 Ordered and received a "trial offer" of a weight loss product for the cost of shipping. Several weeks later, I saw a charge from "Vitaemar" in the amount of $93.59. I had never heard of the company and couldn't find anything about it on the Web, but I thought it might be from the company that sent a "trial offer". I still had the package, so I called them at the number listed, explaining that I hadn't ordered more product and wanted a refund. I was asked for the order number and the reference number, which I had because I had the packing slip. "Elise" said that it "clearly" stated on the website that the trial was not a giveaway and that if the account was not cancelled within 14 days, I would continue to receive products. We argued about this for a few minutes and then I said I wanted to cancel my account, sice those seem to be the magic words. She said cancelling would not be a problem, and then read from a script, "How much weight do you want to lose?" I told her that wasn't relevant because I was cancelling my account. She tried to continue with the script, but I restated that I wanted to cancel the account; nothing she would say could change my mind. We finally reached an impasse and she again said that cancelling would not be a problem, we said goodbye, and hung up. For several reasons, I purposely did not pursue the refund. I will not be so pleasant if I receive future mailings.
