Weeks ago, we ordered a pizza stone - website says, it may take UP TO 2 weeks to receive the item. We finally email to ask "Where is it? Did you lose it? If so, you need to make a full refund."

This owner, named Eric sends us a snotty email and tells me to "grow up"

Talk about poor customer service.

Obviously, they don't make or carry the products and have them shipped in from China although everything on their website suggests they produce and ship from good old Iowa.

We should have read his website more carefully, because he claims most products are from from Wisconsin. If so, why does it take several months to ship something out?

Breadtopia - a good experience

I recently ordered several products from Breadtopia  and I could not be more pleased with my purchase and the prompt shipment.    I received my order acknowledgement immediately and my products quickly and in good order.    I was taking a lazy approach to get the website again and did a yahoo search to get the link.  I was intrigued that the ripoffreport site came up and went to this site.

I do not want to speak to the issues of that unhappy customer, but I can acknowledge that I am in harmony with the other happy customers who rebutted.

Disagree with complaint

I have been dealing with Eric at Breadtopia now for about 3 years, buying everything from a sourdough starter to a Bosch Universal Plus mixer.  I have had no bad experiences with him at all.  Every product I bought has been exactly as advertised, delivered quickly, well packages.  In addition his website has been invaluable in my progress in making better and better bread.  In short he has been a gentleman in all dealings and I could not speak more highly of him than that.

Excellent Customer Service

I have been a customer of Breadtopia for at least three years and have never encountered any problems what-so-ever.  Eric bends over backwards to please his customers.  All of my

shipments have arrived promptly.  Once a clay baker was broken and Eric replaced it promptly.  Best customer service on the NET.

Breadtopia is fantastic

I have done business with Breadtopia many times over the past 2-years. In addition toALL of my orders been processed and shipped on-time,the owner, Eric, has been very helpful in providing breadbaking advice and has alwasy been professional and friendly.

I have suggested Breadtopia to many of my friends and family as a great source for bread baking supplies, and all of them have been delighted with the service and support they receive from Eric.

Regarding the original complaint, it is without merit and anyone doing business with Breadtopia will no doubt be as happy as I am. In fact, I'm just about to order a couple more clay bakers and I'm confident that they will arrive on schedule as promised -- just like the past 4-5 orders.

I have purchased oblong bakers, oval bakers, mini loaf pans, kevlar gloves, whisks, proofing baskets, and liners.

I have done business with Breadtopia and have found Eric to be very professional, prompt in mailing out my orders and very thorough in meeting the satifaction of his customers. I have order several products with out any difficulty in placing orders, contacting Eric with questions or recieving them promptly. Wherever Eric gets his products-it has not cause a delay whatsoever to be mailed to me. I cannot agree in any manner with this complaint against Breadopia and or Eric. I will continue to do business with Breadtopia as I find it to be a very professional company to do business that has quality  merchandise and great customer service. Thanks Breadtopia and also to you Eric.

Someone has their knickers knotted in their Sourdough!

I feel that this person must have gotten their knickers knotted up in their sourdough someway regarding their consumer experience with Breadtopia. I have ordered from Eric at Breadtopia for over two years now; including two of the 18" x 22" x 1"  oven stones and a multitude of other bread-making supplies.  This report clearly does not in anyway depict the Company that I have been dealing with this past two years. Just  prior to receiving the last order that I had placed with Breadtopia, I received an email from Eric informing me that when I had placed my order I was being overcharged on shipping and postage; I can assure you I would not have  known the difference had it shipped otherwise.  Nonetheless, Eric emailed me to let me know that he caught the the order in advance and shipped my goods at a far cheaper shipping rate to me.  For that reason alone I would continue to order from this company, even if they were not the best priced supplier around; which, BTW, they clearly are!

Very Unexpected News

I've ordered from Breadtopia and had no problems at all.  I've been participating in the posts at that site for over 2 years, and I've never seen anyone else complain.  Eric has always seemed very courteous and responsive.  If you're reading these posts and have doubts, you might want to browse the Breadtopia site and try to get a sense of things there for yourself.

I was very surprised to see this report, but my experience with Breadtopia was the exact opposite. Friendly and courteous customer service and a quicker than anticipated delivery time. You must have have hit him on a very bad day. Maybe a loaf didn't rise!

Even so, seems like a fairly innocuous event to file a rip-off report for. But, I suppose people need to do what makes them feel better.

I ordered from this same company recently.  My items came within a week of purchase and even came with a handwritten "thank you".  I have been very impressed with all the videos and information on the website.  I have noticed that eric personally responds to all the questions that people post and obviously is dedicated to helping people.  I wouldn't judge the company on the merits of one unhappy person!

Happy customer

I just would like to help Eric to recover from that unfortunate - hard to judge whether it was fair or unfair - complaint.  I would like to share my positive experiences with Breadtopia. 

I have ordered from Eric's website on 2 occasions and both times I received excellent service that exceeded my expectations.  The simple gesture such as a handwritten thank you note, tells me that this businnesman cares a lot about the image he creates.  The first time I ordered, I indeed had to wait a long time but not because there was a delay in shipment but because they were out of stock and this was well posted on the website.  It was my decision to wait.  I could've bought it from other sources but I wasn't willing to pay more as Breadtopia had the best price.  This makes me wonder that maybe this complainer just didn't read the "fine print" and all of sudden freaked out.  I have trouble believing that Eric would lose his temper.  No, I haven't talked to him in person, but I have e-mailed him several times with questions or positive comments about his service or his website and he never left my e-mails unanswered.  Somebody who has patience and spends time to do it, takes pride in his service.  I am very happy with the products I ordered, good price, excellent quality, good service and I am delighted with Breadtopia posts, videos, recipes.  For the last 2 years, I've directed many of my friends and family members to Breadtopia after they tried my breads and asked for recipes and guidance.  I use the website regularly to check if there's anything new or just to enjoy what other bread enthusiasts have to say, or what they have been doing. I love it and value it and I would hate to see Eric discouraged by some disgruntled customer.  Keep up the good work Eric!

My experience with Breadtopia

I have known Erich for quite a few years, our online relationship began when I decided to make a sourdough bread. I found his site on line and asked him about a sourdough starter and any help he could offer. He sent me instructions to begin a starter in our own home. I followed those instructions, but for some reason(which I now know) the starter failed.I let Erich know of that failure, and he said he would send me a sample of his starter. I also found out later that he normally charges for this product, plus postage to Canada from Iowa.
I received the starter, successfully began a sourdough, and here we are over three years later, still  making sourdough bread from that same mother starter that he sent me.
In turn I have sent that starter to many other places in the USA to various friends. SC and as far apart from there as Mexico.
I have had nothing but good vibes from the owner of Breadtopia and I really would like to hear the other side of this story. Did the complainant get his pizza stone? Or did he get a refund?
I would really be amazed if neither of these things occurred.

This report, filed by Danyl, is almost completely inaccurate. It paints a picture that doesn't come close to matching the truth.

I say "almost" completely inaccurate because I did tell him to "grow up" and that part I stand by.
