I have been banking with BB&T for awhile now, I have my work checks direct deposited I opened a savings account received my ATM card for that account, I have never used it to make purchases, I just transfer money from my checking to my savings. Last week I transfer $300 to my savings, checked my balance and noticed $178.11 was missing, it was a forced debit on my savings account, for that amount, I went to the local branch asked about the charge, and was told I owed that amount, I never received a bill, and if I owed why wasn't the money ever taking out during the last 5 years my paycheck has been deposited? This is wrong, they are stealing money and using any excuse, I also asked about the $300 I deposited in the ATM on Sunday (cash) $100 was made available, the other is pending she stated oh it takes longer to process, I said it wasn't a check it was cash, beginning not to trust this bank

What are you leaving out...

AUTHOR: Robert - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, February 22, 2016

There seems to be quite a bit missing here as a lot of your actions/claims don't make sense.

You are leaving the impression that you only use this savings account as a deposit and you never take any money out.  If this is not the case then you need to explain how you use this savings.  As they did not withdraw an "even" amount, so it is unlikely that this is debit is anything(totally) to do with fees.  They also just won't all of the sudden take a debit out unless this is a case that you didn't have the funds available and they had to wait until you put in your funds to cover your overdraft balance.

You say, even if we figure you get paid monthly, at $300 over 5 years you should have around $18,000 in your savings if you never use it to make purchases.   Perhaps you don't consistantly put in $300, but still over this time you should have a significant amount of money.  The point being on this is that if they only made $100 available.  Since it is your savings, you never use it to withdraw money, and you have thousands(presumably) in the account.  Having them hold $200 is really a non-issue that doesn't affect you in the least.

You talk about going to the ATM to deposit $300 in cash to "transfer" it to your savings.  But why do you need to do that.  You obviously have Internet, you could go through their on-line banking and just do a transfer from one account to another.  There is no need to withdraw $300 from your checking and then immediatly deposit it into your savings.  If that is in fact what you are doing, that is NOT a transfer.

So what are you leaving out?
