During Last 24 hr. been through stress with Blue Beacon. Went to another Blue Beacon to show damage to truck tanks for verification and ended up being assaulted. Was given the finger for not going to the right bay, before I ever spoke to anyone or got out of truck. Before employee even knew I was a female. Employee acted like he was on drugs. Jabbing his finger into the air because he felt I was not doing what he directed, and had tooted horn waving him to come over to truck.

Second round of abuse by Blue Beacon Truck wash employee begins. He was proud of his attitude and actions.

Was then called abusive names like fat fu**ing bitch, on two separate occasions. Later went to take PICS of damage to tanks and employee came out and started abuse again, threatening me, waving middle fingers around. When camera was warmed up, I took picture of employee instead. He was proud of it and came at me wanting me to take more pictures. Then grabbing my wrist, twisting and crushing my hand in process of obtaining my camera. Have PICS will show you one if you respond. I called police twice, once because I was trapped and could not back out, due to construction. Once because of the assault.

Employee attempted to erase pictures, but, could one erase the one on top. He ran off with my $400. camera violating it and trying to destroy evidence. Other employee/manager, backed his actions, also, calling me names, telling me earlier, when I was behind shop trapped, to go ahead and use my fat fu**ing fingers to call 911. Along with many other abusive words geared towards my weight and gender.

As a result of being your customer, I feel violated, abused, my wrist/ hand is hurting every time I try to shift truck, the cut job done on the tanks is completely ruined, As a single mother, I can not afford this, as a truck owner I feel the need to warn other owners, as a female, I feel totally enraged and am looking into the possible filing of civil charges, as the officers told me to do.

As a customer, I am preparing a flyer, with photos and my complete story of my experience. It has been suggested that I pass my story on to every truck wash for there bulletin boards and to any magazine/paper, so it might help others avoid the same experience with your employees and their workmanship. If my hand should continue in this pain and not be aided by some aspirin, then I shall go to the doctor. At that point, or maybe, I should anyway, I will be forced to seek a legal representative to protect my intrust against people that do myself and my small business harm. I have copied and will forward this message on to them at that time. Along with the rest of the details.

Updated Letter To Blue Beacon:

Will update with more PICS and fact details as time permits. Currently late on load due to being detained behind Blue Beacon Blooding, employees abusive actions, speaking to police, and dealing with aftermath.

Original complaint was based on truck wash services provided by Blue Beacon of Des Moines, Iowa. Receipt ticket # 008239047. Provided for customer owning 1 truck leased to name on ticket. Wash was incomplete, acid was used on recent cut job. I was to upset upon seeing condition of truck, when dried, to go back to facility. Was advised to go to next facility, for incident report, verification, and PICS.

Upon arriving at Kansas City Blue Beacon, no employee was available and facility was locked up. Went around building, knocked on window and door. no response. Got back in truck. Tooted horn 3 separate occasions, with 1-2 minutes apart. On third attempt employee appeared, obviously upset by intrusion. He motioned for me to move truck to other bay.

With the construction and small boulders behind me it was my hope to pull forward, and through. As I had no desire to blind side back, or wash truck in the rain. Before I said one word, before I was out of the truck, before he knew if I was male or female, the customer abuse began.

After trying to wave employee over to explain, he (bill I was later told), began thrusting both arms into the air with jagged motions and middle finger outstretched. Shouting "FU** YOU we don't want to wash your truck anyway."

As I got out of truck and walked over he closed bay door, while using obscenities.

Another employee (Scott) walked towards locked door. After trying to relay why I was there, and shouting through plastic window, I stated that I could not even get out and would have to call 911 just to leave. Employee stated for me to "go ahead and use my fat f***ing fingers and try to dial 911" Quote UN Quote.

I could not respond and returned to my truck.

Shortly after dialing 911. The less angrier of the two came outside to the truck. Told me they just wanted me to use the other bay. The truck was maneuvered over, put intro the bay, turned off, and I got out my camera. After briefly explaining to Scott the circumstances that brought me there, I went to turn on the camera, to take pick of damage to tanks.

Before camera could warm up, "Bill" came round the front corner of truck hood. Using foul language about my being a Fuc*ing fat bitch and such. Scott told him to get back into the office. I asked him to please shut up. Orally abusing my weight and gender was not necessary. This brought the finger, and more obscenities, back out. I was fixing to take a picture of the tanks, and swung around taking a PIC of him instead. Thus provoked, he advanced towards me repeating "take a picture of this fat bitch" and such.

It went crazy from there. Without requesting the camera first, he just kept coming until he was virtually on top of me twisting and attempting to wrestle the camera out of my grasp by force. Bending and crushing my hand, then running out into the rain with my new digital camera. I chased after him outside before he went into the office placing his leg and foot against the door, preventing access while he yelled at me and kept pushing buttons on the camera.

The employees (brothers I found out) jested and had fun with keeping the camera and seemed to enjoy my obvious humiliation. With over 163 photos, on the camera card, some private, in combination with the weight and gender comments I felt so low I just wanted to curl up and sink into myself. It was nauseating.

I had finally come to the point in my life where I had accepted myself, and was ready to enjoy life, skinny or fat. Or so I had thought before this horrific night. With no exaggeration, being assaulted by a stranger orally was bad enough. Now I felt violated and emotionally raped.

When the police finally arrived, they informed me that, unfortunately, these creeps could get away with it, due to a current law, allowing a business, or homeowner, to remove someone by force, if they had been asked to leave.

The boys lies, they had not asked me to move out front till after the camera episode. At that point, how could I, before police came? They also lied about my bearing down on the horn. Yes, I tooted to bring someone round. To get anyone's attention that may be there. Is that not normal for Truck Washes? But, I never fully released the horn to it's full air, and did not hold it down. Never inside either.

As women and truckers, what has our society come to? This event gives new meaning to the words "BE CAREFUL OUT THERE." I use to think it pertained just to 4 wheelers. But, the very businesses we give our hard earned money to?

I gave the hand 24 hours to heal up. Aspirin, has been fading to fast. The pain is there overtime I now shift or grab the CB microphone. Even sitting still, there is a bit of throbbing.

It became necessary to obtain some relief. The emergency room took x-rays, found no fracture at this time (I did not think there was one) however said my hand ligaments have been damaged. If I allowed him to place a sprint on me, I would be forced to take 3-7 days mandatory from work. I opted to try bandages for now.

Unfortunately, they say, I still cannot drive on the Vicodin pills. So I'm back to pain while driving. Why should I have to make this choice?

The employees did not lie about one conversation... When I asked for the managers name, they stated "why"? This happens all the time, they said. They told me they had been working at Blue Beacon for years, and that Scott was the man in charge. Scott stated that nothing would happen to them, that I was in the wrong for taking pictures. Well, they were fine before his brother got busted!

The manager, Paul? That I spoke with, said he had taken care of the discipline, unless he hears anything from corporate. He said the boys have always been sarcastic. He belittled my story, played it down, covered for them, denied being able to see any of the important things like "Bill" in the back doorway or the camera part. He seemed to believe it was nothing major. He posed as the top manager there. Telling me of how corporate sends HIM faxes of calls in how they give it to HIS hands to deal with. But, I found out along the way he has a boss there too. That really makes the calls.

So, Paul, if "Bill" (his name was a lie), is so innocent why was he outside running around with my camera in the rain? Why the fake name? Well, a picture tells the truth and a thousand words-at least that is what the cop said yesterday morning.

Second round of abuse by Blue Beacon Employee begins. Abuse to customer consisted of foul language, foul gestures, attack and assault, verbal abuse of customers body weight and gender (female). Employee was boasting and proud of attitude and actions. Manager- (his brother) also engaged in the name calling and verbal abuse siding with his brother against customers complaints of the employee. Please see attached for further information.

Please forward to the appropriate authorities/managment there at Blue Beacon. Don't let this happen to you! No matter what the customer does, even if they blow there horn outside the bay, in an attempt to find the employees, there is no excuse for this type of behavior.

Proof of hospital visit, due to Blue Beacon Employees physically abusive actions

Injured wrist/hand, bruised by employee actions

Wash job- by "streakin Beacon" you can see streaks where lazy employee did not pressure wash or brush tank. The bad wash job, only hours before, could not even be covered up with the light drizzle, and moisture coming off the wet road.

More of the same. Have over 25 pictures from within 5 hours of wash job. Called to complain within minutes of leaving wash bay, when truck was dry, and I got out to go into work place. Could not see it all as well, when it was wet. Did not have time or desire to go back

Another example. Other side, you could see where they sprayed with power wash and where they did not. They never did re-wash it. Ever.

Shine Same tank had on it- Blue Beacon allowed acid to be put on it, even though told not to

knows all about BB employees

AUTHOR: tazzbaby - (United States of America)

the bb in ruther glen is nothing more than a playground for the drug ingesting, thug like creatures of the night...I have worked with the trucking industry for the past 2.5 years and know both sides of the story ( my husband is a driver) I know what it is like to be verbally bashed by a truck driver for my sex and weight but I aslo know what it is like to try to be nice to an angry tired driver that just will NOT be placated..I know that we saw lots of bb's crappy wash jobs and dealt with the day shift morw than the night shift...there are even employees of bb that sell bootlegged dvds to make more money...I am sitting on the fence..Part of me understands the "putting up with crap" for little pay, but I always tried to offer excellent service no matter how badly the drivers ticked me off...

We are all human beings, we all want acceptance and to be treated the way we would like to treat others...just cant stand the employees that pull guns and sell drugs from the jobs,,,

Steve is right, and Chase is...well...

AUTHOR: Thomas - (U.S.A.)

I agree 100% with Steve on the diversity issue. It is destructive, both in the workplace and in society at large. That may be an uncomfortable truth for some, but the fact remains.
It seems Chase has her own personal issues both with being female as it relates to her career choice, and being overweight. These seem to be the root of her pain and difficulty, not the incident in question.

Looking at this objectively, two sides to the story have been offered, and I suspect the truth lies somewhere in between. But it's hard for me to believe that Chase is being completely forthright here. Brad has admitted using profanity, making obscene gestures and taking the camera from her. In hindsight, I hope he realizes he could have handled the situation better. I believe Blue Beacon was right to terminate him. But we have to ask: Why did he respond this way to begin with? Because she was a female trucker or overweight? Not likely. I suspect it's because Chase, who was admittedly very angry when she arrived, was being rude, belligerent, profane herself, and/or unreasonable. Maybe even threatening. And at that point, she is a trespasser, not a customer, and should expect to be treated accordingly. When a customer become unreasonable and interferes with your ability to do business(i.e. blocking wash bays with their truck), the manager has not only the right but the obligation to deal with it swiftly.

I just don't believe Chase was physically injured by any Blue Beacon employees. The actions she has described "twisting and crushing my hand..." are not evidenced by the photos, and are an exaggeration at best. By any measure, this would have been a crime. The police responded to the scene and determined it was a civil matter, that no crime had been committed. What she is claiming here just isn't credible.

Moreover, I become very skeptical when a grown woman calls herself "violated" and "emotionally raped" because she was called a few nasty names by two young men at the truck wash. What exactly does "emotionally raped" mean anyway?

Blue Beacon apologized, terminated the offending employee, is willing to give her a rewash, and offered $200.00 for the alleged damage to her truck. What more should they do?

Chase, please, do yourself a favor. Take the $200.00 and move on with your life. Find yourself a good therapist to help you overcome your issues. You've chosen to work in a male-dominated occupation. You have that right, I suppose. But you're going to be treated differently sometimes, that's just the way it is. It is not the responsibility of the rest of the world to accomodate YOU. But in this case, your being a woman had nothing to do with it. It probably had everything to do with your behavior that night, which I suspect was more provocative than you are telling us.

Soundtrack to the drama?

AUTHOR: Nukednative - (U.S.A.)

I am just wondering if there was a soundtrack for all of this drama. I understand the whole "ripoffreport" idea, however when it comes down to "he said" "no I didn't" crap, can't we keep that to personal email or let our lawyers hash it out? Who cares if you're fat and he's ugly? In the end you both look stupid bringing an argument public. This isn't the peoples court. Call Dr Phil for a hug and Jerry to put it on TV if all you want is attention.

Not Suprising

AUTHOR: Sidney - (U.S.A.)

I work at a Petro Truck Stop with a Blue Beacon, I wish I could say that I find the "horrors" reported unusual; sad to say I cannot, There is no nice way to sday it so I will say it; The BB (Ruther Glen) seems to mainly hire and employ Black Ghetto Thugs (Many on parole for VIOLENT Crimes).

The kind of characters you would find on a street corner "in the hood" selling drugs or participating in violent crime. There is open drug dealing and use at the Ruther Glen location, both by the BB employees and the "Chrome Polishing Crews" found around BB Truck washes. Additionally the BB employees regularly steal food and beverages from the Fuel Island here.

This week one of the employees pulled a gun on the night manager, who promptly went to his vehicle and "pulled his own gun". That night two male employees of the BB were nearly killed in "Revenge style" hit and run at the Petro (Search richmond nbc news)

Seems to me the company needs to reexamine its hiring practices, pay a living wage, and hire a better class of people (Stop hiring ghetto ass thugs and white trash crackheads), maybe some new location/general management.

An industry in trouble

AUTHOR: The Reporter - (Canada)

The trucking industry is going through some tough times these days with the cost of living always on the rise and salaries always at the same level.

Blue Beacon is experiencing what the majority of manual labor industry is experiencing especially in our trucking world.

Organisations like Blue Beacon are forced to hire at the entry level just about anyone off the street to keep operations going and unfortunatly more and more situations arise involving employees commiting acts of vandalism to company property, Internal theft, assaults on operation supervisors, Bullying, heated and vulgar exchanges with customers which all mostly go unreported.

