As a loyal Total Rewards card holder for the Caesar's Group of hotels and casinos, we often stay at their properties for comp or very low rates. Recently, they have added $18 to $20 per night resort fee at their Las Vegas resorts, that is totally useless and pointless other than suckering more money from people. That aside, however, they feel they need to scam their loyal customers even more when booking hotels with them.

When we sign into our Total Rewards account in order to make reservations, the amount they show us we can get a room for is a lie. We put in our dates and the desired hotel (in this case it was Flamingo Las Vegas) it shows us a rate of $28.50 per night (before the stupid resort fee, of course, which would make it $48.50 per night). We thought that was a reasonable amount to pay and were very happy with it, but when we chose "book now" the total trip prices showed us $68.90 per night plus the $20 resort fee, which would now be $88.90 per night before taxes. HOW, please tell me, can you tell someone they are entitiled to $28 rooms and then when they agree to the price and want to book, double the amount?

In anthe web site. They were beyond rude, said they saw rates even more expensive than we saw online at booking time and then gave us a laundry list of excuses that we could not get the lower or comp rates.  Rates change per minute, we ran out of available rooms at that price (booking in February for July...  should be PLENTY of time for availability), if you book a full month like out website is set up to quote for you get a lower rate than when you select only a few nights.  Please stop insulting people's intelligence. It is pathetic.

Any other instance booking for Caesar's Windsor Casino Hotel in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, all the days during the time we wanted to reserve showed us as Comp...  Should have been completely free. But, when we chose to book, it turned into $250 the first night, $70 the second night and $59 the third night.  What????  What happened to telling us we were entitled to comp nights?

We called to see what we could do if booking by phone intead explaining that there seemed to be an issue with other hotel chain gives you an actual price when quoting and does not double it when you get to the actual booking part.  Or, they advertise rates "starting from" so that you know what you actually choose could be more. That is the way it should be. When you decide to go through the booking process, it should be when you already know and agree to the actual rates as they are going to remain. If I agree to $28.50 a night, I am not agreeing to $28.50 or whatever you actually decide to charge me when I want to be a loyal customer and book with you.

Also, they charge a $10 fee if you want to book with them over the phone and don't even tell you about it up front. Their competitors also charge this if you want to book over the phone, but they state it in many places, so it is completely expected. Caesar's corporation sneaks it in and only reveals it if you wonder why the total came up and ask them, they tell you about it. If you are an older person that does not use the internet or you are booking from a location that does not have a computer, why should you be penalized???

Why try to scam and hide real costs from people and take us for idiots? I hope more people wake up and do not book with them again until they get an accurate quote.
