I would like to say my experience with this breeder. First off if you try and find a home for a german shepherd do your research before believingsomeones story. He will most likely contact you for your female shepherd if its over a year old. He will lie about being a breeder and put on a good act.

I rehomed my shepherd that I rescued from a puppymill to him because he put on a good show, had his wife with and everything. I told him if he no longer wanted her that id get her back and asked for updates. He assured me that id get updates and that his home would be her forever home.

After not getting updates I decided to search his number on google to find out he breeds german shepherds. So I contacted him and asked why he didnt tell me. Then he just told me he breeds select west german line shepherds. Well then whyd he want my rescue she was american and a puppymill dog. Anyways I tried being friends with him. Because I thought just maybe hed be a good breeder and carr about thr welfare of the dogs. He then bred my rescue. Changed her registration to ACA and changed her name under his name.

But again I was trying to be his friend. I mistakeningly gave him an akc dog that was a sibling to mine thinking maybe hed care about her too. Still trying to see the good in his "program" he kept telling me I could get a puppy from him in exchange because I never charged him for either dog. Well he lied which was no big deal. But I found out so much about his business. He does no hip or health testings, over breeds his dogs.

In january he sold my rescue dog after selling all her pups. She was 4 but he sold her as a 1 year old. My friend haa her daughtee who I also rescued. Tell me how the daughter is older then the mom? And he sold the akc dog without papers. Both for 250 and he got both for free.

Time went by and he decided to create a website where he listed his dogs and their pedigrees. Well his one dog that is missing part of her ear that he had from at least 2010 probably longer was on there with a pedigree from my akc dog. He used her papers on his older dog. His older dog was not born november 5th 2012. He has pics of said dog posted from novrmber 6th 2012 and way before. Unless she was born fullgrown.

He is lying and scamming people. Everytime he gets found out he complains and tries and gets his fans to get him to feel hes the best.

Clarification

This is a very strange situation because there are (2) german shepherd breeder's  using almost the same company name,  we are,  Butler Shepherds at  " butlershepherds.com"  located in California and the other is Butler's Shepherds, located in Harrisburg, PA., at  "butlersshepherds.com"   We have  no relationship or affiliation with Butler's Shepherds in  Harrisburg, PA.    Because the names are so similar our website gets mistakenly accessed .  For the record,  let it be known that we at "butlershepheds.com"  sells only pups that are AKC registered and of champion bloodlines.

Love This Breeder

AUTHOR: Stefanie - ()

POSTED: Monday, December 15, 2014

My husband I lost our lab 2 1/2 years ago And we were heartbrokrn. About 3 years ago we got our king shepherd, Saber, from a back yard breeder. She is amazing but has some issues with separation anaxiety. So when we lost our lab we knew we would have to get another dog to keep her company and to help heal our hearts. We live in an area were you have all the amish puppy mills. I did a lot of research and I came to this breeder b/c of all the positive feedback posted on his website. we picked up Thor in January of 2013. He has brought so much joy into our lives. Daryl, the breeder, has become family. I message him with any questions we may have. He stands by his word. Thor has had some health issues that come from just him being a German Shepherd (nit from his breeding).Daryl has stood by his health guarentee. He contacts me to see how Thor and Saber are doing. In fact we are going to his facility tomorrow with Thor for training. Daryl loves his dogs and you can see that in the way he takes care of them. We have recommended hI'm to friends and I know I will buy my next step from him.

Positive Experience with Butler's Shepards

AUTHOR: Missy - ()

POSTED: Monday, December 15, 2014

I have wanted a German Shepherd for over 10 years, when the timing In my life came for me to get this puppy I searched all over. I looked up all the information I was supposed to like what to look for, what questions to ask and so on. I meet a breeder who seemed to have all the right answers, so I purchased  a puppy from him. He let me take her at 6 weeks of age. I was so excited  that I didnt see all the red flags with him. My best friend also decided  to get a German Shepherd. So we proceeded to get another one.

During the process  of  looking for another puppy we came across Butler's  Shepherd.  We went to his location where we were amazed  to find a caring, wonderful  breeder. My friend purchased one of his puppies. And i introduced  my puppy to him that I got from the other breeder. He showed concern right away that this other breeder would allow his puppies to be released at such a young age. Never did he talk bad about the the other breeder or anything like that, he just said to be careful when taking a puppy home so early. That weekend we took our new babies to the vet to get them checked. My friend who purchased  a puppy from Butlers Shepards  was in perfect  health. Strong and healthy. When they got to mine they discovered that she had a serious  heart murmur.  And said she would probably  not live a long life. I was devistated. I waiting 10 years for my puppy  only to fall in love with one I had to say good bye to. Turns out I purchased  mine from a back yard breeder who didn't truly care for his puppies. My friend told Butler  Shepherd  about what had happened, he called me and apologized for that breeder and for me having to go through such a horrible experience. He said no one should have to go through that,  and that's why he took such pride in making sure that  his puppies were healthy. And he wanted me to know that not all breeders were like that back yard breeder.

