I saw the Cash Call commercials on television. I borrowed $2,400 from them to help with medical expenses. They deducted $200 from my checking account each month. I discovered that out of my $200 payment only $11.00 was going to pay off the $2,400. $189 of it was going to Cash Call as "interest."

I became disabled this year. I put a stop payment on them at my bank. They call me about 9 times each day and leave nasty, rude, messages. Their agents don't use their real names.

"Mr. Brown", who sounds like he wants to bust my kneecaps, isn't using his real name. At least, when I return his calls I'm told there is no "Mr. Brown" there. I bet all their scumbag employees use aliases as a cover -- otherwise people might show up at their door and bust THEIR kneecaps.

People, as I don't recommend busting kneecaps, we need to band together and file a major class action lawsuit with to stop these money-grubbing vultures!!!

They are a curse on society. And a cancer upon the economy.

cash call

I am getting cash call calls on my cell like 4 or 5 times a day with different numbers.  I have never had a payday loan, nor do I ever intend to.  I have blocked their numbers but once and a while they get through to my voice mail.  I have never talked to a real person, nor do I want to.  I know this is a scam.  The question is, how long are they going to keep this up before they realize I am not biting.

What I see a alot with this company is those who do pay off their loans like I did they still did not report it correctly on my credit report showing a negative. They refused to fix it or didn't care and neither did Experian. So I sued both of them and won. Went to credit attorney which was on retainer. Not only did cash call have to fix my credit report I got paid too and Experian also broke the law.

Cash Call messed around with my account that you hear so much about. I stopped paying till they fixed it. Of course they never did and after a couple of years turned and sued me for $2500.00. That is the same amount that I borrowed no crazy interest rate that they went after me for. SO paid it immediately but they refused to show it paid on my credit report. This is where the violated the law and both Experian who works for the creditors and Cash Call had to pay my attorney, me, and this no longer is on my report at all.

So they do abuse and don't care until someone sues them. They paid out more than $2500 i can tell you that.

My view of cash call

I do agree that their intrest rates are very high and a unresonable, but when your in need of money and u have some credit problems they will loan you the money quick. I have a loan through them I was in some trouble and needed money fast, and when no one else wanted to help me they were willing. I have no problems with them so far I have two more payments left and I will be done with paying off the loan. I do feel sympathy for the people who are harrassed and called over and over non-stop becasue they missed one payment or need some time to make a payment, but bottom line is if u took out the loan, signed that loan agreement you have to pay back the full amount.

Except for the amount they charge for interest..

The mistake everyone keeps making is just paying the minimum payment!

Of course its all going to interest, and you are doing nothing to reduce the balance.

You have to make MORE THAN THE MINIMUM PAYMENT. Indicating that the extra is to be applied to principal balance. As you lower the balance - the amount of interest charged goes down as well. It gets paid off faster and costs less in the long run..

These places couldnt stay in business if people would wake up and stop using them. The interest rate is deplorable....and the tactics they use are beyond anything that should ever be allowed or used for any reason. Stop patronizing these dumps, work on your credit score and dont look back. My credit score wasnt but 500 8 years ago.......I had a hard time getting a loan of any kind. Rather than risking these types of places I concentrated on cleaning my score up , working hard, paying everything on time and today.......my score is almost 800. So IT can be done.

Cash Call OKAY

I've read lots of bad things about Cash Call. Yes, I agree their rates are highest in the field. Yet, that is what you get when no credit checks or unwritting those with bad credit.

I can sympathize with you, consumer, but unfortunately when you break your end of the contract they have a right to collect and use just about any means necessary.

I have been with Cash Call for about a year now, but they seem to be nice to me when I have them on the phone. In fact, my due date fell a day before my payday once and they changed the debit to that day with no fee.

I have 4 more months to go I will have fulfilled my loan agreement with them. In fact, if they still write loans for my state, I will probably use them again. Yes, again it isn't the best option for a consumer when getting money loaned to them. Cash call, in fact, encouraged me to exhaust other conventional loan options first before choosing them, and they encouraged me to pay off my loan asap so I don't get charge all the interest associated with this special loan. For me, they were very forthcoming and didn't feel cheated at all.

If I were to rate Cash Call's service I would say 8. They would only become a 10 if their interest rates were reduced. Other than that - I would say for someone that has no other options and tough credit then choose Cash Call. If you can use collateral with a local bank - do that first, though.

(Be assured I am not a Cash Call employee) I remember reading all the web stuff about them but still chose to do a loan through them. In fact, I was not high pressured when I took my time to decide (I took 2 weeks to decide and didn't have to redo my application with them - I was on file and all I needed to say is 'ok' and I got the money wired to me). THANK YOU CASH CALL - you probably saved me from losing both my vehicles when my money ran temporarily dry!

