Some franchise owners give franchises a bad, bad name as you will soon find out here.  I am supposed to be staying at the Best Western PLUS Meridian Inn and Suites for six nights but I was basically put in a position to leave halfway through my stay. The company I contract with had already paid in full for the six nights stay but I had to head home 3 days early from my business trip because Hector at Best Western PLUS Meridian Inn and Suites in Orange, CA refused to let me into the room I was staying in on what would have been my fourth night there.

According to Hector, my card declined for an 'incidentals' deposit. Hector wanted $250.00 in cash or (I assume) credit. My cc, actually, had some fraudulent charges and I've not received the new one in the mail yet. However, I explained this when I got to the hotel the first night and the guy behind the desk understood.

When traveling, I spend very little time at the hotels where I stay. I am not a smoker and I do not drink. I work hard to support my family. Last night I travelled 4 hours home starting at ten o'clock at night and turned around to Anaheim this morning to drive back another 4 hours because after 3 nights of staying in a PREPAID room on what was supposed to be a 6 nights hotel stay some jerk named Hector at the Best Western PLUS Meridian Inn and Suites decided that if I didn't pay a $250 deposit on an already PAID IN FULL room (at a motel quality hotel-may I add) then I didn't deserve to stay the night.

This room was booked through Hotels.com where it mentions that a deposit may be charged but it does not specify an amount. I've already printed the information directly from the website for proof. Where the hell did Hector come up with the $250 amount? I hope to have this corrected, though, I have grounds to sue in this situation and if anything is to happen to me while traveling back and forth so late at night and early in the morning for the rest of the time I am working in Orange County I hope to God that my family aggressively pursues a lawsuit against Hotels. com and Best Western Corporate in addition to Hector as well as Best Western Plus Meridian Inn and Suites for MILLIONS. Hector did not use his common sense on this one. I seriously hope Hector gets fired!

So as of right now.  Rania is happily keeping money for services I have been refused.  This is wrong and I'm writing on here because I'm sure that this is happening a lot and they are getting away with it.  I'm ready to fight back and stop bullies like Hector and Rania from taking advantage of people.

It is pretty much SOP around here that when someone doesn't like what is said they get accused of working for the company.  I think I have been accused of working for no less than a couple dozen companies.  So just to put your mind at ease I do not work for this or any hotel/motel for that matter, and yes I am most defiantly a consumer.

We are talking about how your employee, your hotel, your managers broke the law with fraud, deceit, breach of contract. 
-By your own admission the posting on Hotels.com stated that a deposit may be charged.  I would also bet that when you checked in you probably signed something that would authorize a deposit.  There is NO fraud, deceit or breach of contract..well except for you when you couldn't provide the deposit.  Just be glad that they let you stay in the room as long as they did.

Oh and one other little point.  This hotel room was Pre-Paid by your employer so you can be pretty sure that any suit would be thrown out because of your lack of standing.  Because YOU didn't pay for the room.

But of course your still going to think that you were wronged so when you do file suit I hope you post the court and suit information so that everyone can follow it.

Robert:  You are obviously not a consumer.  Why are you deceiving the public?  I don't need to outline my case to you.  We are not talking about your hotel's policies or.  There are laws to follow.  We are talking about how your employee, your hotel, your managers broke the law with fraud, deceit, breach of contract.

You have NO...ZERO..NONE...NADA grounds to sue so stop being such a Drama King/Queen.

Just about every Hotel/Motel requires a deposit for "incidentals".  Some may require less, some may require more, but having $250 held for incidentals is in a standard range.  Whether or not the room is pre-paid does not affect the deposit amount.  So even if the room was not pre-paid the amount held for "incidentals would have been the same.  The manager is NOT just pulling the amount out of thin air, it is a standard amount.

If anything it seems as if they were quite nice to when they went against their policy to allow you to stay 3 days without the deposit.

It's amazing how since you seem to be currently doing this huge commute where you are concerned about safety that you have the time and energy to post a RipOff Report.  By the way if you were really concerned about your safety you would take the money it is costing you to go back and forth and get a cheaper motel.  Of course when you go to another motel they will want a deposit as well.
