This Claim Was Arbitrated in Cabinfield's Favor

AUTHOR: Dave - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, November 12, 2013

The coder is referring to work we hired him for on Freelancer.com.  This site has a procedure to arbitrate disputed.  We were unhappy with the coder's work and agreed to arbitrate, per the terms of the site.  Below are the results of the arbitration.  Dispute #76351.

I. 100% of the milestone payment is refunded [to the employer] for the following reasons:

A. The disputed milestone is intended to be released once the output is fully tested and found to be free of bugs and issues[1].

B. It is apparent on the Dispute Page that the freelancer's output still has errors[2]. Note that it is the freelancer's responsibility to make sure that the rendered output works well on the employer's end.

C. It is also apparent on the private message board that the project was not finished on the agreed deadline. On 04/25/2013, the freelancer mentioned that he/she was close to finishing the project and is still working on the tablet version of the site[3]. Since the freelancer bid for 10 days[4] and was hired on 04/04/2013[5], he/she is expected to have delivered their output on or before 04/14/2013.

Accepting a project signifies a freelancer's agreement and obligation to deliver services that match the employer's project specifications. This includes abiding by the delivery deadline and delivering the required output in full.
