This company employs outscourced telemarketters in places like India..to call and harrass their customers into changing plans etc. They call all hours of the day ( throughout the day) for weeks/months on end. If you happen to make any changes to your plan , it seems to spur these calls to switch some other aspect of your calling plan.

These people do not like to hear "No" and rarely will they take no for an answer. I personally have said " No changes" only for them to insist that so in so is better and will be cheaper ( rarely is in the long run) and they continue on in trying to verify your information( to change it themselves. I hung up after saying no ....only to be called right back TWICE again by the same lady who was very insistent on getting something out of her time !

Their calls are nothing BUT pure harrassment...to the very ones they serve.

You cannot even block their telemarketeering number . No one to save you from the ones doing the harassing.
I must also mention they frequently hang up on you, even if you DO answer. They have hung up on my child so many times I can't count ,when my daughter asked,"If This is Bellsouth?" They make you soooooo sick of them that you want to quit using their services. I will switch to another phone service provider if these calls do not stop. They are very definitely tarnished as a company in my eyes simply because of the tatics they employ. They should be very , very ashamed. I used to enjoy haveing them as my phone service provider....not anymore.

Frickin' Sad

AUTHOR: Cory - (U.S.A.)

Is it only me who remembers when the justice department forced the old AT&T to break apart into little "baby bells"? And here we are 20,30 years later and SWBell renames itself AT&T and starts buying up other little "baby bells". They figure the government agents and the people have short memories so what the heck, 20, 30 years is a short time in a corporate lifetime. Here we have AT&T offering home phone service, cell phone service, satellite TV service, DSL and internet service, coming back bigger and stronger then ever before. I live in San Antonio, home of AT&T. Last year the AT&T union workers went on strike to protect their jobs and benefits. They are some of the highest paid workers around yet they DO earn their money, not like many of the other unions I've encountered over the years. Driving home last night, I heard a radio commercial trying to hire new "operators" biligual, for the "new AT&T". I wonder how that's gonna fly with the union. With the economy going down the tubes, AT&T posted a 63% increase in business last quarter. I wonder how they pulled that off? They're screwing somebody. Kind of like exxon and their $11.66 BILLON PROFIT last quarter, the largest in history. They're sending the jobs overseas.

I will agree that AT&T is not as user-friendly as was Bell South....

Hey, AT&T gotta pay for their purchase of Bell South, as well as those big bucks the execs get, so have a heart! :))

When we had a telephone line severed somewhere by construction equipment or some other service disruption with Bell South, you were told when service would be restored. And service was always restored BEFORE the optimistic promised time.

Not so now that AT&T provides our landline service. We get no longer get feedback about restoration of service and that restoration takes longer. Fortunately we also have a cell phone.

Allowing AT&T to buy Bell South was a disservive to the customers. Thank you, oh great Republican Administration!

And we also get the automated phone calls, but I let our answering machine pick up on 2 rings. Too bad there isn't a zero-ring option..... I only respont to people who leave a message, and these incessent autodialer calls never leave a message.

Your solution would be to also use an answering machine. Answering machines are, in the long run, less expensive that aspirin and tranquilizers. Look for one with a zero-ring option. Since you have a "business relationship" with AT&T you cannot stop their calls.

A Sign Of The Times

You're mad cause they hang up on you? All you have to do is HANG UP ON THEM. I usually tell them I'm not interested, ask them to put me on their do not call list and HANG UP. The ones that call me at the house, I answer the phone in Spanish and they hang.
