My Moms 09 Fit overheated on the highway and was towed to Bale Honda.
She was billed 2 hours diag, which (supposedly) included a compression test, leak down test and removing/reinstalling the valve cover.
3 weeks later, after getting the car transported back to NY, I had the opportunity to look under the hood myself. All four coil packs were melted and still stuck in the cylinder head. I broke two of them apart to get them removed. Two of them remain stuck in the head.
Bale Honda, tell me, just how one would perform a compression test OR a leakdown test when the coil packs were stuck in the head? I'd like to know just how you got the spark plugs out with the coil packs melted over them. Also, the intake manifold hadn't been removed, nor the valve cover. Not even the dust on the plastic had been disturbed.
Your techs must have a soft touch! Maybe they're telekenetic! Maybe they're just liars!
Clearly, there were no tests of any kind performed and my mom was milked for $200. Probably because of the NY plates on her Honda. Shops like this, defrauding customers with falsified repair orders, give the industry a bad name.
