carnival cruise lines after saving enough money for a year carnival gives my room away and refunds half of my money. miami, Florida

I am stationed over in Germany as a soldier. I don't get paid much, and found that carnival finally has a cruise ship over here giving cruises in the Med. After planning with my wife and son and saving every nickle and dime for a year we finally booked a cruise on the carnival magic.

We were given a price of around $2000 for this 7 day cruise and that was after the military discount. All we had to do was show proof of my military service. My wife scaned my ID card and emailed the copy to the cruise lines. Thats when the problems started.

2 months later after we had already been given our confermation info we find $900 in our account for no reason. we call the bank and it was carnival cruise that put the money in our account. We call the cruise lines and a very rude lady tells us that we did not send our email with the ID scanned so we were automatically cancled and they were keeping half our money.

We finally got ahold of someone alot nicer and they said they could take the money back and get us a room, however the room we wanted (inside stateroom was already given to someone else and the only rooms left are balcony wich would cost an extra $1000 after we paid the $900 back. we did not have enough money so we had to cut our losses. I asked if we could get the rest of the money back and they told us no. I will never travel carnival cruise lines again.