I was afraid  to buy another puppy so I waited several months before I decide  to try again. This time I went to Butler Shepherds and purchase my beautiful  baby girl Mina. She has been such a blessing  to me and in my life. I couldn't  imagine  life without her. During this whole time my friend and I have called to ask him several questions about the care of our babies, he has been there since day one and is always  there when we have a question.  He definitely  restored my faith that there are good breeders who put the dogs before the dollar.  I would refer  Butler  Shepherd  to anyone who wanted a great German  Shepherd.  Butler Shepherd  is truly  a wonderful breeder who has blessed me with my baby girl. She's healthy  happy and perfect. The accusations that this pervious  person said shocked me and upset me. I have seen, met, and purchased from a back yard breeder who runs a puppy mill and doesn't care about there dogs, and Butlers  Shepards  is NOTHING like that and could  never be confused with such. He truly  cares about his dogs and puts there health and well being before anything else. I would like to send a special  thank you to Butler Shepherds  for blessing me with my baby and for being an amazing  person  and breeder!

Thank you for your apologies

POSTED: Monday, December 15, 2014

I have been a professional German Shepherd breeder for over 14 years. I am licensed by the Department of agriculture dog law enforcement agencies. I am the proud owner of the very first and only licensed kennel in Harrisburg City. I have to report to them where I get dogs from and when I get them. Dog law does pop up surprise inspections. I am also a five stare breeder, what that means is I am considered on of the finest Breeders in America. In this business some people get upset and you cannot make everyone happy and untruthful things get said. I am happy to see this apology posted from the Author of this. This shows good character in this person. Before you belive something negative about someone from the words of someone else, do further research to find out for yourself. My name is Darryl Butler and my kennel name is Butler's Shepherds. I have sold puppies to police forces in NJ and NY. I have sold dogs to NFL players and most importantly I have sold puppies to regular people that call me family. Those people are with me on my facebook page (Darryl Butler ). Notice my kennel name begins with my last name, now take notice how other dog breeders have a kennel name not associated with their name at all. I don't hide and I treat people right. All of my puppies come fully vaccinated with health records and health guarantee with vet forms. Full registration with 4 generation pedigree and free basic obedience training. This is Butler's Shepherds, the real indoor licensed kennel. I am Darryl Butler the proud owner.

My Experience with the Breeder

AUTHOR: DieselandMinasmom - ()

POSTED: Monday, December 15, 2014

 Hello.

I understand that everybody doesn't always have the same experiences. But I also feel I need to stand up for the truth. So I've decided to share my personal story.

I bought a puppy from Butler's Shepherd's in January 2014. My puppy is named Diesel and he just celebrated his first birthday. Diesel is my pride and joy! But getting to Diesel wasn't an easy journey!

I knew I wanted to get a male German Shepherd, as I've always wanted one. So I started researching breeders and looking at puppy websites, when the time was right for me. I live in West Virginia and the 2 breeders I found in the area charged an arm and leg for a puppy. Which I was willing to pay for my puppy, but I didn't feel a connection with the breeders or their dogs.

To me buying a puppy isn't just about the puppy but the connection and total overall experience. I have to connect with the puppy and the breeder, and it wasn't happening. I started to lose hope of finding my baby and it devastated me since my "sister" had found that finally with her female German Shepherd, Zoey.

I started to expand my search area into Pa. And found the cutest little boy at a female breeder about an hour and a half from me. I couldn't wait to go look at him!! I was so excited as Id been communicating with the breeder, who seemed like a nice lady, and because my sister was going to get her Zoey soon!

Our goal was to get our puppies very close to eachother so they could grow together and we could enjoy them together! We also had a very high passion to breed. We didn't want to be a puppy mill nor a backyard breeder though. We wanted to find our perfect babies that we could love and spoil and eventually share the love with other people that we had with them. To help better the breed and people's knowledge of the amazing German Shepherd Dog.

The time finally came for us to go get my sister's baby, Zoey. I was soooo excited! We drove to her breeders house and we were so happy!! Not only were we bringing 6 week old Zoey home! It also meant the next day we were going to get my precious boy! Everything felt perfect, or so we thought!

We Picked Zoey up and took her home. To our home! She was ours! It felt sooo amazing!! Then the night came, we got barely any sleep, but, we loved every minute of it because we had this precious beautiful little girl howling and keeping us up! Then the morning came and it was time to leave to go get my babyboy! My sister, brother-in-law, Zoey, and myself hopped in my car and made the hour and a half journey to the female breeders house.

