Book Holders Refuses to pay for labor Morgantown West Virginia

I did a job for this company handing out flyers to different classrooms advertising books for the specific class.  I handed out the flyers and asked, numerous times throughout the week, when would I be payed. Never got a straight answer other than, I don't know I think in a week or two. 

I gave it a week, called them up and they told me they had my 70$ at the store in cash and that I could come pick it up. I go to the store only to be told the manager won't allow me to be payed the money that I earned handing out flyers because I "missed the deadline". Umm what? The missed deadline for you to place cash in my hand for the work I did for you? The company clearly had record that they owed me 70$ since they could pull up my name and see the exact amout that was due. to me. 

I kind of would expect a company of this size to be able to handle paying employees in an ethical fashion or really just paying employees at all. 

This company is known for scamming students for their books at the end of each semester and espesially after this I would not step another foot in there.