Blue Beacon is a large corporation operating in Canada and United States of America with many employees all coming from different walks of life, some uneducated with drug and alcohol habits, Mental issues, some with extensive criminal backgrounds.

It is advised in todays world to settle all customer service issues with the coporate head office and not attempt to gain satisfaction with a lower level employe because of the underlying hidden issues of that employee!

We experienced a similar situation with a Blue Beacon employe who was smoking marijuana on the job while washing our equipement,
We did not comment or criticise this employe even though our equipement looked like it had never been touched.
We paid for the wash and reported the incident to Corporate Head office who responded by a letter of apoligy and an immediate refund of our money.

It is always advisable to proceed in this manner thus preventing any type of incident with company employes.

Legal recoarse against any Corporation is extremely difficult in a customer Vs. Employe suite because of the hear say law! ( He said that I said ) ( He did but I did'nt )

Solve the problem by defusing the situation!!

no male or female driver deserves to get treated like this

AUTHOR: 18wheelerstrkwshemployee_turtle - (U.S.A.)

I am in the truck washing business (as you can tell by my s/n) and i would never imagine treating any of my customers the way these guys treat theirs. Truck drivers tend to be cranky sometimes, you would too if you was driving all day. Drivers like to keep their trucks nice because its their office, sometimes its even home. I am understanding when a driver says he/she does not want brightening chemicals on their truck. I just respond "not a problem, we only put on what you want". this is not a problem for us because we use seperate hoses for all our chemicals, unlike i've heard of blue beacon, which uses 1 hose or 2 for all their chemicals. Ma'am, I'd like to appologize to you for the way you have been treated by a truck wash employee, for it makes us all look bad, even other companies. As i'm sure you probably won't be vititing another blue beacon anytime soon, your truck will still need washed, if you ever travel 55-70 in illinois i'd like to show you how a driver should be treated. i'm at the truckwash there at exit 18 in troy, IL. i am the asst. supervisor on the 4pm-12am shift. just ask for turtle.

Steve Wow So Off Base

AUTHOR: Paul - (U.S.A.)

Steve

Shame on you

I happen to know this lady. She is very kind and would give you the shirt off her back and money to go buy ten more. She was not only raised by a Father who owned a trucking company. But, is an owner operator herself (and also owns several other units) for the last 8 years of her 11 years of driving experience.

Common sense you say?????
Common sense dictates that you should read the article before being so critical of another. Then you would know:

1. There were no other customers on the property.
2. She waited a long time and tried to go to several different locked doors before blowing the horn.
3. She never asked for "special consideration in a busy environment". There was no busy environment and if you think asking for a job done right, as offered by Blue Beacon to a paying customer is "special consideration" then no wonder you say in your statement 1. you have never had a single problem.
4. If you would have called her company- you would have gotten her.
5. You say it's crude to honk- was it crude for them to make her wait while they did their drugs?

Mister, I feel sorry for you. You obviously have issues and your issues obviously have more issues. Sounds like you feel threatened by change and maybe even women. Really almost Hitler like. In your post, your literally attacking everyone that is not Male and White. Either way, You've just shown the world what a , egotistical, chauvinistic, judgmental person you are. You would fit right in with the guy that abused her (that you are defending). It's the destructive attitudes of people like you who bring this world to it's knees. Common Sense

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

I'm an O/O with 14 years 2.5 million miles and I've pulled just about everything going everywhere.

I started back in 1993 and at that time, it was about 99.9% white men and same with everyone associated with trucking; shippers, receivers, shops or whatever.

In the meantime, the demographics have changed dramatically.

1st Statement: I have never had a single problem at Blue Beacon. Actually, I've always had great work done.

2nd Statement: The huge problem are the ones coming in to the occupation with this attitude they are the latest and greatest and the industry has to change to accomodate them.
3rd Statement: The obvious problem is her. She was snotty and demanding special consideration while in a busy environment.

When I hit a Blue, if I can't tell which bay is active or next, I hold back with room to maneuver. The guy always comes out and points to the next bay. I follow their directions to a T. And I never argue or debate, well, actually, have never had a situation where that was necessary. I never ever honk. That's incredibly crude. If I had been present, I'd pay the guys working there $20 to run her thru the bay and get her outta there, then call her company and let them know probably what they already know.

Diversity is not productive, it's destructive.
The only reason we have to follow it is because of Affirmative Action which gives minorities the right to terrorize american business into submission and create drivers like this lady.

Blue Beacon Truck Wash

AUTHOR: Trevor - (U.S.A.)

I too had a BB put acid on my paint job. After I complained they sprayed a nuetralizer on it. The manager wasn't happy but he made it good by giving me a free coupon for another wash. I have had ok washes by the BB and some really bad ones as well as good ones. How you approach them when a mistake has been made can really decide the outcome of the problem. I would take the advice of an attorney and then move on with your life. Trucking has alot more problems than just this and you will need your energy to face them everyday. Good Luck

Irresponsible Business Practices

AUTHOR: Phillip - (U.S.A.)

Beacon truck wash is like many others who hire their people at minimum wage and expect slaves to act as professionals. It is disheartening to read about the rude and offensive comments made by the employees who do not care about inflicting harm to the feelings of others.

Someone suggested getting a lawyer, but you can also make your case in small claims for the personal injuries sustained on their property by employees of Beacon in addition to the damages to your vehicle while it was in Beacon's wash bay. You can also add the facts of Beacon not performing the paid service to an acceptable standard; this may also strengthen your claim.

I am a truck technician who recently returned to a Community College to obtain training related to the advancements in technology. In addition, I have completed a two-year degree and am currently pursuing additional training into Business Administration before I return to work as a mechanic. Business classes teach people to respect everyone regardless of race, color, religion, gender, or any other form of discrimination; DIVERSITY is what I am talking about, and everyone needs to learn more about being respectful toward the rights of others.

A female working in a man's world is hard enough without sustaining such abuse, I can relate to your issues since I have been in the industry for several years. My suggestion is to pursue actions in small claims court; it will only cost around $75 to file. Make immaculate notes to include as much information regarding the misconduct of employees, this includes theft of your camera and damage to the data contained on it's memory. It is also relevant to pursue actions for Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress but you will need an attorney for this action.

Personally, I would look for a more reputable truck wash service and distribute copies of your original Rip-Off Report to other drivers at nearby truck stops, DO NOT hand these reports to customers at the Beacon Truck Wash. Ed also makes a similar recommendation in his Rip-Off Guide that is also sold on this site.

Good luck in your future endeavors, and I am sorry for your bad experience!

good going Matt

AUTHOR: Shavon - (U.S.A.)

Matt you basically said it all in the nicest way and I totally agree. All the people on here that use down grades as an option are the ones who are stupid and are making themselves into idiots no matter what profession their in. People should always try to speak with respect to each other and maybe then they would get a little more done than having the door slammed in there face. Customers are not always right even though you have to pretend that they are. However if your going to fight over your truck being washed instead of handling it like a sensible person or argue because you don't feel like washing at that moment then maybe you should change profession or learn to deal with life.

A few thoughts from a BB employee...

AUTHOR: Matt - (U.S.A.)

I work for Blue Beacon of Rochelle, and I just thought I'd comment on a few things. I'll refrain from commenting about the veracity of either the employee's stories or the customer's story, as I wasn't there and I don't have all the facts. I also won't comment on the company's actions regarding reinbursement, etc. for the same reasons.

Regarding the "acid burns" on her tanks, from the picture available it appears to be a combination of road film that didn't get washed off close enough or brushed properly, and of soap that wasn't rinsed off all the way and dried on the tank. It's a simple 5-minute fix, all they had to do was re-soap everything with film on it, re-brush everything, and rinse it all off thoroughly. Apparently this was somehow beyond Brad's ability. The manner in which he dealt with the situation was unbecoming a supervisor, and I'm glad to see that he was fired.

Regarding the idea that the customer is always right, that's not always the case. For example, is the customer right if they want us to degrease the top of their fifth wheel, when EPA wastewater regulations prohibit us from doing so? Are they right if they want us to climb on top of their truck to clean something too high for us to reach from the floor, when the company's (and perhaps OSHA's as well, I'm not exactly sure) safety regulations prohibit our feet from leaving the bay floor, except to climb into a washout? I'll do my best to make sure my customers are satisfied, but I will not risk the safety of myself or the environment to do so.

Regarding Bill of Dayton, OH's comments: You are mistaken, TMC didn't drop their account with Blue Beacon. I see at least one TMC truck even on the slowest days, and it's usually closer to five or ten a day, just on my shift. All of them have PO numbers, and all of them charge to the Annett Holdings, Inc. account, TMC's parent company. Also, the only times I've ever seen paint peel from a truck is if it was already chipped and it was washed too close with the high pressure spray. "Airballing" it and carefully brushing the chipped area will prevent this.

Finally, I will say that I'm a proud employee of Blue Beacon. I take pride in the quality of my work, and I take pride in the fact that, in the event that a customer is unsatisfied, I will do everything in my power to fix the problem and make sure they leave happy.

Some of the drivers reading this may laugh, but I ask this in response: Do you not take pride in your job, even though others may deride your profession? Even though you've belittled my choice of profession, I still have respect for yours, because I know you provide an essential service, and that without you, life as we know it would come to a standstill. Granted, the truck wash industry isn't as essential to the trucking industry as the trucking industry is to the American way of life, but I don't think I deserve to be called uneducated, stupid, or poor just because of my choice of profession.

Self Employed

AUTHOR: Kyle - (U.S.A.)

I'm not a truck driver nor have I ever been to a truck wash but I am amazed at some of the comments made by the employees or others attempting to justify those employees in what was obviously a gross verbal and physical intimidation of a customer by not one but two employees of Blue Beacon!

I wasn't there but don't have a hard time believing most everything that the customer said after seeing the one pic she managed to get. Seems like one of the employess mentioned they had security cameras on the property. If it all took place right around the bay the owners probally had 2 or 3 angles of view and saw more than they wanted to.

In fact, I would bet that something has happened to that tape such as a malfunction, accidently got erased or was misplaced otherwise that would easily resolve the issue.

Who knows, worst case maybe she was a b*** or maybe a customer prior to that was an a-hole. Regardless, that gives them no right to do what they obviously did to her and I'd like to see the training manual where it addresses that!

Everybody remembers there was always a bully or two around when you grew up. I used to think they finally matured and realized you can only get so far in life acting like that as a adult. But what alot of them learned is that they had to get slicker about when and where they could attempt pull off their bullshit, which is usually when few others are watching!

Although things of this nature still go on more than most think, if that tape ever showed up, and I feel certian that it won't, if you get caught doing what they probally did then she might find herself owning a truck washing franchise! Maybe then she could show the employees how to properly wash a truck and that the customer is always right! Even when they aren't.

Is this the best there is?

AUTHOR: Rob - (U.S.A.)

Reading the comments of Isaac and other Blue Beacon employees, I'm stunned with their hostility and indifference towards PAYING customers. I guess when you get big and fat and comfortable (like the republicans in Congress), you lose sight of what your true obligations are, and ultimately, you get beat. It has happened to the Republicans, and it will only be a matter of time before it happens to blue Beacon. Not all truck drivers are jerks, and not all truck washers are jerks. But, I've been to my share of Blue Beacon Truck washes and most of the employees make Terrell Owens look like the Man of the Year.

So, getting back to my question. Is this the best there is? I've heard of a new truck wash in Dallas called FleetPro, and some others. Does anybody have some comments or suggestions?

You chose to go to a doctor, so pay the bill.

AUTHOR: Marc - (U.S.A.)

Anyone can wrap their hand in a bandage and say it's a really bad injury, insurance scammers do it every day. You got you wrist twisted, and sure it hurts to shift, but you chose to make a huge doctor's bill out of it instead of simply taking some aspirin and going your own way. For $1,300 you could have bought a lot of truck washes. I sympathized with you until you started the, "I'm a single mother" crap to gain sympathy. You confronted a group of young men, pissed them off, and they re-acted in a predictable way you should have foreseen. This is no lawsuit and you should have taken the $200.

employee's thoughts

AUTHOR: Isaac - (U.S.A.)

i work for blue beacon, will not like to say which one but i would like to say to the guy that called us "GREASE MONKEY'S" you don't even know how many times i have had driver's walk into the office and when they walked out have to spray air fressener because they stink so bad. i do agree that the employee was wrong right now i am the Sr. Supervisor on the 12-8 shift at my location and some nights we are just tired and don't want to wash any trucks. I very few occasions i have to to tell drivers that we arent' a detailed wash we wash truck fast and clean at a competive price. Like someone said, somebody has to do it. I will not go as far as saying wash it yourself but we are not going to give a perfect wash but than again you get what you pay for i talked to a driver and he told me it was $67 just to get his tractor hand washed which would take about 30-45 minutes, we wash a tractor and box trailer for $61 in 10-15 minutes.

Blue beacon knows that drivers are not making money sitting in line waiting to get their truck washed. For someone to call blue beacon employees all kind of names if ridiculous i mean seriously truck drivers sit on their asses all day and drive a truck. How much knowledge does that take, Where are you going in life? that what i thought but maybe you didn't have a choice and that is all you could do at the time. For all driver's that go to blue beacon it is not a bad truck wash if you do what all supervisors are supposed to tell you to do. When you pull out of the bay stop on the front drive for a couple of minutes and let the water drip off the truck that solves alot more than you think once it is dry you can bring any concerns to our attn. right then and there. i have seen so many drivers try to get something for nothing and treat us like we are idiots when really they know nothing about what we are doing and we are laughing inside when we hear the stupid stuff that they tell us.

