Does not honor warranty. Nightmare company to deal with. Had to fight for the free patio furniture that was promised with purchase of pool, had to have chlorinator replaced after 1 season, bad plaster and Blue Haven does not want to be bothered.

Can not spend a lot of time in our pool this season due to the plaster being so rough it cuts the bottom of your feet. Took almost 2 months to FINALLY get someone from Blue Haven to show up. Called the owner 3x a day for a week straight and never received a return courtesy phone call and this was an "emergency" according to there CS when I first called in.

When someone finally showed up to inspect the plaster, it was the original idiot who plastered it to begin with. He was the so called expert. He looked at the pool, proceeded to tell me how bad the pool was and that it was in "bad, bad shape". Then proceeds to inform me that it was my fault and due to a chemical imbalance in the pool water. This was all without even taking a water sample.

A week prior to this, the pool company contracted by Blue Haven had to come out to replace the chlorinator. At that time they tested the water and everything was perfect.

Needless to say, about a week later we receive a letter from Blue Haven stating that the plaster is NOT covered under warranty. Surprise, surprise. I know of several other people in the area that have had the same plaster problem with Blue Haven. I want to get a class action lawsuit against them. I am willing to do all the work, just need your complaints and information to put together with mine.

I lost a law suit with this company, I dont know if I could be involved with this but I would love to see these scumbags go down. they spend their lives suing people, they have more lawyers then customers. they are a VERY litigious company! just in montgomery county alone they have 3 pages of lawsuits going. (last time I checked) that raises big red flags!
they call themselves the east coast pool mafia but they're a bunch of freaking buffoons! they are small time mob "wanna be's". they are a joke and an embarrassment to their heritage.

Information & Steps to Self-Help

Sorry to hear about your typical BH problems! There are some things you can do until you gather enough interest from an attorney to do a class action suit. All that is needed is one Plaintiff and a pattern of abuses; which are self-evident if judgments throughout the company are reviewed.

1) File on-line complaint with the FTC (Federal Trade Commission)& check court records (public records) to see types of judgments against this company. You will see a pattern that matches yours.

2) Find Consumer Legal Remedy Act and Song Beverly Act letters. Highlight, copy and paste into word document to fill in your specifics. Send certified return receipt with Cc: to FTC and your State Attorney General.

3) Before doing anything, do a Secretary of State check on the company's owners, officers and member directors and addresses listed. Check with your State Comtroller on tax status. Compare this info with any DBAs listed within your city and county operating as Blue Haven Pools.

4) Do a complaint check with the BBB (in your city & state and throughout country)& check the state contractor's board in PA for licenses and problems. KEEP IN MIND THE BBB IS A PRIVATE ENTERRPRISE SPONSORED BY THE BUSINESSES. It's just a small part of the checking process and not the most reliable!

5) Start a web site to gather input for your class action to see if you have enough interest. You need to provide a way for people to contact you without allowing the company access to threaten them and you with legal action. I am sure "ripoff" can guide you on avoiding intimidation.

6) Do not be fooled into believing without a lot of checking that this office is a franchise. The corporate office for this company is 636 Broadway, Suite 310 in San Diego, CA 92101. If you find names such as T. Tuttle, Ronald Zaberer, Chris Waters, Dave Goldstein or Robert Quintal, you've hit home and know it is a company-owned office. Its alleged franchise name is under Golden State Industries, Inc.-NV or CA. Many of the jurisdictions of the office you dealt with may include Delaware and TX, as well. Owners will be listed as Member Directors and employees in CA will be the officers in the majority of cases.

7) Post what you find ---only factual information with sources or links to your research. You cannot be touched for telling the truth with proof. Posting what you find is very important. There's nothing wrong with asking others for help, as well.

If you take the above steps, you will be quite surprised!