Highway Robbery - Is This Right?

Just an FYI, I would never even remotely consider taking out a loan from an institution like this.

I saw the commercial and yes, it does state the APR. It's fine print and only shown for a split second, but it is there, which does satisfy their legal requirements. There's even a message suggesting not to take out a loan that you can't make the payments on. This is good advice, and a great example of how important it is to read the fine print.

But does this justify this kind of APR? I believe that even people with not-so-good credit who sees this and understands interest rates wouldn't even have a notion of a consideration of this legal scam. I called these guys one time to give them a piece of my mind (I know it would be fruitless, but it made me feel better), as I don't like seeing people get taken advantage of, and sad to say that most of the people who agree to this type of loan don't know any better.

The person on the phone was very rude to me, and tried to make me feel at fault for considering a 99.23% APR to be financial rape.

I would be ashamed to work for a place like this as I take pride in my work and have a conscience. That's a bad combination. At least the person I spoke with could have been honest with me and tell me that yes, 99.25% APR is by all means wrong, however he defended it, as if telling me that people get what they deserve.

The end of the conv was him telling me to call back until I was ready to take out a loan, as if to say that I was a fool for NOT agreeing to such a high interest rate.

I have to say that in my opinion it is people like this who set up institutions like this that make me sick and make the world be considered a 'cold cruel place'

I am hoping that one day this type of institution will be legally banned.

You might want to plug peer to peer lending into a search engine. I'm a lender at such a site. If you want to send cash call to the history books I'll explain how it works.

Private people will lend you money the interest is based on your credit FICO and DTI. Bad credit is not a problem because there are people willing to lend to you.

There are groups of folks who lend money to take cash call and pay day loan bottom feeders business away and make no secret of it.

Hear that cash call Nevada dude. I just may be one of them.

My point is there is a way to get this blood sucking leech off you.

This is ridiculous

My daughter got a car loan with payments of $215 for 60 months and that was for $10,000. I'm thinking that this is just legalized thievery. They are taking money from those that can least afford it, those that find themselves in a bind. I'm thankful that I've never been in a situation that I've needed such a service, and I'll make sure to tell my kids to watch out for these predators. *Shaking head*, what is this world coming to?

This is not predatorial! Why not just pay back the loan or remain current as agreed? Cashcall provided money to you during your time of need based on TRUST when no one else would, and you make this company out to be bad guys. Why, because you got tired of making your payments which were clearly explained to you in the original contract.

When opening a loan with cash call you are informed of the number of payments you are required to make if your DECIDE to take the life of the loan to repay. I believe it's about 41 payments of $216.55 for a $2600 loan give or take based on the interest rate. In order to receive funding for this loan you must first READ! then sign the agreement, this document also gives you the interest rate, and other terms of the contract CLEARLY. Such as auto debits and due dates.

If you decide to anything other then what's agreed then you are in breach of contract (regardless to the circumstance). It's not cashcalls responsibility to educate you on reasons why you shouldn't get a loan that you cannot afford or get tired of repaying.

California's Rosenthal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act

If companies are leaving nasty and rude messages consider taking legal action. The Faif Debt Collection Practices Act only applied to "debt collectors" usually 3rd part but in California the Rosenthal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act is a statue the makes these laws apply also to "original creditors" which cash call is. If they violate any of these laws, whether it be Harrasment or abuse by telephone, Profane or obscene language, Language whose effect is to abuse or allegations of disgraceful conduct all are prohibited by original creditors and debt collectors.

There are also many other prohibited actions like calling at unusual times, causing the phone to ring excessive w/the intent to annoy are all illegal. Check out the law on http://www.dca.ca.gov/legal/dc_2.pdf and contact an attorney.

Try westcoastlitigation.com remember these companies have to pay your attorney fees if they are found guilty. It doesn't hurt to try.

It seems everyone has a solution, but no one has any information on how we can get these leeches off of us. I am a cashcall customer, and I too, have been stalked, harrassed and treated unfairly.

I am not by any means trying to get out of my financial obligation, I would just like a way to pay my bill, mins the threats, calls and horrible feeling that I am "less than." For all the cashcall customers going through, keep your head up, something is bound to come through.

To all the people who are judging us and making us feel as if we are idiots, Life happens... I just hope it never happens to you...

Yes these types of "cash" lenders are predatory but did you READ what you signed? These types of lenders should be put out of business; they cater to folks whose only concern is getting the money they need, but if you signed an agreement with them, whose fault is it? Sorry, but they got you.

Next time, set up a payment arrangement with your medical providers and at worst, you will pay 1.5% per month (18% annually) interest.
