BWP Mags - BWP Publications - Blue Whale Publications - Community Reading Club ripoff Deceptive and Misleading Magazine Subscription Sales Fort Lauderdale Florida

This story is very similar to others who have been mislead by Blue Whale Publications.

I received a call from a telemarketer one afternoon who stated that for $49.90 I could receive 60 months of magazines. The representative never made any reference, in any way, to the amount being paid for over a 20 month period, I was advised it would be a payment of $49.90 for 60 months worth of magazines. No paper agreement was ever sent to me by Blue Whale Publications explaining the requirements. They requested payment only in debit card form. When I received a call the next day as they tried to record me when they got to the 49.90 for 20 months, I told her to stop, I was advised her that was not what I was advised yesterday and I needed to cancel this due to it not being as descibed. She gave me the run around indicating there was no one there who could cancel this. She tried to get me to continue with placing the order contining to repeat herself many times. I finally had end the call since I was not getting anywhere with her. I called them back the next day thinking I would get someone willing to listen and have this canceled, but he told me I was not able to cancel. I called my bank and transferred my debit card to another number. I don't understand why this is happening. I didn't sign anything. They don't have me on record agreeing to pay $49.90 a month for 20 months. The only thing I did was give my credit card number because I was told this was something totally different than what it really is. I don't understand how they can get away with being able to do this to people. I know this is going to be hanging over me for some time.

How can this company be repremanded for they are doing? The worst of it all is we are on a do not call list and if I had just said when they first called that I was on the list, this may have all ben avoided. But I was nice enough to listen and get conned out of $49.90 and probably some heartache to come when they start trying to get more out of me.
