Let me preface this complaint by stating that I went in looking for a motivated trainer who could 'push me' into achieving my goals. The management was aware that as a police officer, my time was extremely limited and a set schedule was necessary and required on my part prior to signing any contract with them. The manager and assistant manager assured me that everything I requested would be given/taken care of.

Everything was ok until my trainer began missing his appointments. After a few days of showing up to only be turned away, it came to my attention (by another trainer) that my personal trainer had decided to leave in order to persue his dreams of becoming a STRIPPER! I was told that i would be given a replacement trainer soon. THe following week I was told that the trainer would be returning and that I should wait. I did.

When he returned he continued training me without a problem, until 2 weeks later. I was told by yet another trainer that he decided to strip again and that he would only be available to train during the day (which conflicts with my work schedule).

I spoke to the manager, who acted like a high school football coach with his 'grow up and take it like a man' attitude. After not budging he decided to give me another trainer who would "definitely give me what I wanted".

I was given a personal trainer who did not speak english and had a difficult time utilizing the machines.

I contacted the corporate office and told them of my problems (yes the aforementioned was just the tip of the iceberg). I was told to send in a letter. In October of 2003 I did.

I also left several messages on voicemail with no calls returned. Come December of 2003 I again sent another letter and made it a point to call 4-5 times a day for 2 weeks. I finally made contact only to be informed that my original letter could not be found. I was assured that It was probably their fault due to several 'files being misplaced by an ex-employee!'

I was told that they would immediately stop charging my credit card and would also be issuing a credit for the months in between.

Here we are in March 2004 and my card is still being charged $200. a month!!! I cannot get a hold of anyone in the office (which I can imagine is only a small hole in the wall with 3 employees who work on a part time basis and reap the benefits without any accountabillity).

My next move is to start a personal campaign which will include notifications/ads placed in all local law enforcement magazines/union papers for employees to steer clear of this company. I also will be meeting with a local news station who plans on making a fraud alert/bad business segment on this company. Last, and definitely not least...through a personal contact with a national network, my story is currently being considered for a report by nighttime investigative show (60 mins).

I surely hope that Body of CHange thinks that the poor advertising that they will be recieving soon is worth the $200.00 a month that they are taking from me. I will keep everyone updated and hope that you share this info with colleagues and loved ones....STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!

File a claim with your State Attorney General's Office!!!

AUTHOR: Jennifer - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 13, 2004

Hopefully by now you have successfully resolved your dispute with Body of Change, but if not, I highly recommend contacting your state's Attorney General's office (and possibly the state in which they are headquartered too - Arizona, I think). I did so (in California) and they immediately sent BOC a letter on my behalf; BOC then immediately let me out of my contract. Even if you have resolved the dispute, I would go ahead and file a claim with the attorney general just to start/continue a paper trail on their horrible business practices.

Best of luck!
