   Rereading this post and following the ever changing story of the name changing OP. I think I have finally figured out exactly what's happening here. Instead of all of us working for Buck I think Barbara is/was the employee. She either did not get that dime per hour raise she wanted or she was fired for incompetence. She striking out at the store in the only way she can.     

   She claims that we "Buck employees" all all the time to respond and yet she's constantly here answering all posts, even after several "last time I post" responses.  I would think if the situation happened as she originally posted she would either have forgotten it and wrote the money off on taxes or tried to sue. At this point she should be busy running her current economic empire but she'd rather stay here arguing about this piddling amount.

In the interests of fair and balanced reporting, I'm going to acknowledge that Buck Dollar Stores has 2 other RR reports on them this year, both of which were answered by them with a very uninformative, form letter like response on June 16th, which basically stated they didn't know what customers the 2 posters were referring to and how proud of their BBB rating they were. The basic issues these other 2 store seekers had centered around the wholesale prices Buck showed for merchandise and store development/locating issues. I'm not going to bother with the links. Anyone searching Buck Stores will get all 3 posts. Does this prove to you, Dear Ms Babs (or Babbles as it were) that we do not, any of us, work for Buck? We can expect the same canned response from them probably in a couple of months since they appear to look for posts against them once in a blue moon, and that was already done 2 weeks ago. Now I'm not suddenly agreeing with the complaints made against them, just pointing out that Buck is probably not an angelic victim here. I think these other two store seekers also expected too much in some areas. God forbid they should be offered 2nd hand store fixtures. They're not looking to open Saks 5th Avenue. It's a freaking dollar store for heaven's sake! The margins aren't so great thru Buck? Well, you can always open a non-chain mom and pop shop and buy from where you want. Part of the cost of being a franchisee is having that name-brand store association. Your margins may be lower but you're expected to make it up in volume due to name recognition. End story is, BARARA, you are still very much a tool! Maybe you ought to go with Buck after all. You're both beginning to look like a good fit.

In your original post you say YOU decided to fly out there unannounced, then you change it to they convinced you to fly out there.  If they convinced you to fly out there don't you think they would have actually made an appointment?

In your original posts all we know is that it was your husband that made the first contact and we don't even know if you even talked to them at all.  Yet it is now they somehow convinced you to come out to see them.

In your original post the staff was friendly, now they were rude.  Just how does that work?

You loose any credibility you had if you can't even keep your story straight from post to post.  Nothing you have written shows that they Ripped you off.  I am not an employee and as I stated have zero knowlege of this company.  I am also not the idiot in this post.  After all I didn't spend $1,400 in airfair to fly out there unannounced without doing some basic research first.  If you were a true business owner at the very least you would have shopped around for better fares.  You can find totally refundable air fares in the $1,000 range, and even by plannning a couple weeks in advance you would have no problems finding discounted fares in the $500-$700 range, sometimes even less.

They convinced me to fly to Florida at my expense and they would show me stores and show me how successful I would become. There office is a shack and the people were very rude. First off it does not appear you gave them a single penny.  It was your choice to fly across the country unannounced, and from what you wrote it wasn't even you who had made the first contact with them it was your husband.  You mentioned that you called the references listed on their web page, and they were invalid.  Okay why didn't you do that BEFORE you spent $1,400 to fly out there?

I have no idea who this company is, if they are any good at what they do or not.  But on the surface it just sounds like another business opportunity that is probably not for everyone.  The business that failed, how do you know it was because of this company?  Perhaps those people just couldn't manage a business?

I will say one thing about the company though.  If they in fact do have out of date references on their web site that does look bad, where they probably need to work on keeping those current and valid.

where exactly did these folks rip you off? You took it upon yourself to spend over a grand to fly back and forth to check these people out in person, without making an appointment first. They took nothing from you. They promised you nothing that wasn't then delivered. Their offices weren't grand and palatial enough? Maybe that means they're a good, cost conscious company that doesn't waste funds on frivolity. You ripped yourself off and ought to amend this report to reflect that.

The company is correct. They did not have me registered in my name alone. The person that made first contact was my husband. We do not share the same last name. Either they don't see my last name associated with my husband or they are not telling you. The store was for me and I flew to Florida by myself. I tried putting my email address on my complaint but Rip Off Reports covered it up. I am sure they had their reasons, maybe to protect me. I am OK with Buck or anyone else to email me.
