Bay Area Sleep Evaluation Center Corpus Christi, TX Overinflated and Unethical Insurance Charges, Is My Diagnosis True? Corpus Christi Texas

This company did not inform me that they were not in my insurance network even though I called them to ask them to check my benefits ahead of time. They informed me that my share would be under $100 for the sleep study, and again never mentioned being out of network.

I was told the test runs around $4,000, but they billed my insurance $7,200. I called to complain when my EoB showed my share would be over $2,000. They assured me that I wouldn't have to pay any more, which I didn't.

They kept calling me to pick up my cpap machine before the end of the year since I had already met my deductible. They made it sound like they were trying to help me, but then I saw they charged my insurance over $11,000 for a $1,000 machine.

Since I had met my deductible, they were able to send the claim in for any amount they wanted. In fact, their business office rep told me "we could've charged a million dollars, if we wanted to". Now I don't even know if I actually have sleep apnea!!!

In my opinion,they are unethical and untrustworthy. Then, as if almost doubling the sleep test cost AND over-charging for the machine weren't enough, they even added a separate $40 charge for a filter for that $11,000 machine!!
