On November 7 of this year, My daughter and I visited the facility at Delco Plaza.  We had the misfortune of working with Nate.  I didn't have my wallet with me, but Nate wrote up a contract for me and agreed to let me call in later with payment info.  He told me he couldn't give me a copy of the contract because no payment information was provided, that I would get a copy afterward.  I was provided a copy of a physical training contract. Per that contract, I had 3 BUSINESS days to cancel my membership in writing.  On the second business day, I delivered my cancellation letter.  Nate left a voicemail the next day to let me know my cancellation wouldn't be honored because I didn't follow the rules required to cancel.  I called back and explained to Nate that when a contract is written, ALL PARTIES must be provided a copy at the time of ratification.  I told him I'd consider a membership later on, but at this time, I was leaving my cancellation in place.  He said OK and I thought that was the end of it.

Fast forward to this past Monday.  Body Renew Fitness deducted the monthly membership fee from my account.  I went to the other location in Winchester and spoke with a Manager there.  He told me that Nate didn't know what he was talking about and that my membership should have been canceled at the time I requested it.  He told me to call the Delco Plaza location and speak with Andrew.  I called them and had to leave a voicemail.  In my message, I indicated that I wanted to speak with Andrew.  The next day, Nate called me.  I called back and asked for Andrew, but he was tied up.  Didn't leave a message.  Tried again today, Andrew was in a meeting. The message I left was "just tell him my name.  He knows what I'm calling about".  Two hours later, NATE calls me again...and has the nerve to be an a*****e on the phone!  I have every right to be pissed off and he's got the nerve to act like he's doing me a favor by even speaking to me!

I told him I didn't want to speak with him, I wanted to speak with Andrew. He said I didn't need  to speak with Andrew because the problem was already handled.  I asked him how and told him he's trying to force me into a membership that was canceled.  He said I didn't cancel in time, he never got the letter until 6 days after I visited the facility.  I said that's a lie: you called me and left a voicemail about the day after I left it.  He interrupted me and asked if I was going to give him a chance to speak because I wasn't letting him get a word in edgewise.  I said Nate, you never gave me a copy of my contract.  He had the audacity to say 'you never asked for it'.  I said to him that it's illegal to do what he did and he then starts quoting from the contract that I STILL don't have a copy of.  I told him cool.  I already notified my bank that the charge is unauthorized.  Contrary to what Nate believes, as long as I'm within the cancellation period (3 BUSINESS days), I can UNILATERALLY cancel the contract. I changed my card number as well.

I followed up with Kelly Callahan at the other location and she was EXTREMELY professional.  She apologized for Nate's behavior and told me there is NOTHING in the system showing that I'm under contract.  She agreed to reach out to corporate on my behalf and process the cancellation.

The reason I absolutely HATE gyms is because this is not the first time I've had an experience like I did with Nate.

 I am also a member of this facility. I have had several problems also since i have joined a few months ago. I was also signed up by Nate. When we joined, we were never told about our sessions with the trainers were were to receive. One day we were there, trying to figure out how to use the equiptment, and a trainer saw us struggling and offered to help, and asked if we ever had out inital training session, we explained we knew nothing about this. Apparently we were to be offered a free session, or a inital package with a trainer at a discount, we never were offered that. But my main issue is with the key tags you use to access the facility. I have had problems with mine since I joined several months ago. First mine did not work to open the doors, i was told to wait 24 hours frm when i first joined to give time to set up. I waited several days, still did not work. I finally got them to fix my tag issue with the doors, but my tag has never worked for the tanning beds. I have asked them several times about this. Im told a different story every time. I was first told that they system was down, that they have to swipe me in. I was then told computers were down, and told that i need to have them check my tag,  then i was told, during staff hours they disable the doors and it sometimes effects the tanning bed system, so i always have to have someone swipe me in during staff hours, but yet i see other members going in and using their key tags with no problem. I even had another member see me having problems and she swiped me in. I asked my coworkers who all are also members of this facility if they are able to use their tags to tan during staff hours and they said yes. This is very frustrating because mine does not work during staff hours or after staff hours. Also when you get in the beds, you get undressed to find it doesnt work, you have to get redressed with tanning lotion on you, and go find someone to swipe you in, then in the mean time another member takes your bed while your trying to find someone. So i never get to use the tanning, whick is a big reason i chose this gym.  Another member heard me complainig to the staff about my issue, and told me she had problem too, that it took them months to get hers fixed, she finally had to demand new tags. On top of this, some of my family members just joined and first thing they told me was they could not get in, their tags didnt work for the doors. Im upset as i joined this gym due to the benefit of the tanning beds, I could have joined another gym that is less crowded. as i have to wait until very late in the evening to come in, when there is less people , as most of the time you can not get on the equiptment due to overcrowding. And i get up very early for work, so it makes it very hard. And i have given up on using the pool, its never available to use. Im very frustrated, as i feel im paying for a membership and can not even use all the benefits im supposed to get with my membership, and no one there is willing to help as many times as ive asked. Also in the coment above in ref to helping the other consumer with her issue, in your comment, " We don't cheat people at Body Renew Fitness and I will remedy this immediately if you are willing to post that I did so on this report." that really made me feel that you will not fix her issue, unless she post something good about the situation. Made me have second thought about the consumers and customers here, not being treated very well.

My name is Jeremy Wright and I am the owner of Body Renew Fitness. If you just billed for the first time ever for a contract you purchased in November (cancelled 2 days later) on March 1, 2014 then this is an error and we owe you a refunds please contact me on my cell phone (540)336-3922 so I can get this remedied immediately. I believe we may have spoke about this and I took care of this. What probably happened was when we converted from AAC our billing company last year to ABC Financial our new billing company it must have reactivated your account in error. We don't cheat people at Body Renew Fitness and I will remedy this immediately if you are willing to post that I did so on this report.