Nobody can care less about what we missed last time that isn't going to fix anything, you think we purposly miss stuff NO! Don't walk around your truck while we are washing it you are just getting in the way if you point shit out it is probably because we haven't washed it yet. I have been with the company for 2 years now and i have never seen the kind of behavior that those employees have shown. But i will say this, every once in a while we will have to let a driver know that we are not a hand, detailed wash and if they are not satisfied with what we give then then maybe Blue Beacon isn't for them. We don't want to have to tell them that but if we don't then they expect a detailed wash everytime they go to Blue Beacon and that is now what we are about.

As for the streaks on the tank if you cared about your truck you would have got out when you pulled out and saw it then took care of it right then. It solves so much confusion if you look at your truck while at the truck wash and have us take care of it then. The comment card system in my opinion is stupid on everybody's part. For us it just pisses us off and is pointless. For a driver they get what? a $10 gift certificate and a dirty truck. On every reciept is the home office number and the truck wash number that you used. Call the truck wash they can get everything set up to where you can have a clean truck. That is what you want right? Isn't that why you came to blue beacon?

As for the whole incident who cares what everybody else says they have nothing to do with it. Settle for what it cost you. Pain and suffering is the biggest piece of bullshit ever that should count for anything. Blue beacon is the largest truck wash and always will be because of speed and pricing employees can make good money if they try it's just most of them are happy making $8-$9/hr.

Hello I am so sorry about what happened to you however all the comments are so hostile. I totally agree with Sally there are two side to every story. My husband works for Blue Beacon and I believe them to be a very good truck wash. I am kind of biased however I know that the Blue beacon my husband works for strives to do there best and like all things in life there are mistakes made. However my husband strives to be professional and fix any mistakes his employees make. The men who work there have never been anything but respectful and they also deal with truck drivers who are very rude however they swallow their pride and realize that they must do their best.

Now just because every once in awhile there are truck drivers who are rude doesn't mean that every truck driver is rude. I go there with my small children sometimes and there are times that the truck drivers actually enjoy talking to my children. I don't pull them away and say " no don't talk to them because just last week a mean truck driver called daddy a wetback". Yes my husband is also Latino.

Never blame one place for the bad and unacceptable way another person act towards you. There are over 100 blue beacons I know for a fact they strive to make their customers happy. They are a very based family Co.

One rotten person should not make all those employees with families look bad.
However I still wish you the best.

The Truth

AUTHOR: Chase - (U.S.A.)

To the last writers last words. Blue Beacon Wrote me there was no video cameras in the bay area- they only had my photos- Proof enough for me.

Also, They never paid one medical Bill - Now as a single mom, I am no longer on the road (one reason, amongst others is because my wrist- the one he damaged, hurt to much to constantly shift...). The emergency room, the doctor, the x-ray services and more billed seperately, and are all negatives on my credit. Over $1,300. Calling wanting money. Reminding me constantly of how Nice and Good your Blue Beacon tries to do right by it's customers.

Lawyer fees on retainer was more than the bills. They new they had me good. I was not wanting the world- just for them to be fair. They are a big company- if they found reason enough to fire the employee- don't you think that would lend it's self to substantiate the bases of my claims? Look at his photo. Employees attitude, think of those hands (he is giving me the finger with in the photo), gripping and twisting my wrist, making it and my hand black and blue in pain.
How convenient they did not have video working inside the bay. Or so they told me.

Let's see- how would you have reacted? Would you have kept calling till you could get someone? Do you really think they have been fair?

#29 UPDATE Employee

who do you blame?

AUTHOR: Sally - (U.S.A.)

My husband has been an employee of Blue Beacon Truck wash for twelve years, and I was employed there for five. He has worked at six of Blue Beacon's 105 locations. I do not know any of the people involved at the Kansas City location, but I do know a bit about the company. There are several things about this strand of thoughts that I would like to address.

First of all, I have seen things, at the Truck Wash, that I think most people would find hard to believe. I will certainly admit that there have been times when I have felt frightened while working there. However, every time that I was frightened it was because of the way a driver was treating me or other employees. I have been called a fat *&*, because a driver wasn't allowed to charge an engine wash to his company and I wouldn't give it to him for free.

I was called a female expletive, that was so disgusting I will not even type it with *s, because a driver thought I charged him too much for a potato washout. I have had two drivers grab my "rear-end," while I was trying to clean the office area, and one driver offered me $50 to "clean his stack."

My husband has been called horrible racial slurs, that I will not repeat. He was told once that they would have done a better job if they didn't have a bay full of "wetbacks." He was then told to go and fetch someone who could speak English. (My husband is Hispanic, but he doesn't speak one word of any other language.) I was also told, by a female truck driver, that my son was cute, for a "half-breed."

I have seen drivers get irate over the sodas in the vending machine being too warm, the amount of time they had to wait in line, the water cooler being outside and everything in between. Not to mention the terrible things some of you have written about us being grease monkeys and blunt tools with bleak futures and miserable lives.

The most terrible incident, though, was when my husband was working the evening shift. I had brought him dinner, with my three month old son. A driver was pulling out of the bay when my husband noticed that the wash was unsatisfactory. He told the driver that the truck would be re-washed. He just needed to pull forward so the truck in the bay could exit, and then pull back into the bay. He refused. He said that he wasn't moving anywhere until they fixed his wash job. Then he climbed into his cab and came back out with a gun. I was terrified. Not only for the life of my husband, but for myself and, most of all, my son. The driver's wife finally convinced him to leave. The police where called, and the man was caught and arrested. (There is more too this story, but I will save that part for later.)

Now, given all of these incidences, do I think that truck drivers are scummy, sexually harassing, racist, gun toting lunatics? of course not. It would be silly for me to judge the entire trucking industry by the actions of a few bad people. But, it is just as ludicrous for people to judge an entire company by the actions of one ex-employee.

Blue Beacon takes all the measures they can to insure they have quality employees, such as drug screening and criminal background checks. If you think about it reasonably, no matter how much they try to prevent it, a company that has thousand of people in their employ is bound to have a few bad ones slip through the cracks. I would also like you all to reasonably consider the fact that most of us, if not all of us, have said or done things that we were not proud of at one time or another.

Perhaps, he is the monster everyone is making him out to be. But, perhaps he is just a normal, emotional kid, who was having a bad day or maybe even provoked by an equally angry lady. (Although she claims to have been completely reasonable, she stated that she had called to complain about her bad wash, six times, before she even reached Kansas City. ???) The actions of this ex-employee were inexcusable, no matter what circumstances contributed to them. That is why he was fired. He did something wrong and he had to face the consequences of his actions. But reading on side of a story and making snap judgments about someone's character is, in my opinion, just as hot-headed and ill-mannered as throwing your middle fingers up for a photograph.

I would also like to address the issue of wash quality. Blue Beacon has put a great deal of time and effort into creating the policies, procedures, and, yes, trade secrets that make them such a successful company. (If anyone off the street could take some guys, wands, maybe a brush, and a rinse machine and turn them into a multi-million dollar company, I think it is fair to say that none of us would be discussing this right now. And a lot of us, including me, would have much more money in our pockets.) Blue Beacon's objective is to provide their customer with a service that is efficient and reasonably priced. That is to say, they want you to have a quality wash job, first and foremost, but they also want to get you back on the road, and making money, as soon as possible.

I agree that most of the employees who have brought up this subject did not articulate themselves very well, but I think I understand the point they were trying to make. The best analogy I can think of is food. You can find fast food places all over the country. People go to them because they can get a meal that tastes good, is inexpensive, and quick. You can also go to a restaurant and get an entirely different caliber of food. However, it will cost more and you will wait a lot longer.

Every one of us face these kinds of choices when we are deciding which service providers to use. We decide which aspects take the most priority and decide where to go, who to use. I think the point that others have tried to make is this: If your hamburger is cold or your fries are stale, please, let us know and we will do everything in our power to make it right. But, you can't expect Filet Mignon from McDonalds.

If you all remember the event I recounted earlier about the man with the gun, it doesn't end there. Two weeks later he sent in a complaint, and, as he is banned from returning to any Blue Beacon, he was issued a refund. When I complained to the home office about this, they said that his actions afterward don't change the fact that he received an unsatisfactory wash. I was and am still furious about this. However, if that doesn't speak volumes about Blue Beacon's commitment to quality, I don't know what could.

I am not saying that the comments some of you have made are completely unfounded. My husband constantly struggles with finding, and keeping, reliable and respectable help. As so many of you have stated, washing trucks is not a very glamorous job. But anyone who is reading this has read the horrible, bigoted statements about truck washers that preceded me. If that is the way those drivers feel and speak about the people washing their trucks, how do you think they treat them?

The saddest part of this circle is all of you people who have responded like that, and the thousands more who think and act just like you, are the reason why it is impossible to keep decent help. Anyone who respects themselves enough to have a good work ethic, will not tolerate being treated with so much disrespect from the customers they are trying to serve. The ones who will put up with that are the ones who don't care what people think and in turn don't care about their work. The washers, the management, the company suits, and the CUSTOMERS all play an equal role in setting the tone for the work environment.

Now, Chase, you asked for reader opinions. Here is mine. Although I have read all of the statements and formed my own opinions about what probably happened that night, I am not saying that I do not believe your claims. The powers that be have to come in after the fact and try to decide what happened, using only the proof that they can see and the word of three different people. Scott stated earlier that the camera caught you in lies. I think that this terminology is too harsh.

However, having had access to Blue Beacon video surveillance, I know that some of your story was embellished or exaggerated, which is perfectly understandable given how upset you were. The problem is, fair or unfair, being caught saying ANYTHING that is untrue is going to hurt your credibility. Scott wrote down the events of the evening before having access to the surveillance video. Without knowing what could or could not be seen on it. He told the manager that Brad had cussed and flipped off the camera before you had sent Blue Beacon your picture. That alone is more than enough to get his brother fired.

I don't see why he would risk his own job by lying about the second half of the story, knowing that his brother was already going loose his. Every detail of his story was backed up by the video, or he would have been let go, as well.

The truth is NO ONE knows what did or did not happen in the truck wash bay except for the three of you that were in it. I say this to defend you and your point of view, but I will also use it to defend the point of view as well. Blue Beacon did everything you would have expected to make the bad wash situation right and fired the employee responsible for treating you badly.

You stated that you wanted Blue Beacon to make sure this didn't happen to anyone else, and that is exactly what they did. As far as the rest, the only thing Blue Beacon could do was consider all the facts and decide which version was the most accurate. The video showed that Scott's story didn't have any inconsistencies in it, and yours did. Bottom Line.

This goes to Mike in North East Maryland, you must not be very bright yourself to say truck drivers are uneducated, to get a CDL you have to have some brains, try to get a hazmat endorsement, I bet you would not understand any of if... Most truck drivers I know personally have been to college and worked the office job or the IT job and some I know were CEO's of fortune 500 companies, they wantetd to leave their boring profession and venture across country to see what its like. I don't know any truck drivers that are not educated, non were ditch diggers that I know.

To drive a 80,000 lb. truck down the road is not as easy as you think, try hangin on and keep it straight between the lines and not kill some stupid people driving cars is not easy and takes skill and you need a brain to do this, we are required to do drug testing so truck drivers are not all drugged out like some of you think, it takes a clear head to move down the road safely, the stupid people are like those that work at blue beacon and smoke pot out back and live off food stamps, they can never be a professional driver like we are. It does take smarts and skills to be a professional driver.

So you must understand we have a job to do and if you are jealous that we can drive a big truck and you can't then tell yourself your too stupid and need an education because we are professional drivers and every driver I know takes pride in their job, not like the stupid people that can only get a washing job at some rip off place because they have no pride in what they do, try not to insult people who have a better life than you because they got what makes them happy in life and that is a professional career, what I guess you guys are professional truck washers... if so then where is your pride in doing a good job, ohh so your not really a professional, sorry I forgot you all make only 8 bucks an hour and spend all that money on your dope.

As too the story about the lady with the BBB well I seen it and hear about this company everyday I drive, my advice is not to use this company. Have not seen one yet that the employees were half way honest at all. I try to go to the small ma & pa places that are family run and it might take longer but you get a better deal. no more blue beacon blues. Just think Mike, we make enough money to pay people to wash our trucks, when most of the people washing trucks can't afford the auto car wash down the street. Try to figure that out if you are educated enough.

on truck drivers side on this one

AUTHOR: Nando - (U.S.A.)

I agree with concerned on this one completely. The whole situation could have been handled a lot better then it was. Brad should have just kept his mouth shut and fingers to himself and I'm glad that idiot got fired. Shouldn't be working at a place like the beacon if your gone to behave that way. Go work a grill somewhere so you don't even see the customers. And I don't even understand that whole trade secret bullcrap. Considering the fact is I have seen the management at my location take pictures of damage in the bay before. All you could see if you took a picture of the bay is a few wash wands and some brushes. How could you even tell what chemical went to which wand if you weren't told. All the main equipment is locked in another room for crying out loud.

Most of the locations are crap. There are a few good ones like the one where I work at. The people at my location will fix any problem on the rare occasion we have one and work willingly with any customer so long as we ourselves aren't assualted (I have seen it happen a few times. Usually a driver all tweaked out are the ones to do it. Luckily those are few and far between.) And if it was just film it could have been easily fixed in like 3 minutes put soap on it brush it and rinse immediately.

Yeah the suits are a bunch of idiots but the suit in a lot of companies are. All they care about is money. Just sue them for the damages if you haven't done so already. If money is a problem there are free legal aid services in many states. And if any Blue Beacon employee disagrees with what i've said wait awhile you will learn the truth eventually. And don't bother insulting me. I could care less what you think of me. I just want to do a good job and make sure the trucks I wash are clean and the customers sastisfied with my work. Good luck with your case concerned.

