Ipurchased one of their 700 Series offset smokers. While assembling it I could not help but notice some manufacturing defects. A dent in the cover and seriously warped cooking grates. I filed a complaint about the grates before ever firing up the smoker and they did replace the grates. I let the dent slide as it would not impact how the thing cooks.

I noticed at the first use that the paint began to blister off the fire box, and I did not immediately complain about it. I live in an area that is in a historic and record breaking drought. It has rained only once at my home side I purchased this smoker. When not in use the smoker was covered with a cover purchased from them.

When I finally got around to complaining about the defective paint job on the fire box it was 5 months after purchase not realizing there was only a 3-month warranty of I would have complained sooner.

Their first attempt to weasel out of replacing the defective manufacturing/painting was to suggest I must have used a petroleum based starter for my charcoals and that produced extreme heat causing the paint to blister. I responded by saying I have never used anything like that. I start my coals in one of those aluminum chimney-like charcoal starters that uses three pieces of newspaper in the bottom to get the coals going. I would then put the coals in the firebox and cook using real wood, not charcoal.

The immoral response was they were not going to do the right thing and replace the firebox because it was out of warranty and it was only a cosmetic defect.

These people are devoid of honor, integrity or morality.

BUY THEIR PRODUCTS AND BE PREPARED TO BE RIPPED OFF THE SAME WAY I WAS. You will get defective equipment that will likely not perform the way it should and then they will blame you for your lousy products.

Wrong...

The one claim you made in the warranty period they honored.  The rest of your "issues" you didn't think it was important enough to either make a claim or to make a claim immediatly.

A warranty covers an item for a particular time, the company has no idea if during that time you used the item 1 or 1000 times.   The warranty is not there for you to make a claim when you get around to it.  They are under no obligation to cover an item AFTER the warranty expires.  If they do great, but if they don't it is NOT a RipOff.
