Mr. Paredes promises a working partnership yet becomes, abrasive, arrogant, and downright threatening when things don't go his way. I posted a Craigslist Advertisement offering a very simple partnership deal. He was very much into the idea of my application I wanted to build. This partnership would be based on the fact that this is a side project and shouldn't be the sole project. This was agreed to by both parties. We also had a VERY explicit agreement that we both had signed, this agreement stated that we would keep everything that we created within this partnership, so neither of us could steal code and/or designs.
I met with him twice and things seemed to be going rather well. He was a .php coder, and was very much down on his luck and his wealth. He was looking to make money as this partnership would be split 40%-60% (him getting 60%). So going forward with the project I would be the sole designer and he would be the coder. I would be completing all of the designs, html, and css, while he would be handling the .php code for the backend. Very simple, except it wasn't.
We were going back and forth with designs, coding and the such for a few weeks and things were going good. Then after 3 days, literally 3 days of me not being logged into my facebook. He stated to me that he was done with the project and began a tirade of verbal insults against myself and my character. For no other reason that it wasn't "moving fast enough" for him. He messaged me at all hours of the day and night begging me to take down his few hundred lines of code, which was very odd considering it was demo code. Nothing that I could run with there. He also seemed to have forgotten our agreement that we signed as well.
So eventually I took down said code, and he left me a scathing voicemail saying how he would "take my designs" and "make something better" amongst very, VERY juvenile threats using words that began with "f" "a" "b" and "n". You get the point. He continued to text message me, email me, and call me with even more threats. And mind you, this was all over a simple partnership that he couldn't wait for. Once again, this was supposed to be a side project (MY side project at least), yet he still didn't quite comprehend it.
Don't ever, and I repeat, ever hire this person for any reason. He's an unstable, juvenile, sad individual. He WILL become very irate. He does not care about his craft, only about how fast he can make a product and ship it out to customers. I can only imagine how his previous clients must have handled him.
Mind you that I've censored 99% of what he's said to me, if you were to hear these obscenities you would never, EVER consider hiring him. Please remember that.