Value of a Learned Lesson

AUTHOR: D - (U.S.A.)

This is not responding to the accused or the victim. Just a consumer who has learned to avoid the Blue Beacons and after reading the Blue Beacon's employees' responses hear we feel that we have made a good choice.

We have a beautiful tractor that we maintain. My husband and I work 24/7 in shifts as a team, "lazy" I don't think so.

After trying Blue Beacons across the country we have found that the washes are consistently poor.

We wash our tractor ever two weeks and so have a good opportunity to try different truck wash companies. We have several that we choose to go back to because they offer a good wash and wax with rarely us having to point out a missed spot. These truck washes are priced about the same and sometimes less than what Blue Beacon charges.

I am sure that the trucker's that complain to the Blue Beacon employees are good businessmen and women who prefer to get what they pay for.

We have considered our poor service at Blue Beacon a valued lesson and will stear clear.

Best Regards,

Story is easy to believe

AUTHOR: S - (U.S.A.)

I can easily believe this story. Being a college student is a very tough thing, and being one that needs a job is even harder. With all the debt I was in at the time, blue beacon was the only company that wanted to give me a job at the time of my desperation, which is the only reason I applied there in the first place.

At first it sounded good, it was a physical job with benefits and bonuses. I could make a good living even after college, until I decided to persue a career. Then I found out the truth about the beacon...

I worked my tail off for this company, and did a great job as well. I took nothing short of pride in my work, and nothing short of 1000 percent on a daily basis. Sometimes you just don't know why you care, you know? I look back on that time in my life and don't understand why I subject myself to that low of a person or representing a company like the beacon.

I picked up on the wash techniques pretty quick, and did a great job. But when you have supervisors that don't belong in certain positions, who are imcompetent in their jobs, it makes it really hard. Some of them are very good at their jobs, but the ones I ended up having in charge of my shift were extremely incompetent of doing their job. When it comes down to me asking a simple question, or even having him repeat what he said, and that is a chore of it's own, I think it is time for the company to get rid of the lapdog and give someone else who deserves a promotion, like me, give them that said promotion.

But that isn't the way they see things.

This unnamed sup will remain unnamed, but I will say he is the biggest problem I seem to have had with the company. Asking him a simple question or just having him repeat what he said through all that noise and the fact he is too stupid to speak decent english only resulted in an eyeroll and that shaking head disease he seemed to have. He was a good company suck up, which is why they kept him. Everyone had problems with his attitude and arrogance. I was yet to see him do any work. The production manager wasn't much better, when my questions would go not only unanswered, but a joke would be turned out of them, no matter what the question was.

Now, don't get me wrong, there is noone in the history of the entire solar system who has a better sense of humor than me. But even I get tired of being the butt of all the jokes. Especially when I am the best employee that company has ever hired. Noone was hired there was more knowledgeable, faster, or a more thorough washer than me, ever.

Now, a lot of it comes down to jealousy of fellow co workers. I got along with the majority without a problem. But when I was so quick to pick up on the stuff, and was almost promoted to sup before I was even officially hired, that says something.

I think the company realized that I refused to put up with all the bullshit and lies that went on there. I saw right through it. Promotion is not based on performance with the streakin beacon. Promotion there is based on who's needle dick you suck. I am not willing to do such a thing.

I got the offer of a sup job, and as I was told " when you learn how to wash tractor". WTF, is all I had to say, ( considering I already knew how to do that perfectly) but at the time, I needed the money and the hours, so I was willing, and wash tractor I did. I did the best job out of anyone there. But there was always an excuse from them, telling me to wash closer, do this different, ect. Then when I would, they would get mad and put me in the back. Some people can't stand the fact that I outworked them. That didn't anger me half as much as when one guy who had been there a week got my job as a sup after that. Later I found out him and the manager were good friends before he even got hired.

Now, being the butt of the jokes, working my a** off day in, day out, hating what I did but showing up anyway ( when other employees called in sick, making excuses for themselves) ahead of time offering to help earlier shifts, and not getting recognition or a simple thank you.. it wore me out. They hated me, they envied me. Also the simple fact that I took the written test that was given to each and every employee after I had been there for a few months, and scored higher than everyone there, including the manager of the place ( please not that I am the world's worst test taker!!, which says how much lower the company was below me) ... that didn't help my cause any. I remember one incident where the manager of the place asked me who I thought was the best washer there. I said " you're talking to him". When he was through laughing, he asked again. I said, " well, the second best washer you got is ( name withheld). He thought I was joking. But I was the best washer he had. I have every reason to believe that. And so did he.

But I had better plans for myself.

After working there for half a year, I had an extremely busy day one day, trying to get everything squared away, and had bills that HAD to be payed that day. I had called in to tell my boss there I was going to be late, and he got all bent out of shape about it. Is that any way to be to your best worker? The kind of day I was having, I wasn't in the mood, so I told him nevermind, that I wouldn't be in at all that day, if he was going to act like that. He proceeded to tell me I wouldn't work if I didn't come in, so I just hung the phone up. I guess he didn't think I was serious. But I was. THis was on a friday.

Now, when I didn't show up for work the next day, I was called and harrassed relentlesly, begging me to come back. I was offered a raise, a promotion, you name it. I told them I would be in, only to have them call me an hour later, asking where I was. It was fun to trick them and lead them on like they did to me that whole time.

To make a long story short, 2 days later, I got hired to work in the Hawaain islands, no joke. Talk about being better off without the streakin beacon.

So i can tell you, if you're a trucker, you're better off going elsewhere. If your tank ever ended up burned, or scratched, let me tell you honestly, it was on purpose. It wasn't by me or anything. What i saw from those employees that went on behind the scenes... wow..That company likes to bully their employees to a point where they can't take the abuse anymore, then try to make fun of them and tell them to get a sense of humor. Well, when they had to pay for damages to various truckers tires and tanks, I would think they learned. But they never do. Now messing up a truckers things is funny. You don't think so? Oh, get a sense of humor!! Ain't that the way of the beacon?? yea?

There is much more to the story than this, but I am currently on my way to my current job, where I love what I do and they appreciate a hard worker. I still say i was blue beacon's best employee ever. It's just too bad they don't know what they had when they had it.

I am better off without you, streakin beacon.

And I hope nothing but good things on this poor woman who went through what she did. Godspeed to you.

Leeann;

The pic you pointed out as being the wrong hand for shifting was never purported by the pic-poster to injured.

If you take a closer look as you advised the rest of us to do, you will see a caption stating that the pic is proof of admission to the hospital. She never claimed that her left hand was injured.

As for some of the respondants in this topic claiming to be current and former bb employees. Thanks from a

A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS!

I sat here for over an hour reading what has happened. I felt sorry for the truck driver with one exception. I looked closely at the pictures. One she says she had pain when shifting her truck. The hand injure (picture with bruise is her left hand) Not used to shift a truck. Another funny thing is LOOK CLOSELY at the pics. The other hand (left hand)is bandaged in the picture. If you going to show pictures when telling a story at least wrap the hand that hurts.

Both Sides of the Fence

AUTHOR: Pete - (U.S.A.)

I worked for Blue Beacon for over 8 years and was, and still am, very proud of the company. I left Blue Beacon to drive a truck. So I have seen both sides of the road on this arguement.
If what the driver claims is true I am very sorry. However, I cannot see how anyone with that poor of an attitude would become a supervisor on the 12-8 shift at any job. I know that washing the trucks can grow dull...I also know that being a ddiver can get frustrating. People are people and sometimes act out towards the wrong person.
Fact: Blue Beacon does not allow photography at its locations.
Fact: The trade secrets are still trade secrets... drivers claim to know this secret, but they are doing what most drivers do, streching the truth.
Fact: Streakin Beacon is just a cathy as Diesel Dummy. Both are very catchy little insults.
Fact: I made just as much $$ working for Blue Beacon as I did driving a truck, and I was home more often.
I am noones side in all of this. But I have seen drivers be much more abrasive and nasty to truck stop employees, truck wash employees and hell even each other.
I have seen drivers go after employees as though they had killed one of the drivers kids...over something as trivial as polished alum. The polish job, the truck washes, and in this case, the medical bills are all tax deductable.
I grew tired of drivers treating me like I wasn't as good as them because I worked at a truck wash. Well sorry to tell you but driving a truck is far easier than washing one. Yes you can wash it at home...but to wash at the speed they do, with the level of cleanliness is awesome. Yes it could be better, but answer this what is more important the cleaniness of your tractor frame, or delivering that load on time. Think of your customer care.
Taking Blue Beacon to court over this is a waste of time and any money the driver has managed to save. Beacon does have the deep pockets and can strech this out for years.
Let it go...buy your own truck and trailer and you can go to JimBobs Truck Wash. They may look busier because of their line, but its because it takes over 3 hours per truck. Personally when I drove if I had that kind of time, I was sleeping.
Beacon will not be going out of business as long as trucking exists. Nearly every trucking firm in North America uses them. That has to say something for their customer service, quality of service and commitment to satifing every unreasonable driver.

Will this ever be resolved? outrage and empathy

AUTHOR: Dana - (U.S.A.)

As I read through this report along with all the responses to it, I was struck with two main emotions: outrage and empathy.

It is obvious something traumatic happened to this driver. She even has her digitals and the company's video security evidence behind her.

I hope she has filed something in the courts of K.C. in way of a civil suite. No one should have to worry about abuse at a business of any kind.

If she hasn't found a lawyer, she may not be able to afford one. There are other avenues. She could file pre se herself in civil court seeking reperation for the lousy wash that the company admits to as well as for the hospital bill and further medical treatments.

I strongly suggest seeing a pain managment specialist as injuries of that type that are aggravated before they can heal can lead to permanent damage rendering the hand disabled.
A specialist will probably send you for physical therapy. DONT WAIT FOR THE PAIN TO GET WORSE!

It can take years for this to happen so be careful. Don't take this to lightly. It may or may not come to pass but I know from personnal experience that an injury that seems to be only mildly painful and irritating can become a totally disabling condition over years.

Please send an update to let us know if you have obtained counsel or have worked out a reasonable settlement that includes paying for any and all related medical bills.

It is obvious the company knows they are liable for the incident or they wouldn't have offered you anything. What this driver alleges happened is sickening and unfortunately completely plausable.

If all avenues fail, there's always Judge Judy! Good Luck and Good Health.

One side of a story

AUTHOR: Kano - (U.S.A.)

I think you people rush to judgement.
You've got an irate driver giving you half a story. I would venture to say, she was half the problem. Sounds like the employee has moved on now and to me it sounds like the driver should move on too. These guys are often treated like dirt by these drivers. The drivers are often verbally abusive, belittling, and obnoxious. The phone call to the corporate office would probrobly get the guy terminated even if he did nothing wrong. To read this bs makes this woman out to be an angel and the evil corporation that wouldn't address the problem. I for one am not buying it. These guys work their asses off.
The police were called twice according to this driver. Why didn't they do anything if the situation was so bad? Maybe the employees should have called the cops to escort her bigass off the property :)

Maybe she is affiliated with their competition ?
Maybe the lawsuit should be against her for slander and lost wages ?

My point is every situation has two sides and you shouldn't rush to judgement.

First I am not a doctor, but I am very accident prone.

The only time I have EVER bruised that area of my hand is when I fall (And yes I've had things wretched out of my hand before.) When you fall you instinctively put your hands out in front of you. I have also sprained my wrist a couple of times during the same fall.

Either way it's obvious the employee, Brad, is an unprofessional, hippie loser, who likes to abuse women (mentally or physically). Hey, here's a clue...maybe she hasn't gotten a lawyer because she has no case. Maybe she keeps dragging this story out because she likes the attention. Some people like crap to happen to them so they have something to complain about. How 'bout next time you wash your own truck, I mean, obviously you have the time. Oh, and if your case was for real, many lawyers will take it for a piece of the settlement, so don't say you can't afford one. Take the $200 and buy a pressure washer. Maybe one day you'll stop wanting to be a victim.

Thoughts from a former Manager

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

To begin with, I would like to extend my sympathies to this lady. Regardless of whatever the "facts" are, no one should have to go through something like this, a fact that Blue Beacon International knows only too well.

I am a former Operations Manager for Blue Beacon. I worked with them for over 8 years, also, and although I realize I am posting a little behind the game here, this was just forwarded to me and I could not let it by.

To begin with, I find it hard to believe that anyone is having an incredibly difficult time taking this poor woman at her word merely using the picture of the 12-8 supervisor as evidence. I don't think that any employee "flipping off" a customer is going to carry very much credibility with the rest of the story. Let me preface the following with a straight forward admission. I left Blue Beacon after a lot of sweat, blood, and yes even tears, mainly due to the clientel. I realize that this is an inflammatory statement, but there will be too many readers of this who will want to quickly point out that I had a reputation for "getting into it" with truck drivers. Do I believe that drivers are difficult to deal with? I would have to answer with a resounding yes, but who isn't in this age of service based industry? Unfortunately, I had to leave the company to realize that it wan't JUST truck drivers!

This poor woman suffered, as many truck drivers who frequent Blue Beacon do, due to a battle raged between a group of overpaid men who sit in a office or cubicle hundreds of miles from the operation and float policy after policy to a group of predominantly 18-21 year old young men. These young people are told day in and day out to increase their SOS (SPeed of Service), all the while increasing the level of quality performed. Folks, I feel confident that no one reading this is ignorant to the fact that this is just not possible. Yet the pressure is on to do just this, and for many of these young people, this job is helping to provide the mainstay of support for a family of 3 or 4 people. One contributor spoke of these young people as dumb, or whatever they said, but who is going to do it? This is an important part of the trucking industry, and let's be thankful there are these young folks who are willing to work the hours (8-12 a day), with, yes, only a 15 or 20 minute break. (I never did understand how they got past OSHA on this....someone should call and ask???)

