everyday at least 4 or 5 times a day this place calls my home demanding money and threatening me with investigations on my assets(which I don't have any). I explained to this stupid people that I lost my job in 2007 that's why I gave the car up in the first place. They said they don't care they just want their money. I also explained to them that I haven't worked in over a year and just had back surgery.

They told me to get the money from someone else. Regency sold that car for little or nothing. I paid 10,000.00 for the car and they say I owe them 7,000.00. There ain't no way. It's been 4 years and all of a sudden the phone calls start. If I could barrow 7,000 I would take it and buy my kids the things they need not pay for a car that I don't have. The car was in perfect shape I had just put new tires on it the month before I lost my job. Can someone please help me stop the phone calls.

#6 Consumer Suggestion

I suggest taping these calls

AUTHOR: Nathan - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 08, 2011

First off I am not an attorney.  These calls are harassment.  You need to tape these calls. They need to incriminate themselves with threats of arrest etc.   Now,  the cost of equipment to tape these calls may seem like alot.  But,  It puts you in the position of control.  Do what ever to get the equipment.

You can also rerecord the messages they leave.  I would then get an NACA lawyer. You can also contact on the web  Debtorboards.  They are a com.  They offer free advise they don't sell or spam you.

Some NACA lawyers will take it on a contingency basis.  You could also file a complaint with your attorney general of your state.  But get the evidence that they are harassing you. You have bargaining chips then

Good Luck

This is long past Statute of Limitations, tell them to F** OFF

It can't be collected now, and they know it. DO NOY PAY A SINGLE CENT. Doing so now resets the clock, THEN they CAN sue for the whole thing.

Sounds like a $ scam !

AUTHOR: Steve - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, June 03, 2011

Have you done some reseach on this company? I am just wondering if this is a scam for money. I wouldn't give them any money until you contact lawyer. Right now a bogus company named Cash Advance USA is trying to scam money from me. They have very heavy Indian accents and are threatening. It is against the law for creditors to threaten people. You should contact the FCT. Hang in there and do not give them any money!

Suggestion

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, June 03, 2011

Look at the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act(FDCPA).  This is the regulations that 3rd Party Collection Agencies must follow when trying to collect a debt.  I am not specifically familar with this company but they sound like a Collection Agency and not the original lender, so these would apply to them.

The first thing you need to do is send them a Cease Communications letter, you can find several examples by searching the Internet.  Be sure to send it by Certified Mail with Return Receipt and write  the Certified Mail Number on the actual letter, and DO NOT sign it only print your name.  Once they receive that they can no longer contact you.  If they do contact you again(other than to tell you they are not going to contact you), you can file suit against them for violations of the FDCPA.  Where you can get a maximum of $1000 plus any real damages you incurred.

stay off the phone

AUTHOR: msmontecarlo - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, June 03, 2011

If they call again do not answer the phone. If you have caller ID and their # shows  do not answer it.

If you have caller reject were it blocks thier # from calling yours use it. Your phone company can tell you more about it. If you have thier address send a cease communications certified but keep a copy of the letter yourself. Once they receive the letter they cannot contact you anymore . If they do then you can sue for damages.
