Fred Hanson came out to my house on Feb 6 2012, promised me a whole bunch of stuff to build my pool and was also the lowest bid i had by $4000.00. Fred left my house with a $1000.00 dollar deposit and left us with the gaurantee that my pool would be finished by May 1st 2012.

One month later after i have made several calls to Challenger Pools inc. asking them when did they plan to start digging my pool, a crew came out the next day. they dug the pool in one day and also cut thru a sewer line which happened to drain out of our house from all the sewage. i had to make a call to the company to let them know that our fecies and urine is running into the whole they dug and ask when did they plan to fix this problem. #1. The plumbing in the yard was all visible marked and the proceeded to break the sewer line any way as they dug. #2. They let it sit open for 24 hrs before having someone come out to fix it. Thats just the first 2 days of this incompetent nightmare.

So after they dug the hole for the pool my wife and i didnt see anyone from the company for 4 days and only after i called to find out when someone was going to be here, a couple of guys showed up the next day and worked approx. 5 hrs. setting rebar.  i asked one of the guys when theyn planned on shooting the pool with gunnite and he said Wednesday or Thursday of this week. The next time i saw them they worked 2 hrs in the pool still doing rebar. So, In a 3 week period and 17hrs of labor time, the pool was ready for inspection, which failed its first inspection because of the "4 inch pvc pipe running thru the middle of the deep end and they didnt finish the spa rebar and plumbing. So BJ from Challenger pools asked me to talk to the inspectors to get them to budge a little on the inspection so that Challenger Pools can shoot the pool with concrete. So i did speak to an inspector and they advised me to have challenger pools engineer provide a letter stating that is was ok to shoot the pool with a sewer line running thru the middle it, and they would sign off on the inspection. I told BJ of this good news on Friday afternoon 3-23-2012 and let him know that the inspector could be there Monday morning at 7am to sign off on the inspection so they could shoot the pool. and Bj said that he had the concrete company scheduled for Monday Morning to shoot the pool, Just another lie from this man. I called BJ Monday Morning 3-26-2012 at 9am and ask if they were shooting the pool yet? his reply was no. so i asked if he had the letter from the engineer yet? his reply was i called the company (Challenger Pools) and left it up to them to call the engineer. so i exclaimed " So no one from Challenger pools could spend 10 minutes on my pool this week end? In 72 hrs. you couldnt spend 10 minutes getting a letter from the company engineer so you can  please the inspectors and home owner  and start moving in a forward progress on this project? Shut it down Bj! challenger pool is fired from working on my pool! I then called Challenger Pools main office and ask for the owner or a manager to call me back because the secretary said neither was in the office. 2 days later i havent heard from any management from Challenger Pools.

Bottom Line Is Challenger pools uses sub-contractors and not there own employees to build pools and they hardly ever show up.

Its taking them 3 weeks to do what should have been done in 3 days.

no one returns phone from the offices and when i did get a phone call from the man that over-sees the projects, everything he said turned out to be a lie or statements misleading myself and my wife.

To update consumers on a post i made about a month ago about Challenger Pools in Tampa FL. To date Challenger Pools and I have come to a satisfying agreement where both parties are happy with the out come. Challenger pools President has made this otherwise uncomfortable situation and more pleasurable experience and has been quite understanding.

Thank you Challenger Pools for your cooperation.