My point here is that, although these young men are responsible for their actions, as we all are, let's not take away from the one overwhelming fact that looms over this and other ordeals like it. Blue Beacon International is the one the truck drivers of this country have to change, not the 18 year old kid soaping down your truck to make $8.00 an hour. When customers fill out these comment cards and send them in, complaining of the poor wash service, they do not realize just how these bay attendant's and supervisor's hands are tied by the bureaucratic BS that the Walker clan and their minions have conjured up. By all means, Blue Beacon should be held accountable for the actions of these men, they are responsible for the training these folks receive. They have a lawyer who likes to write letters to everyone explaining policy and rules, when actually they should put him in the bay to look over these young folks when they are manhandled by an irrate customer because the elbow on his stack still has film. Instead of scaring these kids with these comment cards, how about just helping wash a truck? I have seen these kids reduced to tears over these stupid cards, supervisors demoted because they had a bad day and got 6 cards in a month. Let's face it folks, many of you have said yourself over the years that if Blue Beacon used handmitts, the wash would be 10x better. Your right, but does the 18 year old kid decide that? No, the get-a-long gang in Salina does that.

In summary, please undestand that I LOVED my job. I feel very strongly, even as an ex-employee, how sorry I am that this young lady had to deal with this from this company. BUt please remember that you all have it in your power to change this. Jason said it best earlier....Use the Smartwash. Maybe there are not as many as Blue Beacon has right now, but if you show Blue Beacon that you are ready for better all around service, than make the change! It has been so long since Blue Beacon has had any sort of real competition, and I am eagerly awaiting the day when the truck drivers are going to stand up, and with a loud voice, tell Blue Beacon and the joy luck club in Salina where to stick it.

Finally, Lisa, God bless your heart, you know I love you to death, but I cannot believe what you wrote. You of all people have seen time and again all sides of this company...especially how they treat family and friends. You know how incident reports were filled out, and most of all you know the pressure these kids are put under. I know, I used to have to be the one to do it. Lisa feels very strongly about this beacuse she has family with BB, and I support you in this fact, but Lisa, you know too much. Be proud, but be understanding, as well.

Do what your gut tells you as far as truck washing goes forget Blue Beacon, they are arogant and egotistical and think they own thw world. They are so over priced, in to much of a hurry, and the lines are to dog gone long. I have switched to that new SmartWash Express, the quality is a little less then Blue Beacon but damn the waits have never been more then 20 minutes and the and the wash time is only 9 or 10 minutes and the price is half as much! I can say too tha the employees are very, very nice and helpful. Also, Lisa in Indianapolis are you single? I want....well never mind you just sound hot!

To all concerned

AUTHOR: Will - (U.S.A.)

In response to the last comment made. Yes, it is very true about who you hire, as a Manager of a company, that they reflect the kind of managerial job that he/she does. But working at a truck wash is alot like working at an answering service, ther is not alot of pay and the hours stink. And no I do not work at either one of those, I am an owner of a small trucking company in West Texas and yes I do have a college degree and yes I do drive the trucks alot of the times to help out the other drivers time off. Everyone concerned needs to quit griping about everything going on and let the proper people handle this situation. In case alot of you that may not know who this is {THE COURTS}. Because in reality all you all are doing when you constantly gripe about what went on and all the circumstances that ocurred on that day is that you are hurting yourselves in trying to prove any cause one way or the other.
The more you all call names you are just proving your true education in the matter. Yes I have had my trucks washed at Blue Beacons before. In Texas I really have not had any problem out of them. The shop in Laredo was very professional and in Dallas also. Word to the wise; let the courts take of this and the truth will be known one way or the other.

PS. most drivers are very professional and educated, but when you have to deal with dispatchers who screw you around they tend to let it get to them, but that is where the professional should come out in them or any one else for that matter. As the old saying goes {ACUNA MATTA} don't worry about it because it will just make you have a bad day nad it's just not worth it.

Streekin Beekin... some good, some bad

AUTHOR: Michael - (U.S.A.)

I got my truck and trailer washed at the Kingman AZ Blue Beacon one year. They did a HORRIBLE JOB, with streaks visible on the truck and trailer. When I complained, I was confronted with vulgarity, threats of assault and injury as well as threats of arrest for "tresspassing". I complained to the Corporate Offices, and was told that their "investigation" supported the employee's story. (What....that my truck was clean?)

A few years later, I got a different truck washed at a Blue Beacon in Fernley, NV during the late evening hours. About 9 am, someone knocked on my truck (at the Pilot next door), woke me up and identified himself as the Blue Beacon Manager and asked if I had just got my truck washed. I said yes and showed him my receipt. He said the "wash-job" looked like "hell" and told me that if I had time to bring my truck back over and they would re-wash it. It all goes back to the quality of employees that Blue Beacon hires, as well as the way the employees are treated by their bosses. If they have MORONS for a boss, all the employees will be of the same low-quality. Good employees seldom stay employed for long at a company that fosters a hostile work enviornment, either toward the employees or the customers.

They should have been arrested that very day they assaulted you. They check they sent you is a joke. If you cash the check it may be used against you that you settled. No excuse for that

AUTHOR: Jesse - (U.S.A.)

I don't care what the customer has done or said, there is no excuse for what that truck wash ex-employee had done.

I have found over the years that customers can be wrong, and I have had my fair share of abusive customers. But I never lowered myself to the level that the guy in the pictures did when dealing with customers. If I had a problem, I dealt with it in a calm and PROFESSIONAL manner.

What this guy did was inexcusable. He set back the progress of customer-employee relations God knows how many years.

Get Organized

AUTHOR: Patricia - (U.S.A.)

My husband was an OTR driver, don't underestimate the value of the CB. There are also numerous magazines that you can submit your story to. Truckers are very loyal to each other and word of mouth spreads like wildfire.

I wish you all the best in your recovery and hope this company does something ti right this...and not a lousy $200 bucks.

The "gentleman" giving the finger to the camera should be ashamed. Children often ride along with their mom/dad on the truck. What a belligerent attitude.

No Basis for Lawsuit

AUTHOR: Mike - (U.S.A.)

If the customer was physically assaulted, that is wrong and she is entitled to compensation. However, her story has several flaws. I think that the police did not arrest the employees because they did not think it was justified and this speaks volumes about this incident. I also think that the customer does not have a lawyer yet because, when the facts are known, she will not have a viable case. It is interesting to note that she no longer has issue with Brad, her so called assailant, but rather with Blue Beacon. Could this be because Blue Beacon's pockets are much deeper?

I am a long term employee and I do not want to delve into issues of abusive customers or poor customer service by employees. But I will say this-Brad's response, as seen in the photo, is unacceptable regardless of the customer's behavior. Blue Beacon did the right thing by terminating his employment.

As for the so called "acid" damage to the truck, there is none. The truck has film on the aluminum. The customer rubbed the film off several spots on the tank as evidenced in the photos. Salt and other de-icers will quickly oxidized polished aluminum, leaving a heavy film that can be rubbed off with firm hand pressure. This film cannot be removed with our brushes, they have soft bristles so they won't scratch polished aluminum or chrome. The only way to remove this heavy film is with an acid based cleaner or by polishing/buffing. If "acid" had been used, the tanks would be white and there would be no film. Experienced truck drivers know this.

To the gentleman that commented regarding the intelligence and "bleak" future of truck wash employees: Truck wash bay attendants are not normally career employees. Most move on to other professions and many end up driving trucks themselves. In general, truck drivers are not a very educated group. If they went to college, they would have a white collar job rather than one that pays less and keeps them away from their families. It seems that this gentleman is trying to make himself feel better by degrading others.

Why is the Cleaning Company not Falling Over Itself to Rectify This Problem??!!

AUTHOR: Christine - (Canada)

Wow. I can't believe what this poor lady has been through. Just one photo showing a beligerent man popping the finger & smirking says it all. What I don't understand is why the company isn't jumping through hoops to resolve the situation. She had photos (regardless of the company's "policy" regarding photos, she obviously needed to take them) showing what had happened. She obviously sustained physical injuries. My biggest question is why didn't the police charge the employee who forcibly grabbed this women (and it had to be with considerable force based on the bruising/swelling shown in the photos) with assault? This employee has admitted to grabbing at this woman & yet they are not willing to compensate her for the injuries she sustained?

I honestly believe everything she has posted. Here is why I believe her. Many years ago, I took my vehicle into a place that did on the spot oil changes. My husband was also with me. When the employee drove our car into the bay, he was having alot of difficulty doing so. At first we thought it was because he might not have had much experience with a manual transmission. However, once he got out of the car, he started bumping into things & his eyes were red and spaced out. That was when we realized that he was either drunk or stoned or maybe even both. As the car was new & he appeared impaired, we told him that we would pull the car out of the bay ourselves. We told him that we changed our minds & that we wanted to leave. He refused to stop, as he said that since he already had the car in the bay & hoisted up,he was going to finish it. We advised him that we didn't feel he was capable of doing a proper job, as it appeared that he was either drunk or stoned out. As a result, we told him he better not proceed with the oil change or I would call the police. He stopped when I made the threat.

The other employee (cashier & gas pump operator) refused to return our keys, unless we paid for the oil change. Without payment, we weren't going to get our vehicle. I told him that we were not going to give any money & that we wanted the keys back. He still refused. I told him that he needed to call his manager, as we were obviously at a stalemate. He told me that he had no way of contacting his manager. I told him that I worked for the same company (which was true) & that it was policy to contact the manager in this sort of situation. He reiterated that he had no way of contacting his manager. When he said that again, I reached over the counter, in an attempt to grab my keys. He grabbed my wrist, punched my arm, called me many nasty names & told me that if we didn't pay, he was calling the police. He also tried to grab my purse, as he wanted my wallet to get the money they were "owed" for the oil change. I pushed him away & told him to get his dirty hands off me. I told him to go ahead & call the police, as there was no way we were going to pay a single cent. My husband walked out of the garage, as he was very upset & was afraid if he stayed there, he was going to end up punching out the cashier.

My husband & I sat outside of the garage for about 15 minutes. The cashier came out & told us that they would be closing in less than an hour and that we wouldn't get the car that evening unless we paid. I told him that if that's what they had to do, then that was fine. I told him we would call a taxi cab & if any damage was incurred to the vehicle, I would hold them responsible for it. I told him that I was going next door to a pay phone & I was going to call the police myself.

The officer was there within 5 minutes. He did the test they do for impaired drivers & concluded the garage employee was impaired. He asked the cashier to call the manager & guess what? He had no problem reaching the manager at home. The officer explained what had happened to the manager. The manager then asked to speak with me. He was very apologetic. He told me that since the garage employee was impaired, his employment was being terminated immediately. He told us that we would get our keys back & wouldn't owe anything. He even offered compensation. I told him I didn't need any compensation. I just wanted me keys back, so I could get out of there. He then asked to speak with the cashier & with the garage employee. He then asked to speak with the officer again. He did fire the garage employee over the phone, as he asked the office to ensure that the employee left without removing or destroying any property.

The cashier didn't like how the situation was resolved. So he told the officer that he wanted me to be charged with assault. The office asked him if he really wanted to do this, as I was no where near his size or his physique (he was reading a muscle man magazine). Once the officer said that, he changed his mind.

So, for anyone hear that thinks this lady's story isn't truthful, I'm telling you I've had a similar experience. I also work in customer service & there is absolutely no excuse for the behaviour of any of the employees involved. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. If you are real men, you will own up to your mistakes and offer this woman an apology. Obviously the owners of this company aren't too concerned about resolving this matter in a professional manner either. This lady had to take photos, as it was obvious to her that it was the only way to prove her story. No one & I mean no one had the right to touch her at all. They also had no right in physically removing the camera from her person. If they didn't like the fact she was taking photos, then they should have contacted the police. Without that camera, she had no way to corroborate her story. When employees know they've behaved inappropriately, they will all band together to cover up for each other.

Here's another thought to chew on. If these men can treat another woman this way when they are supposed to be acting in a professional manner, how to they treat their girlfriends or their wives? I hope they don't go home with the same feelings of anger & aggression that they showed to this poor lady.

Well, that's my 10 cents worth. Even if the managers might not fully believe this poor lady, they should still be bending over backwards to provide her with a satisfactory resolution. If she can, she needs to have the police charge any of the employees that hurt her physically with assault. I feel for her, as she is a single mom & she's working to make ends meet. She doesn't need this stress & aggravation. I hope everything works out for you & shame on any of the employees that were involved in this matter.

This company is nothing but a headache for my husband.

AUTHOR: Sarah - (U.S.A.)

They do things I'm not sure they can do. They dock his pay for little mistakes made for however long. They say they look into things that are wrong with like check stubs but never fix them (no raise, wrong tax info, charged for stuff they order,...) they promised him things but never follow through.

To the lady who has the truck and all the problems: be prepared get everything together as best you can i wish you luck for they are a crooked company and will do everything they can so you won't get what you want or they will take a long time to correct the problem. Ya they might have paid for the truck problem, but they should also pay for whateve0 else happened there. It is not your fault their cameras are crap and don't work, they probably just said that so there would not be proof of what happened.

Needless to say I am ECSTATIC that my husband will not be there too much longer!!!!
Good luck to you.

200$ check?

AUTHOR: Wow - (U.S.A.)

As I understand from your letter, quite lengthy I might add, you were compensated for the damage to your polished tank. You got $200 dollars to fix what Blue Beacon did wrong. You then refuse to cash that?!

You then start to talk about suing Blue Beacon for the abuse. You saw a doctor, and got your bills, now get a lawyer.

