charles mcentire dannypeterpikii : David Morris Attempt at identity theft via Craigslist san antonio, Texas

We were selling a bike (Harley Davidson) through Craigslist and received an email from a person named Charles Mcentire who wanted to purchase the bike for his son.

He claimed he worked on an off shore rig and could only communicate via e mail due to poor weather. He wanted to pay for this through PayPal (sight unseen, only pics) and was sending the transportation payment through Western Union.

Because he could not conduct business over the phone to Western Union, he requested help from us and asked us to go to the closest W.U. store and confirm the payment.

During this time I received an email from "PayPal" stating this.  There were a lot of grammatical errors in this letter, so I got a bit suspicious.  I didn't think PayPal would send out such an unprofessional letter.  I called PayPal and gave them the confirmation number on the e mail, they looked it up and found no such number.  

I reported this to them and an e mail from PayPal (a real e mail from Pay Pal) came back stating that it was a phishing scam at identity theft.  I also reported to Craigslist fraud department.  I also tried warning Craigslist sellers, but they flagged it and pulled my ad.  Hummm
