We're quite a large company and we do a lot of business with China, so every couple of months we encounter a case for the Ripoff Report.

This particular sleazy company goes under many names: OUMIAO CNC, Lanke MicroCNC Co, carving-CNC.com and YOOCNC (which product's they appear to be counterfeiting).

We paid with PayPal for one of their top CNC routers, the X6-1500GT-USB.

They then told us they refused to put a different "payer" address on the customs invoice than the delivery address, and they claimed this was because DHL or Fedex would not agree to this. This is nonsense, and we told them that. The reason their shipping agent told them that nonsense is because they don't want to spend time adding space for one extra address in their forms.

Carving-CNC.com kept telling us that we really were wrong and they would not use our payer address on the invoice. That would mean that we woul not be eligible to deduct the import VAT, costing us about 600 dollars. [continued below]....

When, after days of back-and-forth, they rudely told us they were not going to comply with our very reasonable request of having a different "Bill to" than "ship to", we did some more Googling of their products because we had initially heard a lot of good things about heir CNC routers/mills. We considered absorbing the 600 dollar loss.

However, after hours of reading forums, it turned out hat those mills are good in mechanical quality alone, but nothing else, and often not even the ballbearings lasted longer than 10 to 20 hours, machining aluminum.

We read that they never ever answer any emails after making the sale. Not even when parts were missing or damaged. And a LOT of shipping damage occurs. We read that the controllers blow themselves up due to design flaws. Too much too mention.

So we asked for a refund. Simple enough, seen the fact that they hadn't shipped yet.

They rudely refused, so we filed a PayPal dispute, explaining the situation.

But then Lance took over of Grace from carving-CNC.com and he said that unless I would "apologize" in 24 hours (for what?) to both him and PayPal (how and why?), they would not grant us the refund. That would imply they would either directly steal our 2500 dollars or they would steal 600 dollars in VAT by refusing to use the correct payer address (to which our VAT number is registered).

So we escalated the dispute to a PayPal claim, and Lance again threatened to refuse the refund.

We warn people against carving-cnc.com and their bad products and bad customer service. The CNCX6-1500 Series and everything else they sell is mechanically reasonable but flawed, and electronically a total disaster. The water tubes are too thin and will have to be replaced. The wires in the cables break within weeks. The stepper motors loose steps. The controllers blow up due to design flaws.

I had no issues with Carving -CNC

I spotted this report whilst researching for the same machine from carving-cnc. I decided to ignore it after reading so many positive reviews for the company.

I went on to purchse the same machine, and after about a week I got notice that it was being shipped. Had a tracking number and machine arrived about 3 days later.

The machine has since been assembled and is working fine. I have had no issues with broken cooling tubes or wires and my machine does not miss any steps.

For the record, I had no special requests regarding different postal and billing address.