Blue Beacon has no reason to compensate you, unless a judge made them, now that you are talking about suing them.

They will go to court just as fast as you can. I assume they took full responsiblity for the damage to your truck, and by you cashing the check, agree that all claims from that incident are taken care of.

As far as the abuse the employees caused to you, if your claim is authentic, and you have lost money and time, sue them. Do you and your family a favor. I think you are full of BS if you haven't done so by now.......

I've been watching this mess with Mary.

Abused, don't say anything more. Take what you have to the police and the court. Check with police for all reports locally filed on Blue Beacon and this Brad. Get any and all pertinent information that shows any abuse by either of them, at any time in the past. Contact the victims. Use it. You could be set up for life girl.

Put a stop to businesses getting away with employing known abusers or people with abusive mannerisms. I know the attitude this guy has.

By the way, I'm not a truck driver!

Blue Beacon employees, by posting messages, you are only hurting your employer. You are openly and publicly telling all on yourselves. Scott and Brad and Brads girlfriend, you have all admitted guilt towards the customer, and displayed the very attitude she complained about in your defensive rebuttals. I'm glad she was answering you, it gave ample opportunity for you to all show yourselves.

Now it's time for her to go to work. If I could I would give her the money to do it.

Blue Beacon-Your business screwed up, why have you not at least offered to pay her medical bills? What's the big deal about not paying her for her troubles? You make more in one day than what you would be paying her. I guess you like going to court, and spend more money!

As for the "secret"?! Haha what some guys, wands, maybe a brush, and a rinse machine, none of which gets used properly? Thanks for the laugh Matt.

What "Secrets"?

AUTHOR: Rob - (U.S.A.)

Physically taking personal property to protect trade secrets? Come on, Matt... The secret has been out for years. Does "Streakin' Beacon" ring a bell?

The only possible situation where someone would take a picture of Blue Beacon equipment would be to submit a complaint to Rip Off Report for the worst truck wash in history.

As far as working long hours and being underappreciated; that is simply a fact of life, Matt. How people deal with confrontational situations is a good indicator as to how successful they will be in life (doesn't look too good for the Kansas City Blue Beacon crew).

the drivers should think about the stress on the employees

AUTHOR: Matt - (U.S.A.)

I think that the name calling is a little childish but they do have a point. Sometimes the drivers don't think about how hard we work and how stressful it can be on us. We wash trucks eight to ten hours a day with only a 20 min. break and when someone comes in with a bad attitude it just pisses you off.

I admit we do make mistakes just like everyone else. We may miss a couple spots or put a burn on a tank but it isn't anything to flip out over. It can easily be taken care of.

The reason they took the camera is to insure that trade secrets can't be captured on film or where ever. We are trained to take these kind of precations to ensure that blue beacon has the best truck wash equipment.

Chase,

Now, take this the right way. I am not criticizing you, but stop talking. It isn't going to get you anywhere on here and actually may be hurting your case. Do yourself a favor, and go get an attorney. Many of them will take you on a contingency basis. The norm is 1/3 for the attorney of settlement and 2/3 for you. You will have to pay your medical bills from your 2/3.

If Blue Beacon already offered you a settlement, take that to the attorney. Do not cash it. Attorney's love bodily harm cases. Call around for the most reasonable one. Check with the bar association in Kansas City. The Chamber of Commerce can tell you how many complaints there are at the Blue Beacon. The bar can recommend an attorney for you.

You need to be ready with a list of questions as you interview attorneys. Questions like, how long have you been practicing, and how many cases have you won. As another person stated, Blue Beacon is already preparing. Don't waste any more time. You already know that the people involved will not admit to anything. Take it to court. The evidence will present itself, and the court, along with a good attorney, will take care of the problem.

Just remember that if you do file a suit, you name all parties involved. The location that did the bad wash job, at the other location, both employees, the manager, and Blue Beacon. Whoever was there. Abuse is abuse. Take it to court. Abuse should be tolerated by no one, man or woman. Not for any reason. Size is not the reason that you had problems. The problems are within the brothers. It violates your civil rights under our constitution. It is about time that people learn how to act civilized instead of like a bunch of wild animals. You get what you give. What goes around comes around.

Now start thinking and stop talking. Any lawyer will tell you not to say anything without him or her present. Get to it. Don't waste any more time. There are time limits on filing. This is meant as encouragement. Go for it.

Sounds like the employees at this location need some education in more ways than one. For everyone's information, truck drivers are no longer uneducated or former ditch diggers or floor sweepers. There are executives and blue collar workers on the road today modernizing the trucking industry. No one should be criticizing truckers. Two weeks in this country with no trucks and there would be no food, clothing, or big boy toys out there. Think about it.

I am a former Blue Chip Company Executive, Female Truck Driver and proud of it.

Not being fair to customer / victum

AUTHOR: Mary - (U.S.A.)

Lisa, you need to open your ears your not hearing her.

John, why don't you put yourself in her shoes.

She has ever reason to want her bill paid. John, you probably would have stomped the daylights out of the kid.

Hey, what ever happened to the customer is always right? Or owning up to a wrong. Sounds like they could close this case, by the big company, simply paying the bill caused by this obviously immiture kid in there employee. Maybe give her something for her trouble.

No biggy. But, they could loose more in the long run if they don't.

I would like to know why she hasn't got a lawyer, though. But, with fuel prices, I could not afford one myself.

Other wise, if you choose to write, your cruel stuff, she has every right to defend her position.

You are starting to get annoying

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

Chase, Darlin', You are starting to get annoying, your ranting is making you look bad.

Lisa offered some very constructive comments; I believe after reading all these posts, you are really starting to look bad.

You don't take advice or suggestions well.

I'd love to see you on "Judge Judy" she'd tear you up..., maybe you should go to court; as courts are often not objective, but subjective, I think I know how you would fare.

Chill Chase!

I never one time said that this lady was LYING about her story. I simply just stated the facts about the company and my opinions of the story. I'm just saying that it was hard for me to believe. I told you that I know that there are some bad people out there. I was not there, I know that. That's why my thoughts on the story is an opinion. Although I do have from GOOD source that the physical abuse was not true. (Not from Brad or Scott either.)

I did not lie about the cameras. This is a working progress for all Blue Beacons to have them installed. Not one person can get to them all at once. It's just when I have seen for myself how clear they are and you can see detail, then yes I have do have to say that this is a fact, not a lie.

It is very clear that he was not professional with you, or he would not have been fired.

I know for a fact no matter what you or anyone else wants to say to turn things around in my above statement that Blue Beacon takes care of there customers. Since you had a bad experience at one of our 100 locations (around about 100) does that mean that we are all bad. It's not saying that this one Blue Beacon is bad, it just had a bad apple. Which also doesn't say that Brad is a bad person either. He just made a bad decision.

I guess I'm not going to be eating my words since Blue Beacon did pay for the damage.

I still stand for all that I wrote. So there is not much for me to say in this rebuttal here. So I want to save everyone the energy of me just repeating myself.

IF everything you said was true, then I truelly do feel for you. Please understand that I'm not wanting to argue with you on any of this. That's why this is called a rebuttal. We all get to say what we know and think. I have seen some of the above rebuttals above and I do not agree with the way things have been worded on some of them. I apologize for some of the immature comments that they have made. I guess for Brad and Scott things are more personal for them because of what Brad is being accused of. If it isn't true then I have to understand his feelings.

Even though this has nothing to do with all of this, I want you to know that I do understand how it is to get in a $ problem over doctor, hospital bills, etc. I had a child without having insurance. Without all the details I can undestand all the up to $16,000.00 worth. (Out of my pocket with no help.)So I know that any money problem can be stressful. I do hope that you get help with that.

I was hoping that you wouldn't take anything I said the wrong way. You feel that everyone has the right to know your side of the story. I feel that everyone has the right to know that Blue Beacon is not the bad guys you say they are. If you have so much proof, then why haven't you gotten a lawyer yet? I'm being sincere when I say that.

I want to thank you for all the creative thinking that you put into this to put my thoughts down. You have been getting upset when others have done that to you, yet you have turned aroundand done the same thing. I realize that you are not going to like what anyone has to say unless they are agreeing with you. I guess that's understandable. There is no use for me to comment on everything you wrote back on. I know how the company works. Sorry that you don't see it that way.

I am putting this at a rest on my end. Everyone who truly knows the kindness of Blue Beacon towards their customers, no matter the gender, knows that you can trust us.

I think that a lot of us, not everyone, wants to just get on with our lives. So I will not come back to this website to read any more comments that I can't find myself to believe in the first place. (Just the physical abuse part.) Just incase that was taken wrong by anyone, that was not meant to put anyone down or sound bad. Hopefully we can be adults and understand what I'm saying by that.

I wish you the best of luck. I hope everything works out for you. Take care of yourself.

Blue Beacon Truck Wash Lies and inaccuracies

AUTHOR: Chase - (U.S.A.)

Cannot believe some of the things I just read from both Scott and Lisa. Main computer was in shop and I did not know comments were being posted, or I would have responded to such falsities sooner.

Scott you were there. I know blood sticks with blood and you must support your brother. But, when you twist things or only tell half of the story it does not sound right coming from you. Yes, the camera showed the two of you, but that was on the second go round. You know that.

You also know, When Brad came around the front of the truck you were the instigator, the "egging" was done by you telling Brad to go back to the office. I did not say much before turning the camera on him.

Also, in regard to the "VIDEO" did you Scott, or you LISA know that several people in management, admitted that the cameras in the bay are dysfunctional?

One employee at the Amarillo facility, that I had to stop at, the next day, by request of Blue Beacon, stated that Blue Beacon policy is no cameras in wash bay, that they take it so seriously that none of the wash bay cameras work.

Mr. Greg Thomas refuses to pay my medical bill because the camera was not working in the bay. To see the physical abuse part.

I do believe that alone shoots 1/2 Lisa's remarks down. #1 I do believe she is sincere. #2 She's right she was not there. #3 She's right again, She does not know the facts. #4 She's a liar, without realizing it. Blue Beacons cameras do not see every corner.

#5. Blue Beacon did not take care of this customer.

#6 Blue Beacon did not take care of my truck, without pulling teeth to get it done.

#7 Blue Beacon did admit to almost all the story, not just in regard to the truck. My goodness they even fired him, come on lady! He did not wash the truck!

#8. This woman was not taken just as seriously, not with the abusive comments mentioned above that those two boys were spouting.

#9 Kansas City management stated, that Brad was well known for his attitude and sarcastic comments. So Blue Beacon had knowledge of this persons ways, he was good for security, but, they could have prevented this.

#10 Serious action was taken Lisa. But, I'm still sitting here looking at almost a thousand dollars in medical cost, from within 24 hours of incident. That's my beef.

You want to say I'm over reacting. Go ahead. This hurt my financial credit. What would you do? I venture to say, you would not wish to have someone named Lisa, try to demean, justify, or put you down. Even place well meaning employer-supportive misplaced comments in your face? $1,000 almost Lisa. You want me to just eat it? Just quietly go away? When it happened on and due to Blue Beacon Customer abuse?

Then there is the employees who generalize. Who want to Stereotype all truck drivers together. Oh, yes, Lisa even your well trained, Customer orientated........everything you said employees, can't wait to jump at the chance to discriminate against your customer. The Truckdrivers. Read some of the above...From an employee Lisa-he makes your comments look foolish and like lies Lisa.

You think I'm looking for something for nothing? You thing I'm over reacting? Go ahead think what you want, the truth is the truth. You want to be PROUD of all these people, the Blue Beacon? It's your right. But, I have my rights too.

As for rebuttal entered 10/09/04 I have not been back and will never.

As for you Scott. I wish I had the time to talk about the "truth" but, it would just be a repeat of the above, original text.

Everyone here has forgotten the bottom line.

I could prove even more lies, would take forever, and mostly be a repeat. But, My PROUD friends pictures don't lie, and believe me I took tons. The truck wash job, Brad (there are more), the hand/wrist (taken by the nurse). This digital camera also takes great short videos, with wonderful sound. Some even last 5 minutes, because of my SanDisc 512MB memory card, in this Kodak DX6440. There are the bills, stamped and dated. There are all the e-mails from several people at Blue Beacon, including Greg Thomas and others in corporate. There are also other witnesses. Lisa? Brad? Scott? Do all those lie too?

I'd love to have tea with you Lisa, bet you'd eat your words.

I've given time for Blue Beacon to finish doing right and pay the rest of their bill. They have not.

This truck driver belittlement and stereotyping does not sit well with me either.

Woman to Woman / Facts and Opinions

AUTHOR: Lisa - (U.S.A.)

I know how difficult it may be at times as a woman for people to take you seriously. Although, if we are woman enough, we get over that and go on with our lives.

I am a proud employee of Blue Beacon. Please understand that I am in no way putting you down as a person, but it is very hard for me to believe everything that you have stated. I think that we all can agree that we can exaggerate our stories. Almost everyday when I am out there for examle at Walmart, I feel that the customer service could be better. On the other hand I have to realize that none of us are perfect in everything that we do. So do I give them a chance again, yes. I think that none of us would be anywhere without a second chance.

It bothers me to see comments like Blue Beacon needs to straighten up on their customer service, etc. I have been with the company for eight years now. I have worked at several locations throught out the nation. Family and friends too.

FACT # 1. Blue Beacon takes customer service very seriously. That is the one of the many things that they preach about everyday. Along with taking care of the customers vehicle.

Fact # 2. Each manager is hand picked for each location. No one in this position just comes off the street with the title Manager. Blue Beacon is not going to just stick any individual out there. There are numerous training courses that they have to go through.

