This MLM company is as unethical as they come (IMO). OK, maybe not ENRON-unethical, but certainly lie-to-you-and-take-your-money-and-remind-you-how-Christian-they-are-Unethical. The sales presentation was all God-and-Country, appeal to your patriotism, hype. Expect to hear about your sponsors faith and how Ernie Land is a Baptist minister and Lowell Mims was an evangelist. Even Ernie Land's website features God-wants-you-to-be-rich Biblical misquotations.

First of all, the product does not work! The first incarnation of BioPerformance was shut down by the Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott because of their fraudulent claims that their product could increase gas mileage 30 percent. This second incarnation of BioPerformance uses the same product, only now it is a powder, not a pill. The powder is almost 100% naphthalene which, when mixed with gas correctly, could increase fuel octane. However, continued use will clog your fuel system with carbon and cause your fuel injector to fail.

Reference: topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/subjects/g/gas_fuel/index.html?query=BIOPERFORMANCE&field=org&match=exact

The original company denied the product had naphthalene at all. The new company admitted it contained a little naphthalene. It's almost all naphthalene! (They don't want to admit it because naphthalene is a poison.) Here is the scientific truth: peswiki.com/index.php/Directory:BioPerformance_and_Naphthalene

Here's what happened to me. Immediately upon introducing the BioPerformance product (1 tsp to full tank of gas) the engine light came on in my car. The light went off at the tank mark and reappeared as soon as I added BioPerformance to my second full tank of gas (yes, I know I was an idiot for using the second tank. Learn from my mistake!). One fuel filter and fuel system treatment later, my car was back to its original performance.

You will also notice that the sponsors will tell you to add BioPerformance before you take a long trip. The performance increase you see is due to highway v. city miles, not to the product.

Second, the company does not accept credit cards. Now they will lie to you (as they did to me) and say that they are working on that. I can promise you, if you want an e-commence account set up online to accept credit cards, I can have you accepting cards this afternoon. The reason they do not accept credit cards is because they don't want you disputing the charges when you discover their product does not work.

Third, they deceive you about their return policy. It is very difficult to get in touch with them by phone because they do not have a customer service number (Big Red Flag). I was able to reach Sandy Parker about a return. The website said that I could return my product for 90% of the cost. I paid about $500 to get in. OK,I though, Just chalk it up to $50 stupid tax and put the remaining $450 back in my bank account. Imagine my surprise when my return check was about $260 !!! (I forgot the exact amount, but it was around half of what I paid to get in). This was 90% of the product cost, not the total cost.

Quick story: I returned my product unopened. When I received it, the mailing label addressed to me had been affixed over another mailing label, presumably to another poor schmuck who had returned his unopened shipment, too. I imagine they have a few dozen boxes of this

So don't waste your money on the evangelical hucksters at BioPerformance. They will promise you riches but leave you with an $500 hole in your bank account and a blazing check engine light. It is a total scam!

Who you gonna believe me or your lying eyes?

AUTHOR: Bradford - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, May 11, 2010

Like a philandering husband caught in flagrante, Ernie Land wants you to ignore what you SEE and simply listen to what he SAYS. What you SEE is a blazing Check Engine light, a replacement fuel filter and bank account that is $500 lighter. What he SAYS is that his gas powder doesnt contain napthelene, and he just cant seem to get an online credit card servicer (with all of their attendant charge-backs for his phony product). What he DOES is sell potential carcinogens as a fuel additive and run a pyramid scheme that is taking millions of dollars from American citizens.

At least that is what he USED to do. Bioperformance is no more! Check out their former website: mybpibiz.com

Ah, sweet vindication!

So to the mental midgets who scurried to Bioperformances defense like rats clamoring for whatever fetid morsels drop from Ernies greedy lips, all I can ask is how is all that green moth ball stuff working out for you now?! (along with his partners in crime, Lowell and Gus)

Yes I was foolish enough to get swindled by a product that was too good to be true. At least I had the wisdom to get out quick. Mika and Kelly, you sold your dignity to Ernie for the 30 pieces of silver he tossed to you. How much did you lose when Bioperformance went belly-up? Because Ill bet Ernie, Lowell and Gus are still living high on the hog with the millions they swindled.

And one more thing! After Ernie claimed that his product did not contain naphelene, here is the actual disclaimer from their website before the company went bust: "This product contains naphthalene as an active ingredient. Short term exposure, inhalation, ingestion or dermal contact with naphthalene is associated with hemolytic anemia, damage to the liver, and neurological damage. Please store in a ventilated area at all times." (Statement the Texas AG requires BP to post.)

Ernie was right about one thing: he is not a Baptist Preacher. The preacher was his partner Lowell Mims. I doubt that Jesus actually knows either one of them and Jesus certainly wouldnt put Bioperfomance in his new car.

#3 Consumer Comment

My Experience With BPI

AUTHOR: Kelly - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, August 06, 2008

Todd's comments are rather sardonic at best. Your car probably could have used some maintenance before you used the product. I've been told that if I use the product, prepare to have the fuel filter changed after 4-6 uses of the BPI product. I fully intend to do that. The product cleans the engine, the gas tank and removes impurities in the gasoline. It reduces emissions. Check the USEPA report. And it is a poison - but then so is gasoline. And they clearly state that it does contain napthelene. They make no bones about telling people to not breathe it, ingest it or have prolonged contact with skin. Same with gasoline--tt's not for bodies, it's for cars. From the sound of your post you're the kind of guy who isn't very conscientious about your car at least it appears that way to me because you're not conscientious about your fact finding and reporting.

