I have never done business with this company and never will after reading these report AND after what this company has done to use in the last two days.

Yesterday, we were mailed a letter from this company. I did not look at the front of the mailing (my mistake) and just opened it. The letter was a repo warning if payment was not sent ASAP. I looked at the top of the letter and it was for the guy three houses down from us. The letter had his address but the envelope had our address with his name on it. I figured I would do the right thing and call the company to let them know of their mistake. Little did I know, that was MY mistake in doing so.

I told the woman at this company that they were sending this letter to the wrong address and explained they had the letter addressed right; just not the envelope. She asked me to walk it over to the man. I said no because he is a registered sex offender. She said she understood and told me rip it up and she would issue him another letter. So, I did what she said and got on with my life.

Less than an hour later a man called claiming my husband just called him. I told him that my husband had not used the phone all day and they must have the wrong number. The man was rude and demanded to talk to my husband. I told him he had the wrong number and hung up. Then, it occurred to me that this might be that company calling back.

So, I called the man back and told him that I was the one who might have called him because of the letter I got by mistake that should have went to the man down the street. He told me he was a repo man who worked for Carnow and he asked me if I was Mrs. Williams. I said no, and gave him my correct name. He asked if I was Susan. I said, again, no and AGAIN gave him my correct name.

He then started going over old addresses AND phone numbers we had and started treating to repo my car if we did not pay him. I told him he had the wrong person and we have no car for him to repo...I said if you feel I have this car you claim I do...come take it from my garage and I will sue you for trespassing, breaking and entering, car theft, property damage, harassment, and emotional distress. I told him not to call again and hung up.

I then called this Carnow back and told them what had happened and that they needed to call their "dogs" off because they had the wrong people. I explained that I own my two cars outright and have never done business with them. I said, "I was just trying to do the right thing by pointing out your mailing error so this guy had a chance in keeping his car". She said she had received a phone call at the same time I called in with the letter issue and gave the repo guy my phone number instead of the other callers by mistake. She said she would call this repo guy back to tell him her mistake.

Today, I got ANOTHER letter from them...this time it was with return receipt. I told my mailman what was going on and told him this letter goes down the street. He sent the letter back to Carnow and said they must be some big jerks to treat people this way.

I then called the company back, reminded them of the days before issue, and said," If you send me one more letter for this O'Brian guy OR call my home....I will have you charged with mail and phone harassment.". The man said ok and I hung up.

I have learned my lesson...the next time I open mail..I am looking at the name first. I will then give the wrong addressed mail BACK to the mailman and wash my hands of it right then and there. AND I will never do business with this company if they have the nerve to treat NON customers this way!