Fact # 3. The home office is not going to just ignore the customer and cover up the employees actions. Blue Beacon will take care of the customer.

Fact # 4. The home office has managers travel through out the nation to visit the customers personally at the convience of the customers homes with gifts to show them how much we appreciate each and everyone of you. (Now how many companies out there are going to visit you saying thanks other than MAYBE,let me stress the word MAYBE, a letter?)

Fact # 5. If the home office is aware of the fact of employees not conducting themselves in a professional manner at all times, then serious action is taken.

Fact # 6. Blue Beacon follows up with every concern and question that anyone may have.

Fact # 7. Blue Beacon has cameras installed to be able to view nearly every crack and corner. I know the people who install them personally.

Fact # 8. If Blue Beacon is responible for the damaged areas on the vehicle, they will pay for it. That's probably what the $200 offer was for since your tanks or whatever it was, was damaged. Not to say, Hey sorry that you were physically abused, which seems to be no proof of.

Fact # 9. Women are taken just as serious as Men.

Fact # 10. I have never been more proud to work for a company that takes so much pride in what they do. I do not know of a single company out there that takes care of the customers like them.

With all of this, I know that there are a few bad apples out there everywhere. At Blue Beacon those people will not be tolerated.

The comment that Blue Beacon admitted to almost the whole story, etc, I'm sure it was to the part where they agreed that you had damaged tanks.

When you said that you were given different names, are you sure that you just didn't misundertand? As you know it is hard to hear anyway with the noise from the semi's. That's why you see a lot of truck drivers wear ear protection while they are in their truck.

I honestly feel that you have blown this whole nasty terrible story out of range. As a female employee I am hurt by this. I know that that comment may seem silly, but it's just I know how much we care about our customers.

I'm not saying that the EX-employee wasn't professional with you. How could I know that since I wasn't there? With the above giving facts, Blue Beacon is so serious about customer care that they let him go. Doesn't that say enough there. They also want to pay for the damange on the truck. Shouldn't stand for something. It wasn't meant as a pay off for you to leave them alone.

I will be the first to admit, not every wash is going to be perfect. What in this world is? I do know that with all the years that I have been here and seen for myself that we will indeed take care of the customer everytime. Sometimes it is very hard to deal with a customer that is cusing and yelling at us, but we do the best we can. Everyday through out the whole nation we are verbally abused and threatened by drivers. All over a wash. We are accused of many things that we actually have not done. Some trucks come in with the paint or whatever already damaged and try to put it on us after the wash. So yes some things have to get turned away like that. We will own up to anything that we do.

It's natural to have outside opinions about Blue Beacon and give silly names like, "Streaken Beacon." I think people like that phrase because it ryhmes. People come back because they know that we will take care of them.

I have been to resturants before where the customer service stinks. Does that mean that food is not good? Of course not. Do I get upset? Yes. Do I try to put the company down and give them a bad name for that one incident? Of course not. I may think about it for a day or so, but I go on with my life.

I'm sorry that you feel that you were mistreated. It's not a good feeling. I think that it is in our nature to over exaggerate things in our favor. I honestly feel that this is the situation here. I just can not bring myself to believe that with all that I know about the company that a situation got so out of hand that physical abuse was forced apon you.

I hope that everyone realizes that this lady and that the man has their own side to this. We do have cameras posted everywhere for prove our side. Realize that we all are not angels from above and neither is this lady who states this information given for the world to read. I bet that there has been someone in your life that you have ran into whether you know them or not, where you haven't been the most pleasant person. Does this make you a terrible person? No. Well neither are we.

Do I think that we all need to be careful out there in the world? You better believe it. Although I know Blue Beacon is not a place that you have to worry about.

Blue Beacon realizes that you are the heart and soul of our company. Without you, where would we be?

I apologize for writing so much. I just believe that you all deserve to know how much the customers are loved.

I have stated facts about the company. I have also stated my opinion on the rest of what she says that has happened. Hoping that this statement doesn't sound the wrong way, but how can either be wrong? Please give us another chance to regain any convience that some of you may have lost.

Working hard to be your #1 truck wash.

Sincerely.

A woman who feels safe at Blue Beacon

I wish people could have heard the truth first.

AUTHOR: Scott - (U.S.A.)

I cannot believe this is still going on. This is getting outragous. You can base your opinion on the story of this lady, You can base your opinion on a picture, or you can base your opinion on the truth and history. My name is Scott.

I was there that night with my brother. My brother and I were both supervisors of the 12 - 8 shift at Blue Beacon. Night after night we were trusted alone to run the wash. Every month, we are given a ranking out of all the other double bay locations for our shift. The rankings are based on quality, speed of service, and, most importantly, customer care.

And believe it or not a "creep, jerk, grease monkey," or whatever you people want to call Brad led his shift to be in the top 5, and number 1 for probably the last 5 months he worked there, for the last three years. He worked there for five years and was never in trouble or never written up. But because this lady wants to blow this story up, he doesn't even have a job now.

I heard things that were said and I informed my boss of everything that happened that night without leaving any detail out. I had no reason to lie. I told them he cussed and called names. I told them he flipped off the camera before pictures were put on the computer. But there are plenty of things said that this lady chooses to leave out. But thats one persons word against anothers. My story was typed, dated, and reported to my work before any of this was typed. The video of the night shows that no lies were told. Every moment and action that occurred is spoken for. If a picture is worth a thousand words than how many is a video worth? I can state three lies in the first couple paragraphs that the video can prove.

#1: She wrote, "Went around building, knocked on window and door. no response." Video shows you didn't get out of your truck when you got there nor did you have time to.

#2: She wrote, "tooted horn on three seperate occations with 1-2 minutes apart." That is a minimum of 3 minutes. Video shows I was out the door within 2 minutes of your arrival.

#3: She wrote, "He(bill i was later told)thrust arms.... shouting.." Later it is stated that "bill" is Brad. Video shows I opened the doors and Brad was at the front of the bay waiting to guide the truck in.

Thats 3 of many lies that can be proven. As for Brad flipping off the camera, he flipped off and person being just as obscene and irrate as Brad. She was egging Brad on. And he flipped off a person trespassing, not a customer. She was asked to leave before ever entering the bay. She was not a customer to us.

p.s. Chase, if you want to talk about attitude, I believe Brad was referred to as "cruel, cold-hearted,assuming,undisciplined,unkind,angry,sarcastic,sarcastic creep, jerk, what ever low life name comes to mind," and overall a liar. He sat back and had to read all of this. He even wrote a response, without name calling, and you want to say we twist words and have an attitude.

If anyone is making this personal, or making the "beef" it is you. I was wondering, how long does it take to twist your wrist and pull a camera out of your hand? Oh please use your bad wrist and write back because I dont understand how you could type so much with such a serious injury.

Go Darren! actions speak louder than words

AUTHOR: Nancy - (U.S.A.)

"A bully (or abuser) depends on this attitude. If they get called on it then they turn it around by saying that they were "just joking" or "you can't take a joke" or whatever else they can do to make the person think that it is their fault."

Darren, you know my ex husband? LOL. You just described him to a T when he was mentally abusing me, I won't go into the physical that followed a few years later.

You are so correct that actions speak louder than words. Brad looks like a real winner to me. If my daughter brough him home with her I think I would be forced to lock her in a closet till she turns 30!

ARE YOU SERIOUS!?!

AUTHOR: Julie - (U.S.A.)

Well, I'm glad that everybody has had the chance to say what they want about me but let the truth be known now. I did not mean to click that I was an exemployee before. I, infact am not, that was an honest mistake. I am though, Brad's ex-girlfriend. I knew about this story before Brad lost his job, and I know the details of what happened, and it is not how everybody thinks. There are TWO sides to everything, and doesn't anybody honestly think that somebody could get on here and lie, because that is what is happening here. Brad did not injure you. He grabbed that camera from you because its something people like to call private property, and you are not allowed to take pictures. And I don't know where you get your information, but like I said Brad is my ex so I don't have to sit here and defend him but I was with him for years and know nothing of this "vindictive side" that you are talking about. YOU need to get your information strainght. So don't worry, nothing is going to happen to your family, that's just another example of your over exaggerating. If your worried about your family so damn bad why don't you go on with your life instead of being one of those crazy ass people who take somebody to court for no reason just to be a DRAMA QUEEN and get some money out of it. You are probably an embarrassment to your kids, because you are acting like one. If anybody should be afraid for their life it should be Brad and Scott because of your "guys you know that are much bigger than they are..." But they aren't scared because they are the ones that are acting like adults in the situation and not making into more than it is. Nobody is saying anything to you about making up lies and getting two boys to lose their jobs that they have had for 5 years! Get over yourself and stop trying to make a big deal out of nothing. And again I just can't get over this "emotionally raped" that's a joke. Everybody that is on your side needs to take a second to realize that the don't really know all the details. Can two guys, in their early 20's, working at a damn truck wash, with CAMERAS everywhere really do everything that you said. I don't think so. Grow up lady

You've got a bad memory, although part of this you told in your lie to police, so I'd stick to it to.

AUTHOR: Chase - (U.S.A.)

Brad, I do remember, you shouting at me, this customer, that I was a liar about Des Moines sending me there, and my story about a bad wash job. I clearly remember you saying and I'll quote, that you "Can make up stories to." So I expected this. I'm sure the video heard you too.

NO LIES ON THIS SIDE. Never said I spoke to home office, said I spoke to the Des Moines wash bay office, who told me to go to the next Blue Beacon, when I asked where, they told me Kansas City. Please see above original report, - it clearly says- "was advised to go to next facility, for incident report, verification and PICS." Never said I know guys bigger than both of you, or threatened to kill anyone. I said "You should be bigger than that" (the way you were acting). Your video tape should have that all.

Where did I say- hand was a serious injury? Doctor said ligaments, you can have pain and throbbing without breaking bones. I went to doc to make sure it was not serious and get help because it hurt, whether you want to admit it or not. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has been told by a doctor, that they need to take 3-7 days off to allow some muscle or other to mend.

Where did I ever say that I wanted something for nothing, Or a million dollars (William - in Salina), or a movie?

IT WOULD BE NICE IF YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS PLEASE STOP ASSUMING, PLAYING OR TWISTING MY WORDS. MOST OF THIS IS IN BLACK AND WHITE-ABOVE, OR ON VIDEO TAPE. ALSO, IT IS YOUR ATTITUDE LIKE YOUR WORDS "LOW LIFE TRUCK DRIVER" THAT STARTED THIS.

BRAD, My beef is no longer with you, unless it was an apology. My problem, is with Blue Beacon. Making sure this never happens again to someone else, Policies, reimbursement of expenses, and such. They had knowledge of how you were, Please see Manger comments.

MOST PEOPLE THAT COMMIT A CRIME, AND ARE BUSTED, I'M SURE WOULD LIKE THE VICTIM TO "GIVE IT A REST." YOU ABUSED A FAT FEMALE CUSTOMER, BUT, YOU DON'T LIKE THE REBUTTAL. WHAT YOU DID WAS WRONG AND A VICTIM IS A VICTIM. BUT, BECAUSE OF MY TAKING THE TIME TO ANNOUNCE YOUR ACTIONS, I BET, I SAVE SOMEONE ELSE, MAYBE EVEN A FUTURE GIRLFRIEND, FROM YOUR ABUSE.

PS, oh, I did give it a rest, till "Julie" and you tried to excuse abuse.

You might try hiring a Private Detective next time to help you seal your case without hiring an attorney, Recently I handled a case very similiar to yours, I had the lady wear a covert microhone and video camera and she was able to record the abuse she received from the business,

With that said, the lady received an out of court settlement of six figures.

Truck wash blues

AUTHOR: Rob - (U.S.A.)

Regardless of the facts in this encounter, Blue Beacon comes off looking pretty bad. This attitude and lack of customer service and quality is very similar to what got the Detroit automakers in big trouble 20 years ago. Japan gave the Big Three a big wake-up call. It won't be long before Blue Beacon is a dinasour if they don't mend their ways.

As for the victim... stop delaying your course of action and contact an attorney. It's probably safe to assume that Blue Beacon is getting their "ducks in a row" while you continue to dilly-dally.

Best of luck

Ms. Concerned you lied about how long you had to wait for us to get out to your truck (about 2-3 minutes tops). You lied and said you had spoke to the home office before you were there which was closed at the time. Your lying about your wrist which I didn't even touch and which you said you didn't have time (3 to 7 days)to take off for it to heal. What kind of serious wrist injury heals that fast anyways. You also forgot to mention when you threatend to KILL both of us "I know guys bigger than both of you"is what I remember you saying. I'm no longer working there what more do you want? Why don't you quit making your self look like a victim and look like the out of control, psycho, lying, only trying to get something out of nothing, low life truck driver you are. Who's Exaggerating?

AUTHOR: Chase - (U.S.A.)

To William in Salina- Are you related to Brad? Possibly the person he lied and stated he was that night? I do not think so, but, In any case, Thank you for your comments. Although I am not, and have never mentioned wanting a movie or a million dollars. In this respect, you must admit you are the exaggerator. Please do not be a hypocrite. Yes, you to have brought a side of humor to me also.

As you are obviously (I would think by your name and comments) male, I would not expect you to be able to completely put yourself into a females "shoes," shall we say, in order to completely comprehend her emotions, in a situation such as this. Especially an overweight female, whom has just had her first helping of direct discrimination.

Also, I do not remember ever stating, that I was scared. Please by all means correct me if I am wrong. However, If you are going to "judge" or ridicule a person, publicly, for their feelings, then please, it is important to have the facts straight.

Yes, I was very upset, shocked to an extent, even angry. There were many emotions all at once, including frustration, humiliation, feeling violated (especially when they said certain things and also when they had the camera, giving them availability to see private photos, taken for my program of weight loss).