We finally made it there, after a few stops to take Zoey potty, and the excited feeling I had slumped. My stomach dropped as we pulled up and I saw that the breeder lied. She was a backyard breeder, and i felt horrible for her dogs as they sat in small pens outside.

I tried to not pass judgement and decided to go in. The little boy I wanted to be mine was adorable and I was ready to take him home. Get him out of the filth he was living in. I was ready to hand over the money we agreed on and she told me she changed the price and wanted over double what we agreed on. I just couldn't do it. I wasn't prepared for that nor did I feel the connection. So I politely declined and asked my sister and brother-in-law if we could please just go home.

We got in the car and started to drive and my sister could see the Devastation I was feeling, so could my brother-in-law. They did what any loving family would do. She started looking online for local breeders and he said he would gladly drive us anywhere we wanted to go to see if we could find the one.

My sister found Butler's Shepherd's online and it wasn't very far away. So she handed me her phone and had me call. Darryl was very kind on the phone and willing to accommodate the short notice visit. He wasn't even in town, but, did what he had to do to be there for our visit.

I kept a weary mind and heart as I didn't want to go through what I just went through AGAIN! Especially since Darryl mentioned he registered with ACA vs. AKC and I knew nothing about anything but AKC. He explained to me what ACA was and told me to look at their website and took my fear away of the unknown. Which started to make me feel a great breeder connection, we were off to a good start.

On our way to his house we realized that I left my phone at McDonald's and had to turn around and back track almost 30 minutes. When we got there and i got my phone back I had a missed call and voicemail from Darryl to check on my family and myself, to make sure we were ok. Another point for a great breeder connection.

When we finally pulled up all of the dogs were in the fenced in front yard. except for Diesel's gorgeous and sweet Grandfather, Pepsi. He came to great us at the car with Darryl and was a gentleman and walked us inside as we followed Darrly to look at his puppies.

When we got inside I saw the gorgeous puppies and fell in love, I climbed in their well made stalls with them and got more kisses than I knew what to do with. I loved every second of my dog kiss bath and loved getting whacked in my shins with their happy wagging tails. I knew they were loved and socialized.

We were with Darryl and his puppies for almost 2 hours while we talked about the puppies, breeding, owning my first GSD, the best way for us to house break Diesel, his health guarantees, puppy lemon law, showing us his licensing, and answering any silly question first time owners could think of. Darryl was patient, kind, understanding, and knowledgable. He made my experience amazing.

Diesel finally picked me and I knew he was my forever baby. I couldn't be happier or more in love with my sweet little boy. Darryl made sure to let me know to call him with anything and he would be there to support me and Diesel. Him and his awesome wife have been more supportive than I could ever hope for or imagine. And it started from the first second.

My family and I went home with our new babies, supplies from Darryl, and so many puppy kisses. We thought everything was once again perfect and we were so happy. Again were we wrong.

When Darryl met my sister's baby, Zoey, he said he wasn't trying to scare us but he recommended we take her to the vet very soon because she was very small and couldn't believe the breeder we got her from let us take her home so soon. We were blinded by love. He was right though. When we took them for their check ups a coue days later they told us Diesel was healthy and perfect but Zoey had a level 4 heart murmur and most likely wouldn't make it past 6 months of age. We were devastated.

Darryl helped us through our tough time by answering questions and giving advice, which was all correct, even though she didn't come from him. We made the tough decision to take her back to the breeder we got her from because we couldn't atand the thought of her dying in front of us and we're afraid we would be unable to give her the proper care she needed to live the best life she could with her murmur.

We took her back, sobbing the whole way there and the whole way home. But when we got home Diesel was there to love us and help make that horrible experience better.

The time finally came where we healed enough and my sister was ready to get another little girl. So we went right to Darryl. He again accepted us and welcomed us with open arms and helped us find a perfect little girl that we named Mina! He exceeded our first visit to him and again blew us away with another great experience.

While we were there we let him know out interest in breeding Diesel and Mina when they were older. Because of our passion and thrust for knowledge not only did he agree to give us some knowledge, he agreed to mentor us! We couldn't have been any happier! To be mentored from a man we look so highly to and that we trust so much! We feel blessed!!

It's been almost a year since my family and I started our relationship with Butler's Shepherd's and that time has been amazing! We have 2 beautiful babies, an amazing mentor and supporter, and many years of a friendship with our breeder. We trust nobody else!

I hope one day we can be amazing breeders like Butler's Shepherd's is! He is a friendly guy with great puppies and dogs, a clean facility that smells amazing!, lots of knowledge, a huge heart, and a true passion for what he does!

I'm sorry to those who have not had a good experience with past breeders. If your looking for an amazing experience please make the trip to his facility. I'm very picky and I promise you won't be disappointed.
