In June of 2012 bookmooch had a 3-day hiatus/melt down[one of the last notes I got from bm] in operations. Afterwards I could not access my account, including my painstakingly posted 100s of books for mooching. I,as suggested by bm robot, emailed "technical support",but getting no response I did,as "tech support" suggested, emailed "tech support" again, & at 2-3 day intervals again & again until I got an email from a rude, bad robot,"Sarah Smith",that could not pass a Turing Test & is obviously a phony name from "Terminator" movie's Sarah Connor, plus "The Matrix"--Mr. Smith. "S.P." basically said to bug off, that I was under investigation & my account suspended. After that I was "even more"cut off, still am. P.S.The BBB rates bm at zero last time I looked

Still unterminated member-friends,with books posted at Bookmooch emailed me & then tried to help by emailing bookmooch, but also got no replies. I still, even in 2013,get bookmooch computer notices of wishlist books from other members becoming available, but, while I can still see my wishlist[100 books] I cannot see my bookshelf [I'm told it's gone],nor access my account, just the usual useless robot note from "tech support" that they will get back to me,etc--Never happens. Seems no way to get past their big bad robot "Sarah Smith" who won't talk to me now either after having done "her" piece of work". And there no way to reach HQ,if there is any. Not a very cheery application of the internet. So,I you want to risk losing many hours listing books, maybe with many "condition" notes, BEWARE,there is no real tech support,no human there, only a rude, bad robot and a flawed attempt at a great idea:An international book swap---I sent dozens of books abroad before I was terminated by this matrix. I bet foreigner get the matrix-terminator treatment too,but how can they complain, who hears their voices? Actually, bookmooch,in its current state of morbidity, may do as much or more harm as it does benevolence for good-will abroad.

Sorry for your hard time

AUTHOR: Southernbelle - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, March 26, 2014

I have been a member of Bookmooch for over 6 years. In that time I have cancelled, rejected requests and lost some books in the mail. But in all this time, i have had only 1 book  I was not satisfied with and I have received more than 200 books. I'm sorry you had a bad experience, but please try again. When you deal with computers there are always some problems at some time, But give us another chance.

Im in the same boat

AUTHOR: bookjunkie01 - ()

POSTED: Saturday, October 19, 2013

i posted many books to this site and maield out a few of my acccepted books; i nomally mail out every friday; i am currently expecting and was told i had to be on bed rest so instead of having people wait ages for there books i just decided to rejected books with a note saying that i was sorry but at the time i was unable to get t post due to medical issues and the next day i went to log on to respond to a message and i was told my accout was closed; no explianation no nothing. i finally got through to "someone" in the support department and they told me that because i rejected books i was under investiagation and any books i personally receieved with credits i though i earned from adding my personal books i needed to return and that really confused me because how was i suppost to return books when i didnt have there origional packages?? i then went on to explain that it was a big misunderstandig and that if they would have let me know before closing my account i would have been able to work someting out i would have even asked the requestors if they minded waiting a bit longer to recieve there books, but no i recieved the worst cusomter service and my accoutn was clsoed and i was supposidly put under investigation with no warings and if i wouldnt have taken the initive to contact them prob still wouldnt know why.