Yes, you are right, I stated that I wanted to curl up in a ball. How many women and children, do you know, while being orally assaulted by words, cruelly put, about ones self, especially about ones own imperfections (that they themselves regret) would not want to shy away in some respect. Men tend to handle things differently. No doubt had it been you, and you were being laughed at, called names, and such, you would have been stronger, more assertive, possibly knocking one of them out for it.

I however, being a tiered driver, took my aggression out differently, over the phone to the corporate center. But, when I was alone, I cried, call it self pity, but, yes, I felt emotionally raped. By strangers that could not even fathom, the depth that their words had on me. William, there is more to it. It was not just a your "FAT" if it was, I could have handled it more maturely. It was the personalized words they said with it, the way they said what they did, and the lies they told the authorities.

REALLY NO SENSE ARGUING ABOUT THIS. BOTTOM LINE, NO ONE, NOT YOUR MOTHER, YOUR SISTER, YOUR FRIEND, SHOULD HAVE TO GO INTO A PUBLIC BUSINESS AND HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS AS A CUSTOMER. WHAT, BECAUSE THEY FEEL I BLEW MY HORN TO LONG OR LOUD? OR BECAUSE I LOOK DIFFERENT? THERE IS SIMPLY NO JUSTIFICATION. NO MATTER HOW ANYONE ATTEMPTS TO CHANGE OR IMPLY ON MY WORDS.

AUTHOR: William - (U.S.A.)

Miss, who will be playing you in the made-for-t.v.-movie? This is the most hilarious and ridiculous story I have ever heard. Unless my eyes deceive me, you worte that you were "emotionally raped." Are you kidding me? A boy called you fat and you want a million dollars for it. I don't know what people are buying this story, but I am still laughing from reading it as I write this. If a driver came into my work and I asked him/her to leave, I think I would throw up a couple fingers for a picture as well. As for your hand, you stated that you were a woman being verbally abused by two men that made you feel like curling up into a ball. I honestly don't think that he would have to wrestle anything out of your hand if you were so scared. This whole story seems blown out of porportion. I would love to hear the boys side of the story. I can't judge a person until I could at least hear both sides. This side of the story is with out a doubt a hoot though.

What happend is what happend. What is wrong is wrong. Like the police officer said, Pictures don't lie. Like one of your bosses said, Vidioe of you in the rain with my camara, and me wanting it back, does not lie. Did you know that my camera also takes 30 second videos? With sound?

I already addmitted I was hot over spending all that money on a bad wash elsewhere. But, Did you forget, you never even saw me or heard my story before you started thrusting you middle fingers in the air, over a driver in the wrong bay. Who had blown the horn to get you to come out to do your job.

You did not know I was upset already, when you started your obcenities towards my weight and gender. There is never an excuse to treat a customer that way. Even if you had known.

As a employee, after your brother, told you to go back in the office, and you did not, you had no right to come at me from 15- 20 feet away. Shouting those things you said. Putting bruises on my wrist/hand joint area in getting the camera away. I was no physical threat to you. You never even asked for the camera. Please see picture taken by nurse in hospital. Doctors do not write perscriptions and tell you you should be in a splint for giggles.

I am a single hard working mother, who cannot afford the hospital bills, and time off work, caused by your lack of self control. No matter what a customer verbally says on the phone to your employer and/or thier voicemail.

Don't let them bring you down sweetie!!

AUTHOR: Angela - (U.S.A.)

Concerned,

Being someone who has dealt with weight issues most of my life, I can totally understand. I am also comforatable with my body, but it only takes one incident to put someone back down. Well, it is easier said than done, but you cant step backwards. Don't let them get the best of you! Post your complaints & hire an attorney. Your beauty is not defined by the outline of your body. Beauty is defined by your actions, your attitude, your disposition, BEAUTY IS DEFINED BY YOUR SOUL, who you really are. Obviously noone at the Mo truck wash has a soul.

As for Julie, who thinks it is all a self esteem issue, wake up honey. NOBODY deserves to be put in a situation like what is described. Concerned has every right to hire an attorney. She has every right to make people aware of her situation. That is why this website is here. For people to be able to speak out & warn others. She deserves more than $200 & a free truck wash!! If you can, or if you can imagine, put yourself in her shoes. You should be able to understand unless you are so shallow of a person & have blinders on your eyes. None of the words I type can help you though, Julie.

Concerned, find an attorney.

The Blue Beacon Truck Wash office, located in Kansas, has sent two envelopes to me. One contains a check for $200.00. This is in compensation for the cut and polish job that was ruined, by the Des Moines Blue Beacon. I have not cashed this, and at this time, have no plans to.

The other envelope contained a free tractor and trailer wash. This I see as replacement for the bad wash to the rest of my tractor that same wash. This has been seen as a joke, as I do not even own my own trailer. It will never be used, as I have no desire to deal with their antics or mistreatment again. No, no chance.

It will never be used, as I have no desire to continue acid washing the already fading paint on my Semi either.. I did not realize the dramatic effect the contents of the acid water they use has on a clear coat and paint job. They use the acid to increase the clean effect on the truck body. According to one professional body shop, this was why my hood began pre maturely turning white, on my 2000 Freightliner.

Obviously, Mr. Greg Thomas and his associates have no problem in making sure that The Des Moines incident is well accounted for and made right.

However, I have also received several other envelopes. These contain, together, so far, almost $1,000.00 in medical bills, incurred the next day, after the Kansas City episode. My hand and wrist are still not right. Reminders shoot through my hand often, when grabbing for the gear shift .

The Kansas City, Blue Beacon Manager, Paul, informed me, the next business day after I was there, that the boys were well known for their sarcasm and attitude. Having this knowledge, why would they continue to employ them, leaving them alone, and without supervision? Then when it is time to be account able for the brothers actions, they turn their back on the customer that keeps them in business?

Recently, I was even told that Brad had quit under the questioning, and was not fired as I was originally informed. We may never know the truth to this.

In any case, Thank you all for you comments again, If any one wants to suggest the best attorney in the area, please do so.

Blue Beacon Truck Wash, Kansas City, Brad Hewlett (not sure of proper spelling), Scott Hewlett, Greg Thomas, Abused Customer, - No excuses, or justification for their actions. Over weight, abuse, to the president of Blue Beacon.

AUTHOR: Concerned customer that ssen it all - (U.S.A.)

To a certain extent Julie who ever you really are, is both right and wrong on the self- esteem. Everyone no matter who we are, has challenges in life to meet. It may be smoking, drinking, drugs, for everyone it may be different. I wear my weight on the outside for all to see. It is not as accepted in our society of today. However, it is not the place of any business, and/or their staff, to assert themselves as unsolicited Judges, or persecutors of the weaker, the different, or a paying customer (for other services).

If and when an employee of unqualified training in this area, attacks another's weight, gender, or personal defect, there are no words of excuse or defense.

OF COURSE, any receiver of this type of abuse is going to feel violated, insecure in their person, and/or possibly ashamed of their publicly ridiculed problem. How many females with a weight issue, do you, Julie know that would not question themselves their bodies, how people look at them, creating a new cycle of low esteem, after something as traumatic as this?

Personally, I had achieved a point of self- acceptance. I felt good about the direction my life was going, etcetera. The doctors had diagnosed me with an actual reason and cause for my weight. I was beginning to loose it. I am on several prescribed medications for a real problem. I am not this way because of an addiction or eating for 5. It took a long time and a great amount of personal work to get to this point.

Yet, one cruel, cold hearted, assuming, undisciplined, unkind, angry, sarcastic, boy, felt he knew better. No one should have the power over another, to be able to effect, like he did me. However, I feel I am back to square one.

Whether it's right or wrong, always worrying about how people perceive my outside, withdrawing into back corners, in public. Hiding behind the CB Microphone. And my pad and pen. Avoiding places, where the beautiful people are, and yes, feeling like my self -esteem is shot, full of holes, all over again. Thanks Blue Beacon, for knowingly employing the sarcastic creep, jerk, whatever low life name comes to mind.

Anyone having any Knowledge and /or history of past problems or issues, legal or other with either of the boys and/or Blue Beacon, Please contact me via ripoffreport.com: [DELETED]

In this day and age, it is inexcusable for any employee of any business to treat someone like you have been treated. I guarantee that the only reason you were treated poorly was because of your gender - I've never been mistreated by any truck stop grease monkey, I guess because I am a pretty big guy.

Remember the source of the problem: a truck wash employee. A pretty bleak future awaits him. Plus, he's more than likely not the sharpest tool in the shed. So he took the misery of his pathetic life out on you. Take them to court is my advice. Nothing says you're serious like a court summons.

Julie psychology is a tricky business

AUTHOR: Darren - (U.S.A.)

Julie,

It is possible that you may be right. However, it is interesting how things can look completely different from another person's view.

It could be just as likely that her "self-esteem" is just fine and therefore she doesn't feel that anyone has the "right" to treat her (or others) like they did.

You see, if it really were a self-esteem issue then she would most likely shrink away and fear letting anyone know about what happened because deep down she would feel that she deserved it.

A bully (or abuser) depends on this attitude. If they get called on it then the turn it around by saying that they were "just joking" or "you can't take a joke" or whatever eles they can do to make the person think that it is their fault.

Condoning the abuse of someone is to be complicit in the abuse.

Thanks,

A bully (or abuser) depends on this attitude. If they get called on it then the turn it around by saying that they were "just joking" or "you can't take a joke" or whatever eles they can do to make the person think that it is their fault.

Condoning the abuse of someone is to be complicit in the abuse.

Julie psychology is a tricky business

Julie,

It is possible that you may be right. However, it is interesting how things can look completely different from another person's view.

Get over it

AUTHOR: Julie - (U.S.A.)

I think that after reading this that your self esteem is just very low and getting called those names is making you think that it is a bigger deal than it is. I think that if you really think its that big of a deal and you want to get compensated for your injury you should not be immature by posting this information. Nor do i think that putting up flyers is going to do anything but make you look rediculous.

A Truck Driver

AUTHOR: Jason - (U.S.A.)

To Blue Beacon Employees,

I am shocked at this attitude, "wash it yourself" what happened to customer service and pride in your work. well it doesnt suprise me with the way people are today but apart from that, The atttudes of these Blue Beacon Employees are totally unnaceptable from a company, but then again on the customers part if you get bad service then dont go back to doing business with that company, as long as a company has no motivation $$$$ t change they will not because they are making money and have no reason to

I go to Blue Beacon because my company pays for the washes, i am picky especially with trailer washouts because i haul food and you would want a clean trailer hauling you food.

They dont have the Nickname "Streakin Beacon" for nothing

#113 Consumer Suggestion

Well it seems like what you say is what i feel when trucks want to be washed.

AUTHOR: J - (U.S.A.)

Well when i wash trucks it can be annoying when all they do is keep coming around but.. i mostly blame that on Blue Beacon it self for the scheduling and the understaffing they give us at the location that i work at. And from what it seems these guys did in this story is something I would like to do with the drivers that are so picky if they don't like the way we wash they should wash it themselves.

But there is another part to that certain phrase an 80 dollar wash for a tractor and trailor i would expect them to do a very good job.. but just to be picky so you can get something for free that's when you need to wash it yourself. But in your situation I speak on my behalf what they did would be something that should get someone in trouble if the manager was actually doing his job and not being buddy buddy with all the employees I think they would be alot better location to visit.

At our certain location there is nothing of the such we are getting nagged at "getting down on our wheels" and don't cheat to have an efficient wash well "cheating is the only way to get trucks clean" in my own words. But if I was you I would except the money or ask for more take them all they will give you if your polish job wasn't that good get them to polish they keep polish on all locations cause I myself have burned a few tanks in my months of working there and that stuff really works. Hope this is helpful for you. I didn't not put my real name to protect myself.

What should I do about Blue Beacon? ..offered $200

AUTHOR: Concerned customer that ssen it all - (U.S.A.)

Update

Well, Blue Beacon Truck wash has offered $200. for me to redo the truck aluminum, that was damaged by the acid, along with another tractor and trailer wash. They admit to the one employees wrongfully making, obscene comments and jesters. They admitted almost all. However, since none of the cameras were in directed sight and do not show the incident concerning the wrestling with the digital camera, they do not want to pay for the medical bill. They do see the employee with camera out in the rain and pushing random buttons on it. But, not the physical harm. How convenient, is all I could think.

Although my goals were to have certain policy possibly changed, so this, does not happen to others and to receive compensation for my expenses, and such. It was never to have anyone fired. However, they have dismissed "Bill" whom I later found out was really Brad. So, there has definitely been certain admittance on the part of Blue Beacon, as to wrongful behavior at the Kansas City facility.

It feels as though they want to take care of the Des Moines incident, but, ignore the Kansas City part, at least where I am involved, in it. After sitting on the side of the road in tears, after the whole affair, I personally feel the Kansas City part is more important.

They have also stated that while the employees story was mostly the same as mine, there were inaccuracies. They concerned, when I was told cameras were not allowed, when I was asked to pull forward (I was told each after the camera was taken) , whether or not Brad touched my person (getting the camera), and certain threats that were made or not made. I replied to this, that, of course they would stick with what they told the police. Whether it was true at the time or not.

Also, while I was extremely upset by the Des Moines wash bay already, and had made numorous calls to complain, (7 all together including while the Kansas City eposode was happening, so they could hear employee for themselves), I never crossed the line with my threats. I said that I did not want to return and put myself into those positions, because I was so emotionally upset by there actions. There fore I would be at least acting responsible.

So, there you have the long and short of it all.

Not sure if I should continue it or leave it be. Could use some advice or an opinion or two. Thinking I should still maybe work with an attorney. What do you think?
