I bought a 2009 Pontiac G6 w/25854 miles on 2/15/10.
I drove the car home which was about 30 miles away. I noticed that it was not driving right and they did not let me drive it first before I bought it. I called back on Tuesday the 16th and they were closed. I called back on the 17th and spoke to Amelia Duran and told her the transmission was messing up and she told me to take it to the dealer because it was still under warranty. If they can't fix it bring it back and they would fix, give me my moeny back or give me another car. I called Fields-Huston Cadillac, Buick & Pontiac and they made me an appointment for the 25th which was the first one they had available. I dropped it off the evening on the 24th because I am in school and needed a rental car and they provided it for me.
George from Field's-Huston called me and told me he needed to see me in person that my car had svere problems. I went after school and he had the car lifted up in the air and showed me the problems. The car had been a rental car that was involved in an accident and had been repaired with Junk yard parts. Therefore the warranty is null and void with the car now. The transmission had been damaged due to the accident and never repaired. Therefore the oil had a slow leak and was damaged and needed to be replaced. I have a print out explaining everything.
I called Chaney's and spoke to Amelia Duran again and told her what was wrong and asked to talk to Mr. Chaney. He refused to talk to me and told her to tell me to bring it back and he would give me another car or give me my money back. That they would make it right. So on the 26th my husband, myself and my son took the car back to them. I told them the problem and showed them the paper work and they said that I bought the car as is. THey would have it fixed and to follow them to there mechanic in Sebring. We had to follow them to this neighborhood that we had no idea where we were, to a mechanic that works out of his garage in his backyard. He barely spoke english and we were dumped off there with no one else to help us. I asked the mechanic where to park and he said park down there and he would get to me when he could. The car lot closes at 5 and it was 4:20pm. My husband was furious that they made us drive down there in a car that was barley drivable and I could barley get back to Avon Park. We went back in the office and spoke to another gentleman and I told him how shady they were and that all I wanted was my $2450.00 back that I had paid for the down payment. He went to Mr. Chaney and he told him to tell me I was not getting anything back and I could pick out another car or he would have ours fixed. By this time my husband was overly pissed and he was hollering at the guy, then and only then did Mr. Chaney come out of his office. Only to tell us he was not helping us and he was calling 911 to have us arrested. He had my son crying cause he thought we were going to jail. I told Mr. Chaney what a jerk and crook he was and how dare him make my son cry. He said my son was crying because of us not him. The officer came and he sided with us but said it had to be discussed in court since he was not helping us.
Finally he told one of his guys to show us other cars and that we could trade it for antoher car, but we had to pay more money and more sales tax. I told him there was no way I was mpaying anymore money. So we took the car back to the backyard mechanic and left it and it would be fixed the 27th in the afternoon. I called back that afternoon and he said they were closed and couldn't get a transmission until Monday March 1st. I called that afternoon and he said that Mr. Chaney never told him he could order me a new transmission. I called Chaney's and they said it would be done by Wednesday the 3rd of March. They had to pick up a transmission from Miami and it would be done. I called the afternoon of the 3rd and they stated the car was ready come get it and pay him $400.00. I told him I was not paying for the transmission and it was there fault it was messed up and they sold me a wrecked defective car. I only had the car 10 days and I still do not have the car.
The 1st payment was due on March 1st and I did not make the payment because I did not have the car and it was not drivable. Then they called my mother in law and was very nasty to her and told her they were repoing out car if they did not hear from us. I called them and spoke to Amelia Duran again and told her I was not paying for it and I wasn't paying for the mechanical work. That there shady mechanic still had the car and to pick up from him. She said they would, then they called again on the 13th and left a message that they were repoing it and I told her again I still did not have the car and I would see them in court.
I have filed a complain with the Better Business Bureau and I am talking to a lawyer about this also.
I would not recommend this fraud, crook and shady company to anyone.
