Bad Boy Designs, well.. at least for some customers. 

This cannot be allowed to go on, something needs to be done. Moe Madrid is accepting down payments when he has no intention of following through with services he has promised. This is a ripoff in every sense of the word!! It's also theft and thieves usually go to prison for their actions.

My opinion? Stay clear of Bad Boy Designs and ESPECIALLY Moe Madrid, to me he isn't worth the risk..
