hen we started this course we were excited, some of us got to interact with the instructor before the course began and she was really real and sincere, it was exciting. Before you get to begin your actual class at CDI College you have to take a silly student success course. This course is not worth it's money. The instructor for this course talks a lot about herself and how she has been teaching for over 30 years and her husband George is an instructor at a public college. This class is about how to use a computer and do a resume and silly games. The instructor allows people to eat, check their phones and be on the computer during class time. None of this makes sense.
During this time there were students from the Addictions course saying really bad things about the instructor and CDI College. The male student who let us know that he was a PETA representative and part of the Banditos biker gang told us that the instructor was a liar and he was going to get her fired and teach the class and he wouldn't stop till this was done. The female student was saying that the instructor had ruined her life and she was going to hurt her, she told us that she was going to throw a desk on her and that the instructor was her mother. It proceeded to get worse. I remember that myself and 2 of the other students would hide in the bathroom until the instructor came in at 9. We wonder how our instructor did it, coming to work everyday and smiling and looking at us like it will be ok. Sometimes you could see that out instructor was in pain as she has Multiple Sclerosis but she would remain professional and teach with grace.
The male student would come in when the instructor was teaching and plug his ears. Wow we were paying for this. The instructor did not have a lot of support. When the instructor would leave the room for break, the broken students would say that she was an effin b and they were going to get her fired, this became very distubing. A lot of us wrote testimonials and signed them for the Director Rodney DSouza as this was a dangerous environment. It was heartbreaking as this woman who was doing nothing wrong was a target of very mean souls, they needed so much help. In Canada we have a Canadian Criminal Code and Sections 36,37 and 38 state that when a person is fearful of impending threats, they are allowed to act in self defense, there is a provocation law. CDI College does not care about that, they do not care about good staff and good students well-being, we are all dollar bills and that is all we are.Provocation is equal to blows, words or gestures. There is the Charter of Rights and Freedoms in Sections 1 and 3 that states that even freedom of speech is condusive to reasonable limits. Anyone who publicly makes statements promoting hatred is criminally liable for hate crimes, but nothing was being done.We suspected that the manipulative student was recording the class which is illegal but staff did not do anything about this and the instructor was helpless as she was scared to say anything for fear of getting physically hurt.AT CDI College if there is a problem they just have the student sign a contract and they carry on. Eventually after the instructor and some of the students went thru 4 weeks of this to the point where the Director told us that the instructor went out of her way and was very successful of getting placement hosts in order for the colleges to open according to the Ministry Manadates, she arranged to have her friend Spider Jones speak at the college which the broken students turned on her to and tried to get in touch with him and his facility and the instructor was called a liar.She was arranging partnerships with agencies for the students. The male student was dropped and there were 4 mean students left. The other male student was saying lies on fb stating that he lost so much learning time and the instructor did not start our classes until 9:30 which wasnt true and we told the Director that. Our instructor had arranged for us to go to the Shoe Memorial in recognition of the woman that had lost their lives due to abuse. Our instructor had asked for as many shoe donations as possible and when she bagan cleaning the shoes, the broken students started making fun of her and belittling her.She just stated that we are to be grareful that we have shoes on and when paying it forward to do it with class and dignity.The other female student stated that she was not going as she did not have a handicapped parking pass like the instructor so she wasnt going...wow. It got worse then 2 days later the manipulative female student was dropped. The instructor worked very hard to bring homeostasis back to the classroom, she arranged a christmas party where everyone brought a gift if can afford and eat and b gratful, finally everyone was breathing again and the three students that were left from the broken and sick crew were left.
Here we are, it was exciting to go to class, the instructor brought in guest speakers and allowed for us to learn and ask questions and we applied the learnings, she always acknowledged our goodness, she always stated that people teach her how to treat them and we were a pleasure. We would laugh and learn, until now. OnThursday, Jan 16th after the instructor had left, the broken student was back and he met with the Director and Mary for 45 min. This student must have been saying that he was going to go public and file a lawsuit against CDI College. To everybody's dismay the instructor was let go on Friday. Wow CDI care more about making money and saving face then students and good staff. I have found out also the reps tell you that your credits earned are applicable to move on to college or university, that is not true. CDI preyslon the immigrants and the vulnerable all for business and and a percentage, it is ran like a cult.Many students now plan on filing a lawsuit and going public and getting their money back. CDI is not a college it is a business and if an instructor does not baby and kiss a students a*s and CDI is threatened with bad media coverage like in Vancouver they try to get rid of anybody of essence. I do not think CDI Ontario will be around for long, this will go public as human beings have a right to know...DO NOT GO TO PRIVATE COLLEGES. If you look at the hiring rate for Addictions/CSW's, you will find that the stats are non existent...this program is just a cash cow....I have learnt that in order to work in the Addictions field you need the appropriate teachings from a public college or University. If the instructor who was let go needs support and documentation she will get it from us....Please do not go to CDI College and tell those who you know who are vulnerable and do not let the reps at any campus especially the Mississauga manipulate you..there is more to life then money but not to CDI...not to Todd Lush, Randy Cox ( who is is Vancouver) Rodney DSouza, Mary L and Patricia Lyn....wow I do not know anymore names as I have to do more researchin order for everybody involved to be held accountable sorry.....BUYER BEWARE
