burlington coat factory employer abuses the employees and does nothing to change atmosphere for the better waterbury, Connecticut
I work at the Waterbury Burlington coat Factory in Conn. I have been there for a while. It used to be alot more enjoyable to go to work but now it is like going to dentist everyday and being in pain. Here are the reasons why.
It is not all the management staff fault. Corporate is guilty of a good chunk of the problems. They cut hours all the time and do not give us enough,give us stupid rules to follow and over load us with unreal expectations most of the time.For example a move in a department was in progress and a dm came in and did not like it.Thus we had to do all that back breaking work to fix back to were it was before. Talk about miscommunication in the company. We were told to do the move and then stupid management did not like it so of course we had to put it back.
Now lets talk about management staff.Our manager ignores most of the problems that arise in hopes it just goes away.We have an assistant manager who will have everbody do work others then yours.And then bitch you out for not doing your work.
We also have a department manager who breaks all the rules. No cell phones on floor, but they have one and it is not used for business.They also are rude,talk down to you and behind your back.If you dare talk to them like they talk to you , they say your being insubounate. God if you get caught breaking a rule that they break all the time, watch out they will cuss you out.
Management is lazy also. If they see anything wrong they do nothing and call you from a half store away just to pick up two or three small things they could have done. WE also can not tell customers who are making big messes to stop or we get in trouble. They say we have to pick up after the idiots.
And the most strangest thing , you never get fired for those things even if you have ten million final warnings. You can do a no call no show and only get told you are a naughty girl and never do it again.
The last an most annoying thing that the hours they schedule make you work twice as hard. They only schedule bare minimum hours and god if some calls out they do not replace that person and expext you to work three times as hard.Not to mention that they have really unrealistic recover goals.
This equals one thing: emotional and physical abuse.
I just want the public to know what is really going on at the store.
