I unfortunately had to discover myself that CardReaderPlanet.com is a scam.  These individuals were very friendly and helpful, but it turned out that they were indeed scammers.

12 days ago I contacted card reader planet in order to purchase their MSR-CRP1B.  They were very helpful and their prices seemed very fair.  I contacted them primarily over email at their support@cardreaderplanet.com email address.  They informed me that their MSR-CRP1B was able to read interrupted swipes just like the MSRv010 and MSRv007.  I decided to go ahead and purchase their card reader.

I requested to use PayPal as the payment method, but was informed that their PayPal was "currently unavailable."  Not thinking anything of it I went ahead and used Western Union as they suggested it was the best method.  I sent them over $800 for the MSR-CRP1B including shipping to their receiver in Estonia.  While their location seemed odd, I did not think too much of it as there are many reputable payment exchangers all over the world and simply assumed they may be using one.  Furthermore, there were no scam reports at the time on them which aided in my purchase.

I was informed that my order would be shipped in 2-3 days and I promptly provided them with the payment and shipping information.  After 2 days I checked the status of the Western Union transfer to see that it was picked up.  I emailed cardreaderplanet.com to check on my order.  I was informed that all was well and it would be shipped shortly.  After another 2 days I emailed them, this was 1 day after my order was supposed to be shipped.  I did not receive a reply.  I tried on day 5 to no avail, I have emailed them daily until today.

I have given up hope that they will do the right thing and refund my payment.  I informed them that I will be posting this review to warn others to stay away from their site as it is set up entirely as a scam site.  I have not heard from them in over a week, now and it has been 10 days since I purchased a card reader from them.

They are very professional, and I do not doubt that some of their photos may be legitimate.  Unfortunately, all of this leigitmacy enables them to scam users more effectively.  They reply to emails very quickly until you send them money and then they vanish.  While it is unfortunate that I was scammed out of my money, I hope that this review will help you avoid the same fate.

A company based in England tells you to pay them in Estonia?  And you send them money by Western Union?  This is because Paypal doesn't work?  Estonia, a land with no enforceable consumer protection laws.  Western Union, about the same as handing a stranger cash - completely untrackable.  Why didn't you just douse the money with gasoline and set it on fire instead?  At least then you would have been warm for a few minutes, and burning money makes pretty colors.

Sometimes when I read this site I really wonder what people are thinking about when they are shopping online.  Ladies and gentlemen, there is blood in the water and sharks who want your money are all around you.  Caveat Emptor!

In the end I am sorry to hear about your loss and applaud the fact that you are reporting on rip off report so others can benefit.  But wow.