I have a customer I sold the product to last week. He put it into his mother's Lexis which was performing quite badly and was due to have a check-up. He didn't even use the product as instructed, but instead filled up the tank and then put the product in the tank. He was shocked, surprised and elated when he got in the car in the morning to drive it to the dealer and the car no longer had the problem he was supposed to have fixed. My husband's Crossfire was purchased used and it was performing OK - getting 20 mpg. He won't tell people that he is getting 42 mpg because he's afraid they won't believe him. Instead he tells them he's getting 30 mpg because he thinks a 50% increase in mileage is more believable. And he was shocked with the first usage of BPI because the increased performance was astounding. I myself have been using the product for 7 weeks now and my car is performing better than it has since I bought it new 3 years ago I'm not going to tell you how many miles to the gallon I get because you won't believe me either. It's absolutely shocking and I'm only filling the tank twice a month now. Hmmm. Bet you're dying to know how many mph I'm getting. Just suffice to say that it's better mileage than a hybrid.

As for the company - I haven't had any problems since I've been a distributor. If I had a problem - I would first read the Policies and Procedures (which really should be read before you decide to become a distributor to see if you can live with their rules). In the Policies and Procedures everything is spelled out - in case you have a problem you can refer to them to see how to handle your problem - that should be done before calling the company and harassing a customer service person who has no control over the company's rules. This company is a business - it doesn't succumb to strong-arming from people who want them to operate according to their dictates. I'm sure if you consult the Policies and Procedures you would have seen how to go about handling your dispute. The place that finances my car inadvertently took 2 car payments out in one month. They needed my bank account statement to see that they had indeed taken out the payment twice. They put one payment back and paid the overdraft charges they had caused. But it took them 3 weeks to handle it. I was mad but you know, I got over it. Computers and their operators make mistakes. What can I say. Hang onto it and let it negatively pre-pave your future or let go of it and chalk it up to human error. Life is short and too precious to walk around holding a grudge - it affects your body, mind and spirit.

Furthermore, I've been in the company 7 weeks. I have signed up 4 Area Managers - each one has tried the product first and loves it. If they hadn't seen results, doesn't it make sense that they would not have put up $552.38 to start a business? People start businesses with this company because they have a product that works, has been tested by the U.S. EPA - the results of the 9 month test on 50 vehicles is on any website. Go there and read it. Likewise, this company has a Warranty guaranteeing this product will not harm your engine - however, if you think it has, get a certified mechanic's report and they will repair the damage. Did Todd file a mechanic's report asking for compensation? Probably not why? Because it didn't really hurt his car he just needed some maintenance. You're claiming harm but getting fuel injectors blown out and changing a fuel filter is standard maintenance because they're dirty. That's not harm. You got alarmed because your check engine light came on - but that's not really harm is it?

Todd's comments and slurs are not credible. There will always be people who don't follow the rules and will throw negativity toward anything that other people are succeeding at because they did not do what was required to succeed. Todd's information and fact reporting are inaccurate - you're going on supposition and incorrect information. I'm sorry for you that you had such a negative experience, because this company is wonderful, cooperative, generous and oh, that's right - I just got off the phone from my 3rd (count them - one, two, three) calls with customer service. The phone was answered immediately - the customer service agent was courteous, helpful and happy. This is most unusual trust me. I have complete confidence that this company is willing to work out any differences as long as they fall within the confines of their business policies. Take complaints with a grain of salt and read behind the lines. Did they get shut down, yes. Did they have a lawsuit? Yes. But don't take somebody's word for the Complaint or the outcome of the lawsuit until you know the facts. I have only good things to say about this business opportunity, company, the people and product and would encourage anyone looking for an opportunity to do your due diligence first, read the policies and procedures and then plunge in and prepare to sell a lot of product that works, helps the environment and will indeed, make you a lot of money. All waiting gets you is older!
Kelly

Who's Todd and why so badly informed?

AUTHOR: Ernest - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, June 12, 2008

We would need to know more about who Todd was to repsond accurately. However Tood is very poorly informed and we question if he really was a rep or just a rep poorly trained and uninformed.

First I, Ernest land am not, have not, and never claimed to be a Baptist Preacher. I am just a layman in a Baptist Church. I wish to be informed of any Biblical misqoutations on my site. Again Todd is misinformed.

Second, the product has many proven tests on it. It is not napththalene and that was proven. The test are done according to the protocol of the HFET test in a EPA recognized lab and this is what our U.S. congress has regulated into law as the only test to prove mileage claims by a fuel additive. They will not allow testimonies like Todd's simply due to the fact that many people would lie about their results and the regulator's want only verified science, like what BPI has.

Third, if Todd got a refund and he says he did, $200 of his refund would come from the person who sold him the product. That is what is known as retail commission and in my industry the regulators require retail sales, so BPI requires retail sales in order that we remain within the legal guidelines of all 50 states. BPI is not a money game, but a real company with a real product. Also Todd says he spoke with our CS rep Sandy, but yet in another place he says we have no phones or customer service. Todd is very ill informed.
